Beautiful! I have no words! Only a profound emotion! Saw him today at the Kennedy Center and, at 84, he is still a virtuoso. Consider myself blessed for having the opportunity of enjoying his music.Eleanor in DC.
The announcer mispronounces his name. It is Mah-KOH-vich (accent on the second syllable).
Отлично! Слушал его еще в детстве с 1977 года! Блестящий Польский пианист!!!
He is not of Polish origin: he is Polish
He was born in Czechoslavakia in 1940 and his family moved to Poland in 1946. He was raised and schooled in Poland and spoke fluent Polish. My wife, Magdalena Golczewski and I knew him and his first wife Irena Chalecka quite well. We hosted Adam a number of times at Windham Chamber Music Festival, (both solo and with George Mraz).
