I once owned a 1988 Trans Am GTA and it was not a clone it had the 5.7 L TPI engine in it it was white exterior and camel interior. I love that car I wish I still had it. The fella that I sold it to knew what he had and he was investing in it but needless to say he did something very stupid he got drunk and drove it into the woods on a dirt road and hit a tree stump with it the car caught on fire and it was destroyed fire it was a total loss. I wish I could afford this one here I would love to have it I know how to treat a car with love and compassion of taking care of that ride. But needless to say I can't afford it and being that this was 9 months ago I'm sure it's been sold even so I still couldn't afford it. I hope the new owner of whoever that might be is treating this car very well. What a dream it would be to own this. Enjoyed the video.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: IMO the best looking American car ever made. I had an '88 almost identical to this one and it was incredible. I miss that car....out of all the cars shown in this video...I'd take this one. All day every day.
My best buddy got this exact car on his 16th birthday.
I can't remember if it was an 88 or 89, to be honest, but it was his first car, and it was just like this.
Taking this thing to high school every day was crazy.
He lived just a few houses down from me, so this was my ride.
A few dudes had 5.0 liter Mustang LXs, GTs and Cobras but this GTA was better.

This is a 5-litre V8 with Tuned-Port Injection...if anyone ordered the 5.7L TPI V8 for this vehicle, they must order the electronic 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission!

Rare car considering 88 was the only year for both the digital dash and steering wheel controls.. 87 had the dash but not the controls..
I had a red 1989 T/A with 305 from what I was told GTA TA from the dealership the tops and 5 speed was ONLY available with the 305cid!!!!!

i own one in the same condition but white pearl. Love it but I hate to drive it to put milage on it. t is a show car that I had for almost 20 years. i might put around 60 miles on it every year... motor still looks new...... seat has Seat Adjuster, Manual 4-Way Driver. only 7 of the 88 gta made with this feature my understanding.
Very nice car! This is a 5.0 not a 5.7, your website has it listed correctly, and looking at the VIN # it is a 5.0 motor.
