Thanks James. You never know where you'll wind up in this hobby. The Asura and IWC vintage reissue are stunners for me. You already know how much I love the Hroudland, wear it quite a bit.

I continue to be impressed by the turbine pilot. Even after all the years I’ve owned it.

Refreshing to see a collection without a (yawn), Sub, Seamaster, Tag etc. Such a great variety of types too. Loving the Orient Star. What a find! Could you let me know the reference to that one pls? Took delivery of a Oceanus OCW T200S white/silver dial yesterday. What a watch! I know you’re not over inanimate about quartz, but what a great piece this is, and a fine way to close out 2024.

Thanks mate. I know that exact feeling. The orient star it spectacular. I’m very impressed. It is the “outdoor” RE-AU0204L

100% agree, what a varied and original collection. These SOTC videos are so much more interesting when the watches reflect the owner's personality rather than being a check list of all the must have icons. I hope you are enjoying your Oceanus Stuart 👍

Interesting collection. Been collecting for many years. Have gone from enthusiast to "collector" back to enthusiast. The Microbrands that I've bought over the last two years get So Much more wrist time and honestly enjoy them so much more.

That’s a terrific collection. I remember a time when you said you couldn’t really see yourself having more than a dozen watches or so. I remember telling myself the same thing also. 😅. Thanks for a great years of great content. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family. Although Christmas in Australia must feel weird (at least for us) when everyone is wearing shorts and a t-shirt…🧐

A great collection. As others have commented, not full of the usual suspects, BB, excepted. lol.
I quickly realised, dive style watches don’t do it for me, (I do have a couple), they tend to look very similar, so the Longines would probably be the one out of your collection. The IWC, do look classy, in my opinion. As does the Golden Horse.

Honestly, that first watch, the IWC is just perfect. I also love the Orient Star you showed. You have a strong inclination towards the field / pilot aesthetic.
I do too, owning a polar, an alpinist, and with a murph on the way.
I also own a speedy automatic that has strong field vibes with Arabic numerals

I recently started getting into watches, and if you asked me six months ago, I would shrug my shoulders. Today I'm thinking and looking at watches pretty much every waking hour :-)
I still have yet to get my first mechanical watch but I think I'm going to go for a Christopher Ward Trident. Not exactly sure which variant yet but definitely the white dial. Your Christopher Ward is BEAUTIFUL. Curious, what model is yours? What size is it and what size is your wrist? The fit on you is ideal for me.
Also 6 months ago I would think people like you were crazy. Now I'm jealous!

A few have ended up leaving the collecting. Including the Damasko.
It was sad to see it go. But a bit of change ahead.

I was the same as you, man. But this year I really got strict, and ended up selling around 30 watches, and honestly, it was like a relief. Now every watch left in my box is something I love, and something I really want to wear. And there's 30 watches I sold that will never need maintaining/servicing/battery etc. And every three or four I sold, I replaced with one I really wanted. We all have different ways of doing things, but it's well worth considering, and it makes you a better buyer as well, because it forces you to think more about whether what you're considering is a passing fancy or a keeper. 👍
