I've only been hanging around this community for about 6 weeks, but I'm still so grateful I found it. I'm a housewife living in a small town with no family within a thousand miles and no friends in my IRL community. BookTube has been so warm and friendly, full of people who are so excited about storytelling and talking about the way the books they read make them feel. You guys have cultivated a community here on YT and Discord that makes it less scary to make friends, that I've been leaning on to escape and have fun while my husband and I are stressed with money troubles. Just found booktube recently after my love for reading was reignited in September of this year. This is by far the best channel. The authenticity of this community oozes over. My grandma taught me the power of books when I was 14 and in the hospital and each time I watch one of your fun videos it is like having a piece of her back. And when I watch, I see things and think “oh, I have a snarky rebuttal for that to put in the comments!” And then we got to Chris’s video at the end, and now it’s 12:30am and I’m crying. All the snarky-ness is gone. I do wish to thank you guys for what you do. It is awesome and inspiring. But speaking of Janny Wurts and book hauls, I did find the entire Cycle of Fire trilogy first editions as well as Stormwarden for like $2 a book. So that’s exciting. I have been dealing with some mental health and burnout struggles, and it can be tough to get through all of my responsibilities. Completely agree with iSamwise! I was a bit befuddled by the end of Book of the New Sun and had heard there were some answers in Urth, read it immediately afterwards and felt quite a bit more clarity over everything. It still won't hold your hand, but the questions it leaves you with feel more approachable than if you'd only read the 4 parts of Book. Also, agreed that Urth is the most fun part of the series!
