My suggestion: In Countdown, a team versus where Troy/Nick's own scores do not count for the Flounder Fest score. You still drive around and attempt to hurt the opposing team, but ultimately you are just spending a GP hoping your team clutches it

Some other sabotage ideas are: - Use a character with minimum weight - No boost panels on certain tracks - No aggressive items (red shells, blue shell etc.) - Karts only - No shortcuts - You can’t be in the top 3 for the first 2 laps - Playing on automatic - No ultra shortcut / glitches - No wheelies - No mini-turbos - Playing on the WiiWheel / with nunchuck - Maybe even the opposite of the platinum runner, like the Scrap Runner or something - and probably a lot more ;-) (An idea as a penalty for “cheating” is that you’ll lose like 5 points in the leaderboard of the GP) Hyped as hell for this series, keep it up guys! My idea: Use mod where everything is inside drift, or the mod where everything is outside drift. Everyone in the room should use the mod not just you guys.
Not sure what can and can't be modded, but here's some Ideas; #ReverseInput; Maybe only left/right, or add break/gas, trick/itemUse, throw forward/backward etc for full mindmelt. #OneRandomInput; At the start of each race, on input will be randomized (can switch place with another input). So from the moment the race starts they'll need to figure out which input they've lost and where it's been relocated. (maybe the changes should carry over to the next race, so it gets more and more chaotic?) #ItemActivate; Throw a Bomb forward, or Get a Mushroom Boost, at either random or set (like 10 or 15 seconds) intervals. (doesn't override held item). #SuperDark; Vehicles have headlights, item boxes and items shed light (throwing items forward to see). Maybe reverse or mirror map to make it harder to go by muscle memory? #ShiftingVehicle; Either at intervals (set or random) or when you get an item your vehicle changes to another randomized one. #SwappingPlace; At set intervals (to encourage mindgames), players in the Odd positions switch place with the players in the Even position behind them. (each player keeps their own momentum, speed, etc in the swap).
I think they mentioned different ideas for episodes so I have a few of my own that I’d like to share. Idea 1: Troy and nick should do a no item froom where they bag (go backwards). Host always wins should be on so a track that is impossible to complete backwards is not selected like toads factory or coconut mall. Extra emphasis on tracks that have some backwards tech like bc64 and rWS. Whoever has the fewest amount of points after 12 races wins. Idea 2: Troy and nick both start on the flame runner, then whoever wins first race goes to mach, loser stays on flame runner. If the Mach player wins, he goes to bullet bike for next race, if flame wins, they’ll also go mach. Continue this process until either player has won one race with each inward drift bike, from best to worst. Maybe go flame -> mach -> bullet bike -> sneakster -> spear -> jet bubble -> magikruiser -> dolphin dasher -> quacker Idea 3: Troy and nick play every track with a shroomless cut and you have to attempt the cut every single lap (and for some of the tracks maybe even force you guys to make the cut a certain number of times if you wish to complete the race). As expected, highest point total after all races have been completed wins.
An interesting sabotage for Flounder Fest could be bringing in two other people. You and Nick each pair up with one of them, and you do a Fail/Recovery battle. Would bring in a wild card for each team and you can fight to see who has the best comeback potential.

You can do anything to distract them from this end, from choosing different combos each race to zooming ahead of them for a time (but not for more than one half lap at a time, or one full lap total). You can even do a bit of sabotage on the player you're following, but remember that their performance affects yours since it's hard to get a placement much higher than theirs.

I've been watching your channel for a few years now and I always love the content. I do have a suggestion for Flounderfest though. My brother and I just played this the other night. A 12 race GP (No custom tracks) where you'll each choose 6 tracks to race on, but you'll also each have 6 cancellations (you can say no to 6 tracks your opponent chooses). It worked out really well and we both used up all of our cancellations.
Next Flounder Fest: Both of you have the left side of the screen covered; that way you have your view restricted and cannot see your item and your position

How about this: you two have to take every single shortcut on the tracks you play, regardless of difficulty. If there's one you can get but not the other, alternate it between laps. If you fail on that lap you don't have to try again
I don"t know if this would work or fit flounder fest but I think it could be cool: Everyone in the room is on platinum runner but you two are on outside drifting karts and instead of the point being awarded as normal, it is given to whichever of you two beats the other to getting a first place finish in a race.
