Good information here mate, you have demonstrated how to work out the percentage of oil used per litre of fuel, ie, 50:1= 2% 33:1=3% 25:1=4% and so on and so on. Thank you.
Excellent tip Sandy. Much appreciated. I still remember when a neighbor forgot to add oil to this motorboat after storage. Motor started and then froze. He destroyed it. Peace, Ken
I have a two stroke Jawa 350 motorcycle, two cilynders. Factory recomends 1:40 ratio. When I was younger I never measured exactly; I put oil in petrol on "eye" and "by feel" but I never put less. I put oil in petrol to this day like that. Its not dangerous if you put a little bit more oil, just dont put less oil. Jawa still works good.
Great video and easy to understand. As I use small quantities I use a lawnmower/chainsaw mixing plastic bottle with mixture measurement marks. Very cheap at around £3. Also can be used for storage. Talking about storage they recommend 2 x stroke fuel mix should be kept no longer than 1 month. Modern Straight Petrol 3 months as it starts to deteriorate. Also old motorbike glass fibre fuel tanks as well as O rings and plastic float bowls can dissolve with modern petrol. All according to Motorcycle magazines articles George Ps Its mentioned on the BMW Air Head Forum under Etherynol etc.
Good video. Here in the US I buy premixed gas in sealed cans. They put ethanol in the fuel that you buy at a gas stations and it runs too hot for small two stoke engines. I've learned this the hard way with expensive repair bills.
Spot on Sandy, I have loads of gear with different mixes and never been that sure I had each one right. But I will now. Thanks mate very good info. Arthur.
handy for the larger amounts you need for your flying machine. but us gardeners use pre marked 2 stroke mixing bottles with various ratios marked on the side. in my case its 50-1 for stihl machines.
Thanks for that, handy tip👍, you can also get those jugs in the Range😊 I use Aspen fuel for the chainsaws & strimmers but other 2 strokes get a decent synthetic oil in petrol (gas) as Aspen is quite expensive😀 atb Adam
Great info bro. With you doing the motor tests I can not help thinking about how long before we see someone on a skate board using a para motor for propulsion. (maybe it has already been done) I used to use 25 to 1 in all my 2 stroke motors but these days with the synthetic oil I use 50 to 1 and what a difference in performance and far less fumes. ATB.
Oddly enough I was just thinking along similar lines as an aid for take off. A wheeled "platform" of some sort that the pilot could stand or sit on until take off speed was reached and he could then jettison it and rise above us. Maybe I need to get out more!!
I'm an idiot I always thought for example that a 40:1 ratio meant 40ml of two stroke oil to One liter of fuel. Thank heavens for good people like yourself educating blinkered people like me. Appreciated : )
I just got a new engine DR Evolution 50cc air cooled for my scooter and replaced everything in the transmission. The connecting rod bearing somehow fell apart and made it into the chamber destroying the engine. This is a Peugeot Speedfight II and it was the original engine with about 15.000kilometers, I've been told it was just too old and that's why that happened not because it didn't get enough or any oil cause apparently the autolube works or at least its consuming oil from the oil tank and there is no oil leakage sign anywhere so it must go into the engine I guess. I've been told that through the break in period which is 500km which I've been through already, add an extra 10-20ml oil to the fuel tank. I actually added 40ml and recently after 400km 60ml because I was trying out the limits of the new engine. My question is, would it harm the scooter if I keep adding extra oil to the fuel? What would be the limitations for that? I know the 50:1 ratio, I have a 7l fuel tank so if I were to premix oil with fuel I should add 120ml which I guess would be too much oil of course and the mixture would be too lean making the engine hotter and thus causing an engine seize no matter the extra oil. But like would 60-80ml extra oil do any damage or would it even do any good in the first place or its not even necessary at all to add even a small amount of extra oil to the fuel if the oil pump works in theory? I'd be glad if someone could help cause I'm more of a car guy, I just got this scooter to have some fun with it at places where my car can't go, I know how the 2t engine works and the premix would be also simple solution I know. I'm not really familiar with the autolube system but I guess the engineers designing these scooters and whoever came up with this autolube system must know what they are doing and how this system is supposed to work. So I wouldn't wanna just go with the "disconnect the autolube and mix it on your own" what most people say on forums.
What ratio and fuel you used for your para moteur in this Day i buy 1 liter of castrol racing 1 full synthétic for my chainsaw i Would mix it at 40/1 with 125 ml oil and 4,875 liter of fuel but i don t sauf if i Mus buy sp 98 or sp95 thank for rep and désolé for my poor english
Over complicated. If you have 5 litres that’s 5000ml .divide it by 50 if it’s 50:1 =100ml easy. 2litres =2000ml divide it by your ratio eg 50:1 =40ml oil
This is really basic maths, if anyone doesn't know or understand such basic math fundamentals then I doubt they have the brains to be trusted with something like a chainsaw.
So, for your maverick which has a 66:1 ratio for motul 800 oil (after break in) it would need 75.75 ml for a 5 litre fuel can. Is that what your running at?
May I suggest just keep it in the same ml format divide your 33 or 40 etc. ratio into your fuel in ml and get the answer skipping the extra complication eg: 5000ml /33 =151.5.ml 750ml /33 = 22.7ml 5000ml / 40=125ml it is the amount in ml that is important.
Well, I've learnt something new tonight, I had no idea what the 'M' buttons on the calculator were for! Good info too, and well explained :)

Thats worrying!
Thank you sandy for the info. I've just got a Stihl strimmer and that's a real easy way of getting the correct mix.
Great video and easy to break it down and understand, 👍
Spot on Sandy, I have loads of gear with different mixes and never been that sure I had each one right. But I will now. Thanks mate very good info. Arthur.
Thank you Sir , for your info it Is so helpful to me. I am a master now on oil and gas ratio mixing, thank you again.
Good advice, paint mixing cups are handy and less fragile than Pyrex too.
Oh yes very good i remember i used to do a pre mix for my old vespas and lambrettas
thankyou very much leon oliver
Great job 👍

Thank you from Texas! I did not know that.
Great upload. I never new how to work out 2 stroke ratios but now I done 👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant tutorial 👍👍
I bet this video will help a lot of people mate ..
Great video Sandy, so easy to understand. Great advice, you make a great teacher.
Thanks heaps man this video was really helpful and takes a lot of guesswork out of the equation thank you very much again cheers
Great vid it's been hard finding a uk video so thankyou
This is a great helpful video Sandy, I have an Atco 1953 Lawn Mower, so will come in handy. :-)Thank you
Need more paramotor vids Sandy!
No more paramotor videos here now as I have retired from flying due to a few minor health issues
Thanks for that, handy tip👍, you can also get those jugs in the Range😊 I use Aspen fuel for the chainsaws & strimmers but other 2 strokes get a decent synthetic oil in petrol (gas) as Aspen is quite expensive😀 atb Adam
Thanks for the little tip Sandy. It is always nice to simplify things. Take care my friend.
This is common sense. Anyone in need of this video should not be allowed around power equipment.
I agree but common sense is something a lot of folk don't seem to have much of these days
Great video👍🏻👍🏻 appreciate it. It useful for me. Thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you sandy as I normally just do it by eye ( the lazy way ) I'll try your method on my stihl chainsaws 👍 Thank you
Thankyou Sir, Georgia USA
😉EXCELENTE VIDEO SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO
Thanks Enrique
Thank you
Cheers Gov
Most informative.
"These days you can access it online"
loved those lines....
Thank you great video. looks like I've mixing it wrong
Nice and easy method 👍

i used to pour in a ratio 1:30 in my yamaha rxz 135
I have an 8 litre tank, that needs filling with a mix of petrol and oil at a ration of 25:1 whats the answer? Pleeease
Excellently explained sir : )
Thank you
I'm an idiot

Great explaination , Tq 👌
excellent vid sir......thank you....
excellent info here, what a legend
LOL Leg End you mean:)
Easiest way. One tot is 25ml. Run two tots( a double) 50ml for every 3lt. Cheers!
Do you like the castrol 2 stroke full synthetic for your small two stroke engines .
Cheers sandy very helpful
useful
Thank you Professor!
Noel
I just like to know Noel if you know what I mean:) Ringaninganinganing
Reminds me of my aircraft refuelling days. 😉
Hi sandy nice tip mate
take amount of fuel times by 2 add 0 gives you amount of oil in ml you need to add
50/1
50x2=100 add 0 =1000ml
a lot quicker to do in your head
Thats magic:)
Very useful tip sandy
Huh
It's great just could you make the hand written note in bolder script so it is easier to read. Thanks
Or 40:1 is 1divided by 40 times 8000 = 200ml
I usually always poured any amount of oil in sometimes it smoke other times it staled

💪🏽🇬🇧👍🏽 thanks for the video
Thank you for explaining, so if my ratio is 50/1 I have to put 100ml oil into 5 litres petrol?

I wonder what they call the mixture ie petroil, in France, as gasoil means diesel there?
Thanks mate 👍🇦🇺
Thank you, made very simple cheers 🍻

Thank you very helpful
Thanks!
This is really basic maths, if anyone doesn't know or understand such basic math fundamentals then I doubt they have the brains to be trusted with something like a chainsaw.
How do I eyeball 16:1 😭 then I need 20:1 after the first 500km
So, for your maverick which has a 66:1 ratio for motul 800 oil (after break in) it would need 75.75 ml for a 5 litre fuel can.
Is that what your running at?
We in the USA use gallons and ounces. Stupid us. We are out of step with the whole world. Do you have a quick formula for us?
LOL....NO
What is 40? Where do you get that?
you could just use a mixing bottle if you only need up to about 2l
Can u use mineral oil coz i wanna test it without blowing it up
I would always use the manufacturers recommended oil
For the engines that go ringidingding
They do that:)
Sir in 7liters of
Petron how much 2toil to be mix
Top man
Can you now explain what happens when a capacitor and inductor is put into parallel and an AC current is applied ?
Yes simple. You setup an oscillation frequency dependant upon the values of L and C
When will we be in receipt of that 47 minute CW video ?
I can't wait....
Give my regards to G4FAD.
Much quicker to simply multiply the higher figure by 2 and add another zero.
So 30mls oil to litre of petrol
Strange way to calculate. Much easier to just multiply the ratio by the total fuel you want. e.g., 1/40*8L = .2 L= 200 mL of oil added to 8L of gas
Good job 👍
50/1 is 20L-400ml
Why does this man look like Stephen Hawkins to me.
I don’t know why.
I think i saw your paramotor video????
Great video
lolz yep me got baby bottle
Basic maths then. Will get my 13 year old to do the math lol
👍🏻🇬🇧
ANNOYING LITTLES ENGINES
EXCUSE ME SIR
2 STROKES MOVES OUR SOULS NOT JUST THE BODY
Guess it.
hope you got the spare cash to replace or repair a 2 stroker
Long winded and confusing. 5000 ml divided by 33 gives 151.5.
5000 ml divided by 40 gives 125.
your right :)
U dont explain what is needed. To explain u just explain many. Many things
aaaaaaagh
Annoying 2 stroke? C'mon man.
hi bro do u have a penny stuck in your left eye
have some respect u bastard
Why r your lips like that ??
I have a facial paralysis caused by neuro surgery to remove a type of brain tumour called acoustic neuroma.
