From a Glasgow rangers supporter I have to admit this is the best football anthem in the world. My uncle was a lifelong supporter of Hibernian and he had his ashes scattered on the grass at Easter road. I admit I sing this with all my heart
I can't be the only man well into his 60s who burst into tears watching and especially listening, to the fans sing this. Absolutely touches the very soul of us.
From a Celtic fan - that would bring tears to a glass eye. Football is all about dreaming and emotion and that has to be the most emotional rendition of a song football has ever seen - born of dream that after a hundred odd years, the HIbs might lift the Scottish Cup again.
My old man was a Celtic fan he had to stop watching matches on doctors advice, smart arse used the radio , he would have loved to see that tho , hail hail all the best Bhoys
Celtic fan who was in an Irish pub that day and I've never seen so many grown men cry it's what football is all about sheer passion for your club something money can't buy
From a Rangers fan, almost worth losing that day. Best football anthem ever. Well done Hibees and well done the Proclaimers. As a Scot many miles from home thanks for making me homesick and proud in equal measure.
Celtic fan meself. Checking in on this comment to say kudos for appreciating it under the circumstance. Scottish Football fans [including of that team you confess to follow] are as passionate as you get and have songs, lots and lots more than most teams around the globe. This came about because of fans being held back from leaving the stadium to keep them apart and 'prevent trouble'. As soon as this started playing, any Scottish football fan would know that was the likely outcome. I'd be interested to know how that hit the yellow vested audience ... How could that not be a lifetime memory, the acoustics of that situation would be awesome surely ? These fans were ambassadors for Scottish football that day without intention and entirely unrehearsed.
Same here, as Johnny Cash said I've been everywhere man but this takes it hands down inside out upside down and any way you wanna look at it, this is the most passionate amazing crowd scene I've seen in 50 years too. 💙💙✌⚽️

Derby County Fan. Has to go down as the most spine chilling moment at a football ground ever.. Watched this loads of times. To think the Proclaimers happened to have written the perfect song in the era when Hibs would win the cup after 114 year wait and 10 previous fails as losing finalists makes it all the more poignant. The perfect game taking the lead, going 2 - 1 down and rallying to get the late winner. Goosebumps stuff. The sun shone on the crowd too. Just perfect. Does make me smile though. All the rivalry with the 'Us English' and the people of your great nation end up fighting with each other. Who is the enemy anyway? Time to put all that division to bed, unite and embrace the humanity of this joyous experience. I bet the Rangers fans who have seen this since, wish they'd have stuck around and joined in the incredible wall of sound.
Arsenal fan here, absolutely spectacular from you hibs supporters, now that’s passion and a half!! Your team must have had shivers down their spines hearing you guys and girls belting that out, all supports should have that passion and emotion for their team so credit to you! 🙏🏻

Climbed Arthur's seat this August. Got to top, saw the Hibs Ground and sang 'Sunshine on Leith'. A special moment for me- my wife and daughter thought I was mad. It's just one of those things which I wanted to do. I am an Aston Villa fan from England! I watched the Villa lift the League trophy in 1981 and the European Cup in 1982. Football is football and respect is respect. God bless the brilliant Hibs fans and The Proclaimers. I forgot to buy a Hibs scarf when I was in Edinburgh. I want to buy a Hibs 'Sunshine on Leith' one for myself for my Birthday. Respect from Villa to Hibs. (John)
Lovely message. My pal is a villa fan and i helped him become a Hibby when up here. And a nice wee link in that the great Des Bremner transferred from the Hibs and help the Villa win the European Cup. fantastic player.
Here I am again, end of 2019, with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. Beautiful, thanks Hibs fans for showing the rest of the world the passion that true football supporters have.
I'm a Leeds United fan, south of the border, proud Yorkshire man. This is truly magical, this is the ultimate in passion and emotion, the glory that we football fans dream of. The man uniteds, the chelseas, the rangers, the celtics, they can have their 20 premier league titles, their 30 FA cups, all bought and paid for with cash. This is absolutely brilliant. I'm well chuffed for all you Hibs fans. A beautiful song, a great anthem that epitomises your love for your team. I'm moved!! Love it!!!
+Terra Nova I agree, as a Celtic fan this brought tears to my eyes , I was happy for Hibs and my dad whose a Hibs fan as it would have been a special day for him and his family
+Terra Nova I am a Celtic Fan... but I love this... yes.. this is what football should be about... and the fact they beat Rangers... just makes it sweeter :)
precisely mate all of those clubs who buy their way to success will never know the feeling that i felt that day as a hibs fan born and bread watched them home and away since i was 3-4 i am 41 now i have suffered more pain watching hibs than i care to remember ,, standing in that crowd singing sunshine on leith after watching our captain score an injury time winner to lift the scottish cup after 114 years and to beat the forces of evil from ibrox makes it even sweeter !!! is a feeling that will live with me forever !!! thanks terra , hope to see leeds utd on the up soon too .
I played professional football in the 70's and, now in my sixties, find it difficult to recapture the enthusiasm and sheer love of the game that I had in my innocent youth. This rendition reminds me of why I love football so much and of all the highs and lows that this magical game still brings. Moving beyond belief!
As a Leicester season ticket holder for 40 years (and a left footer) this is the best ever terrace anthem I have ever heard. Tear to my eye, always love The Hibbies. Total respect brothers, B.S.
I'm a Rangers fan and today a good lad lost his life to cancer, a fellow adidas fan and a massive Hibs & Man Utd fan, gone too soon, R.I.P Eddie McCabe, a gentleman to the end.
I’m a proud Yorkshireman, but this has brought a tear to my eye. I only really came across the song the other week, but it’s already one of my all time favourites, and this rendition is spine tingling.
Janet l remember my brother was so happy and proud that day,he was a hibs supporter all his life,I'm so glad he was alive to see hibs win the cup, sadly he died of cancer in 2o17 I've got his t shirts and scarfs on his bed and a ball signed by all the hibs player's,in memory of James rip sweet brother. xxxxxx
Janet, God bless your brother, maybe it's cup final day every day in Heaven ? Wudn't that be something 👍 RIP James, never met you, never knew you, but you sounded like a real special man, who knows, maybe Rotherham United have their own team up there, and what could be wrong with a ding dong Scotland v England game with all the passion of our supporters who have gone before us ! My late friend was a SWFC fan, and wud drive up and down the country, spina bifida be damned, and i wud luv pushing her thru foreign streets, I hope we can all meet up one day, sweet dreams and a cracking game of footy for all who went too soon x

I just watched this again and remembered the great day in May when I stood in my flat in London watching the TV and roaring this at the top of my voice with tears streaming down my face. You need to to be a Hibee to fully understand the passion and the excitement is there for all to see
A few hundred police listening to the hibs fans singing their heart out. This is a thing of beauty and Scottish football should be proud. You may be wee hibees, but you're oor wee hibees, and we love you!
Every time I watch this, it warms my heart so much. I keep coming back to it time and again and it never fails to put a smile on my face. The most amazing fan singalong of all time. For those there, it must have been spine tingling.
Overwhelming. This here and Irish fans singing "Fields of Athenry" on Euro 2012 against Spain, two greatest moments in a modern football. Greetings from Serbia from Partizan Belgrade fan!
Back again, listening to the most wonderful football fans tune I've ever heard in my 51 years on this planet. I love the villa with all my heart till my last dying breath, I love football and grew up with heroes. Hibs are my second team forever.
I'm a Swansea City fan and they're the only team I'll ever support but whenever I see this and hear the fans belting out this beautiful song, I became a Hibs fan for four and a half minutes. This sums up everything I love about sport, everything I love about music and everything I love about being a fan and truly loving something. Wonderful, just wonderful.
@@any1younger You pathetic nunce. This gentleman praised how brilliant these fans are and just because he's a LIVERPOOL!!! fan, you have to make that comment. Most LIVERPOOL fans were disgusted of the actions at Heysel. I suppose you'll say that we were the ones that caused the 96 beautiful human beings to die at Hillsborough. Amazing! Why has it taken me nearly 3 years to witness this? All the negative news was Rangers fans invading the pitch after their loss to fight the Hibs fans who were celebrating (but the Rangers fans did it to protect their players of course). This rendition of Sunshine on Leith should have been the main news of the day! Respect to the Hibs fans. Fantastic!
In the middle of Covid-19, missing football, and crowds, and the pure joy that this video conjures up. Well done Hibbees, you’ve moved an old Forest fan to tears!
I'm a Bristol lad through and through but this is the most powerful song I've ever heard on the terrace: Well done Hibs, that was incredible. I can't stop listening to it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
Words can’t describe the feeling of being at this special once in a lifetime event. The supporters that went before us, who lived in hope of one day seeing their team lift the cup but never did. We all sung our hearts out that day for them! #GGTTH A wee special mention for my kid brother Jamie, unfortunately this was to be his final of final matches. R.I.P brother, until we meet again. #Myheartwasbroken GGTTH
114 years. That’s the history never to be repeated. You can’t buy this emotion. You either feel it or you don’t. You need to have lived it. There’s no fake’s amongst us. We never chose to hunt glory by choosing a team that wins the league every year. The team chooses you because it’s engrained in who you are and were your from. Every single person who reads this will identify with what I’ve said with their own team. I hope you can all one day feel the same emotion as we did that brilliant day in 2016. #GGTTH
As a Bluenose the result was a sore one however reading your comment puts life firmly back into perspective. Really sorry to read about your kid brother. I am sure he enjoyed the day and will be reliving it on repeat up the stairs.
I'm Aussie, but folks are from Leith. I went back a few years ago and experienced the boys singing this amazing song. I'm a big quiet guy but the best tears I ever shed was during this. Thank you boys.
As a human being this makes me humble, what an absolute spine tingling song sang by fans who starved for success for years. Well done Hibs for making your team immortal 🍀

+Terra Nova I agree, as a Celtic fan this brought tears to my eyes , I was happy for Hibs and my dad whose a Hibs fan as it would have been a special day for him and his family
+Terra Nova I am a Celtic Fan... but I love this... yes.. this is what football should be about... and the fact they beat Rangers... just makes it sweeter :)
pure class on how to support and love ur team x
+ Terra Nova Cheers mate.Nice comment.What a day.What a weekend.Manchester Hibs#1👍
precisely mate all of those clubs who buy their way to success will never know the feeling that i felt that day as a hibs fan born and bread watched them home and away since i was 3-4 i am 41 now i have suffered more pain watching hibs than i care to remember ,, standing in that crowd singing sunshine on leith after watching our captain score an injury time winner to lift the scottish cup after 114 years and to beat the forces of evil from ibrox makes it even sweeter !!! is a feeling that will live with me forever !!! thanks terra , hope to see leeds utd on the up soon too .
F.a. cup winners 2021 luhg.
I'm a Rangers fan and today a good lad lost his life to cancer, a fellow adidas fan and a massive Hibs & Man Utd fan, gone too soon, R.I.P Eddie McCabe, a gentleman to the end.
RIP Eddie McCabe from a Blackburn fan
Condolences from a Bohs fan in Dublin
RIP mate I’m not a football fan road racing fan sending all my 💖 from the Isle of Man 🇮🇲
Isn't the internet a lovely place sometimes, this whole thread is appreciation

It genuinely does not get better than this. Cheers from America
Send him a letter, then.
My late friend was a SWFC fan, and wud drive up and down the country, spina bifida be damned, and i wud luv pushing her thru foreign streets, I hope we can all meet up one day, sweet dreams and a cracking game of footy for all who went too soon x
im a leeds fan. and quite a fanatic for leeds.but i defy any fan of any club in any league in the the world to produce such a beautiful harmonic and a magnificent moving joy to watch and listen as this.congratulations hibs.
Fantastic scenes...memories to treasure. So proud to have John McGinn in our side...a truly special player. God bless to you all.
canadian here.never watched a soccer game in my life, but i understand the emotion here.i feel it even though its not mine.the same way gerry and the pacemakers, youll never walk alone makes me emotional the vid of everyday people singing....aw man!
Simply amazing...there are some great club anthems..none but none rival this..
My heart just broke never heard anything so beautiful
Every time I watch this, it warms my heart so much. I keep coming back to it time and again and it never fails to put a smile on my face. The most amazing fan singalong of all time. For those there, it must have been spine tingling.
Im a Tongan from New Zealand.. and I love the Hibs and particularly this song... always play it when im on it...
Up there with the Haka for Jonah Lomu. Both so heartfelt for so many.
I watch this video every so often as, whilst I'm a Leeds fan, this epitomises everything great about the joy football can bring to thousands.
We love the villains mate. They made sure SJM didnt go to celtic. So thankful. He doesnt play against us.
✌️
Super John mcginn has been brilliant for us and we love him.
Great, young & old together with so much passion singing this club song, amazing!!! A new fan from Belgium!
Best day of my life...being at Hampden to see my beloved Hibernian finally win the Scottish Cup
Honestly dude, you guys did your team proud this shit is epic.
johnnyM809 we saw it we claimed it we touched it
Heart felt and wonderful...im irish celtic and this is passion at its best..🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇺🇿🏴..well done hibs
JOHNNYM809 Your comment nearly brings a tear to my eye.
A comment worthy of the video David. Hymns and Arias indeed...
Beautiful song my compadres 👌 love from Tipperary Ireland.....Hibs will always have a soft spot in our hearts🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

God bless him, I'm sure he was singing loud.
From a rangers fan who lost the final that memory of those hibs fans will always stay, unreal
What a wonderful game it is to inspire such love and such loyalty..
LFC fan. I used to think we had the most spine tingling, passionate anthem in football. I was wrong. This is majestic
The Hibs are singing a song penned and sung by Hibs Supporters. Never Walk Alone was written by Americans for an American Musical. :)
You were ALWAYS WRONG...........Justice for the heysel murdered.
If you can't say anything nice you can go to HELL!!!!!! I'm sick of opposing fans bringing up our past. It's the greatest football club on the planet and I wouldn't wish hatred on any other club . EXCEPT FOR MAN.U. LOL.
Stephen Lisson - Are you 12yrs old? I was actually at Hillsboro so I don’t need any lectures and abuse from a wet behind the ears fool.
@@any1younger Wet behind the ears fool. I'm 65 years old. Why does ever Liverpool hating fan, have to bring up the past? Simon's comment was to praise the Hibs fans and then you make that asinine comment about Heysel. That's why I made that comment. GET A LIFE!!!!! you plank.
Sheffield United fan here.. this the best rendition of a club anthem ever.. 👏👏👏👏 bravo.
What do you know piggy
Kevin Mitchell well I know what Premier League fixtures we have this season. 👍
At least Hibs fans do sing unlike your lot.
I love watching this every so often, get goosebumps everytime.
me too !
as a spurs fan have never heard any anthem sung like this it melts my heart every time i hear it
And they say there’s nothing in Scottish football apart from the old firm... Bollocks, from a Celtic fan.
I'm a rangers fan and I'll 100 agree with that 👍
Never heard a scotsman say “bollocks” afore

for all those that don't get football and think its just some blokes kicking a ball and rolling about on the floor about this encapsulates it perfectly. haunting and inspiring....
My team, Šibenik in Croatia, was relegated this weekend from first tier. But on Wednesday we play Cup finale, for our first trophy ever. We hope for a moment like this. Wish us luck.
This is an emotional song man. Got to be the best out there on the terraces in whole of UK, HANDS DOWN. Being far away fae home in Canada makes me proud to be a Scot, and miss Scotland. Well done Hibee fans, from a tic fan. 🏴🍀
that has to be one of the most beautiful stirring things i have ever heard
As a spurs fan I hope he get 1 moment while I’m alive. The beauty of this is amazing

A proud mancunian and united fan but after doing my army training up in Edinburgh I'm so glad it introduced me to the hibs what a club
@Joe Peroni I'm a soldier I said I like Hibs not everything you're going on about it's football mate not politics
The most beautiful thing. I’m a West Ham fan, but totally with this, heart and soul.
Fantastic!
I’m a Toon fan. My dad was born a stone throw from Tynecastle. Hearts are my Scottish team. Despite the rivalry, this was brilliant
In the middle of Covid-19, missing football, and crowds, and the pure joy that this video conjures up. Well done Hibbees, you’ve moved an old Forest fan to tears!
Am Hibs and Forest and Forest before they were to become something that will never ever be repeated.
Still listening..... Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Amazing
I'm a Bristol lad through and through but this is the most powerful song I've ever heard on the terrace: Well done Hibs, that was incredible. I can't stop listening to it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
I'm a Pompey fan and this brought a lump to the throat, respect to Hibs
Words can’t describe the feeling of being at this special once in a lifetime event. The supporters that went before us, who lived in hope of one day seeing their team lift the cup but never did. We all sung our hearts out that day for them! #GGTTH
A wee special mention for my kid brother Jamie, unfortunately this was to be his final of final matches.
I always come back to this video every once and a while. It’s beautiful.
Im a Lyon fan and this gives me goose bumps
Allez Hibs
Absolute quality. Probably one of the best songs from any set of supporters.
Fu ManU the only football song, what being a football fan is all about.
Probably the best British club anthem.
And best I've seen.
Respect to you hibs
I would say the best footie anthem in the world and this is coming from a huge Liverpool fan.
Best ever football anthem. Love the Scots from an Irishman. Watched it 30 times and love it. I'm a Hibs supporter now.
Apologies I’m an Englishman but absolutely LOVE the Proclaimers. This is my favourite song of theirs. You Hibs fans smashed it out of the park with that rendition. You made this chap well up 👏👏👏👏👏 Hibs fans.
