      I'm honestly having to hold back my wants for him spectating my vod, because I don't want to contribute to that. The series is that much fun to watch, and I want to be spectated that badly. I can imagine so many others also want to be spectated so badly. It's such a good series that it provokes this kind of reaction. I think people bugging him about it so much is because of how good it is. Not to excuse the behavior at all, but to pay respects to the show and how loved it is.

If your tanks don't make space, everyone is feeding etc you can be a plat dps in terms of aim and awareness but basically you have to overextend as dps entire time and when you do get a kill your teammates proceed to feed. If your talking about ranking up in terms of tank in silver just play confident and push people of highgrounds and basically you will win.

      @@Siks7Ate9 it honestly is true in that ELO though, especially on dps. Sure you have to play like a masters player for it to happen but you only need to pop off for one or two team fights to win a game. Sure that’s incredibly unlikely to happen, but it is possible. It’s a matter of setting yourself up in situations where if you pop off you’ll be able to have that impact. Sure 99 times out of 100 it won’t work out and you’ll lose anyways, but it’s worth trying to make it that 1 game out of 100

    while i understand the meaning behind spectating bronze is to have fun and shit on people's gameplay (that they willingly sign up for!), i cannot express how much i actually genuinely enjoy this type of more educational and informative content. i know a lot of players watch you for the funnies, but i also know a lot of them also watch you to better their tank play - and probably their general game sense as well. this was so good to watch.

    Flats is 100% correct about confidence. Most low elo tanks are either way too passive or way too aggressive. Either they hold back and have no impact, or they hard feed - and there's rarely ever an in-between. Confidence is so important, and not just confidence in your own skill and abilities. But confidence to switch things up and try new things out; being willing to adapt your playstyle on the fly. *That's* how you grow and get better as a player. If you If you sit back as a tank and rely on your dps to get picks, or blindly healbot on support, or blame tank comps/heals as a dps, all you're doing is shooting yourself in the foot. If you want to climb, *you* have to be the one making plays. If you're not confident enough to try, you're going to have a real hard time growing and climbing.

  • @Stoeltzenjammer

    That's a very good point about playing "perfect" Overwatch. It just doesn't actually exist no matter how much people kid themselves. So many people talk about how they love how tactical overwatch is and how team play is so important, yet in almost every game, you either are too passive because you are trying to wait for your team, or your team keeps inting or going in before a regroup and dying. Not saying that won't happen in 5v5, but its much more prevalent in 6v6

  • @ToadimusPrime
    @ToadimusPrime 2 роки тому +5

    The biggest issue in low elo is team trust. It's justified in Bronze and Silver because people are legit bad. But if you have someone on a role, you must trust them to do what they need to. The higher you get, people tend to trust each other more because you're up there for a reason. But it's one of the biggest issues I've seen in Bronze. Tanks usually don't expect to get healed, so they don't engage. You see this in quickplay quite often. I keep telling my friend who just started playing, and plays tank, to just go in, I got his back, yet he's still scared. While my other friend just dives in when it's logical whenever playing with me because he trusts me to keep him healed. Team trust is very important.

    Love this series, and watching your rein advice always makes me feel more comfortable on the rare occasions I play him (I am a support main, then dps, then ...basically dva lol).
    I was shocked someone claimed this was too harsh? This is one of the most mellow episodes of the series. You also give a ton of good advice.
    I definitely think this person should focus primarily on playing rein, they clearly do have some more confidence as rein and seem a LOT more versed in his toolkit. Playing a hero a lot will give more confidence with that hero and the role itself ideally - it's just a matter of time.

  • @taymus13

    He got some great bubbles off in that second fight, the sym when she got hocked and i think that rein when he got charged. Doing damage is important but getting those bubbles down as Zarya can be one of your greatest assets.

    i only want to say one thing regarding the thing you said at 12:30 , "you keep looking behind wondering what you teammateas are doing, you don'thave to worry about them [...] they follow you"
    As a siver rein player... i wish. I truly wish it was like that, but the majority of the time there's at least one genius [insert fast hero here] player rushing forward ahead and, of course, alone only to immediately get picked off because he ran into 2+ players on the enemy team. and once the resto f the team arrive we're in a 5 v 6 and of course we get stomped.
    Well, it also happens the other way aroudn of course, sometimes that genius is on the other side, but it's still completely valid to turn aroudn and see what everyone else is doing.
    On a related note that's how 90% of games are decided in silver/brinze games. whoever gets first pick on a fight wins and then the losing side just doesn't regroup but run in one after the other into a full 6 stack and that's the round... it is so frustrating to sit there as main tank and see your dps, healers or even second tank (hamster players, looking at you) rush ahead and die and then you're standing there with 3 other people vs 6 and you can't go agressive as, for example, rein because your shield evaporates in half a second and then so do you immediately afterwards while not a single enemy dies because you only have 1dps behind you...
    i genuinely do not know how to turn such a situation aroudn with any tank. what do you do? seriously.
    well, then there's ragequitting leavers or dc in, i kid you not, at least 30% of games.

    • @Disappointed_Philosoraptor
      @Disappointed_Philosoraptor 2 роки тому

      well, so he kinda adressed this immediately afterwards, but all it takes is a sequence of bad luck to drop into the deepes,t darkest depths of bronze and for every single MMR you drop down, the amount of toxic people, of DC or ragequitting people and the amonut of not-so-good players increases in every match...
      every loss down near bronze is a step closer to the abyss, and once oyu fall, there' no telling if or when you ever get back out.
      all it takes is a bit of a bad day, be it through mistakes or bad luck.

      @@KyleJRM often enough. every second game? it's often enough to make me expect something or another to go horribly wrong any time i queue. i had evenings of 5-6 games where there was always something like that going down every game. one game there was a masters palyer smurfing on hog and sniping a player on hook cooldown ,(even cofirmed it with his profile later) , nxt game someone dcs, next game there's a speed solder rushing in alone and dying and so on and so forth. even if i am biased it has to be along the lines of 30%. and even if it "evens out" because sometimes oyu have the smurf, sometimes the enemy dcs... it just takes a toll on you to play in that envinronment. stomping a 5 person team isn't exactly a great experience or something you learn from, either.
      if you mean the specific enemy team comp i mentioned, it's of coruse not always these characters but i'd say the most popular tanks down here are sigma and hog. dps wise reaper, junkrat, bastion, soldier, hanzo and a bit less often pharah. in any case, i usually struggle to be able to make plays against a combination of these + hog and orisa/sigma if i am down one or two players. hog especially hardcounters a rein with his hook as soon as the shield is down.

    When I had allot of disconnects I dropped from 2800 to 2100 because of a few disconnects and people throwing games. I'm a offtank player and decided I'll go back up to 2800 playing only rein/maintanks and improve/learn them better.
    I would say I played around 85% rein 10% Winston 5% ball. Even though it would have been better if I had split it more I wanted to learn rein better mostly.
    I learned a couple of things.
    1. Play confident, believe in yourself and your ability to dominate the entire lobby.
    2. Always make sure you are defending at the correct spot/space with sufficient cover to recharge your shield or be able to back up towards your team even against zen comps.
    3. Against zen comps don't wait around, your shield will die first and then your dead. Rotate around them via a different route if you don't have enough shield to get to the enemies. Example go top right up stairs on blizzard world attack past the mega instead of walking right towards point.
    4. When your about to engage through a chokepoint make sure your shield has been recharged, even if the plan is for you to get nannoed go in with a fully charged shield.
    5. When your playing with a zarya don't expect the bubbles 100% of the time or when you want a bubble/want to make a play ask if they have 1 for you.
    6.When your winning the fight/you have a advantage and you have full shield/high enough just shield your teammates untill they secure a few more picks then you can clean up the rest. That way you won't lose the fight because of the enemies ana yeeting in a sleep or anti or whatever.
    7. Be aware of the enemies ultimates and what you can do to deny them value. If they have grav and you have a baptiste, play at a corner so your bap will throw lamp around the corner. Even if you don't have a bap every single enemy will have to peek around that corner and stand in the open to kill your team(mates.)
    8. If your a very agressive rein and you feel like you are not getting healed, check if there is someone on your backline if there is either deal with it or ask the supports to call it out so your aware of it. If a monkey jumps over you turn around a hit him if he's close enough.
    9. Don't be afraid to solo shatter someone who has a ult that can win them a fight/turn it around.
    10. Have fun playing maintank! Sometimes your not getting supported, sometimes your getting hard cc'd. Other times your literally rolling the entire lobby. If your unable to do anything on the hero your playing and your sure it's not because your doing something wrong/it's to difficult just swap.
    11. If your up against a phara, try to shield your dps for a bit if phara focusses them, if she doesn't and your still losing (because your dps can't aim or phara plays to well with cover) go Winston and dive the other support. Ask team to swap to dive.

    I have found that when playing tank, especially when playing rien, sometimes all you have to do is just walk forward and attack, not necessarily get kills left and right. But just getting in their face and people tend to panic and start backing up. That helps build the confidence and just starting the engagement.
    Next just be aware of what's going on. A smart tank pays attention to the battle field just as much as a smart support should. Have a plan, even if that plan goes to shit. Normally I'll pick out the healers, pressure them if I can't kill them at least get them to back off and then find the next closest thing alive to me and try to kill it. Always have the next step in mind before finishing your current one. And always 100% commit to your actions. Either 100 or nothing half assed gets you killed every single time.

    • @GummyDinosaursify
      @GummyDinosaursify 2 роки тому

      I had a game where my tanks (a Rein and Zarya) would not push. They were hiding around corners and as soon as they'd take like 1hp of damage, they'd back up. I think our Ana realized this and she nano'd me as a Brig when I rally'd, I charged foreword with only Reaper next to me and pushed the ENTIRE team back to their spawn because they panicked so bad which gave us the space to push the payload in and win. It's not about if you can get the kills, it's about how much space you can make and the confidence to just get in someone's face. Tanks mostly are responsible for this, but sometimes you can get away with it on DPS or Support too.

      I get that the tanks play at a corner but I don't understand why they would back up. The only thing I can think of is to bait them to overextend and then push up.
      Sometimes when I play support and I got tanks like you mentioned I tell them don't be afraid I got your back. Sometimes all they need to hear is that they will get healing/support. I have had reins who backed up go all the way to enemies spawndoor just by typing that

      I mean, if you can't multitask like that, you're not going to get any better. My Dva is constantly thinking where's the biggest damage coming from, where's the support, is someone on the high ground, is someone pushing the cart, does the enemy have ults, should I take the high ground, where is my team, is someone flanking... It's a lot to take in, but that's what tanking is. If you want a role where that's not really a thing, then DPS is probably the role. Really all you have to worry about is positioning and killing things.

    I feel like people focus to much on kills or not dying. One of the scariest things is a dps that plays to do damage and make plays, but not get 3 kills every fight. For instance when a cree knows his rein has shatter so he flashes over shield, something that simple is a huge team fight sway.

  • @IzThatit
    @IzThatit 2 роки тому

    He doesn't know if he wants to tank or DPS. The issue with Zarya is that she is a DPS if she's in front and tank in the back. She shouldn't be turning to tank if she's got full charge and is pushing in front of the team. The only time she should be in tank damage mitigation mode is when her other tank steps up in front and she has another bubble for them or one of the supports is near her and needs a peel.
    I see what flats is saying about right clicking constantly. Zarya should definitely be right clicking and pushing the teams building ult and charge. That shield health is meant to he sacrificed as it'll recharged when she disengaged with bubble.

    • @Siks7Ate9
      @Siks7Ate9 2 роки тому

      I don't understand what you mean with playing zarya in the back.
      Zarya is a tank if she's 100 charge or 0 charge. You just create more space when you have 100 charge and personal bubble because you can push up. Literally just walk forward with your other tank when your high charge and have personal bubble. What are they going to do? Kill both tanks? Gotta chew through 2 bubbles and not die from max charge zarya who backs up when they used personal bubble.
      If your playing rein zarya Vs rein zarya on attack for example and you have like 60% charge, beam the enemies reinshield a bit and then walk through hotel and start lobbing right-clicks at supports.
      When someone comes to pressure you out self bubble and walk back to your rein. Chances are your rein has already killed the other rein because his shield has cracked and supports are dealing with you or healing themselfs.
      You can also offangle by walking around the rein shield when your rein has shatter. Either you kill the rein or he has to shield you and leave his team open to get shatterd only do this when you have personal bubble. If you don't have personal bubble always make sure your in Los of supports and are close to cover or are able to get out using your personal bubble when you play agressive

    10:02 - I'm hard locked at gold. I'd have made a similar play this however at this point I'd have instantly hit Q even if it was a Solo shatter on the mercy.
    Tell me if that's a bad play. I do this often when I'm rein. I will Solo shatter or a Lucio, Mercy or Ana in a heartbeat. If I see Soldier, Mercy & Moira grouped like that it's like the starts are aligned.

    • @D1G1TS420
      @D1G1TS420 2 роки тому

      I would only call it a missplay if the fight was already won or if multiple teammates have popped ults and shatter would just be overkill.
      Solo shatter is perfectly fine if you secure a kill that can't be rezzed or to swing momentum back in your team's favor.
      I think it's a bigger missplay to hold onto ults waiting for that massive 6k. You might wait 3 minutes for that when you could have shattered and built a second one in that amount of time.

      Yeah idk a lot of good mercy's dmg boost coal unless a more powerful ult is being popped or your hitscan/pharah is popping off. Coal ignores shields and so you get a lot of free damage and potential kills because you don't need to break shields and the enemy doesn't expect it to kill that quickly.
