I'm an English professor from the United States, and recently I decided to start my own channel to teach English with video games. Since I started, I've been watching other UA-camrs that teach English (even if the video is taught in a language I don't understand), and I just wanted to say that your videos are particularly good. All of your videos that I've watched so far have great English lessons in them.
Hi, yes, great video 👌 Have you noticed that each time someone asks you "Tell me a good joke you know ", you can’t think of any !? 😂 Sorry, Anna. I didn’t know the knock-knock jokes, I liked the "Lettuce Who? Let us in" one 😉 And my husband tells too many Dad jokes in my opinion, I didn’t know this phrase but there you go, we're parents, so fair enough 😂
Knock knock. - Who's there? 'A miss'. -A miss who... 'A miss you too!' Knock knock. - Who's there? 'Doris.' - Doris who? ... 'Doris Locked, open that bloody door!'
I bring you guys a brazilian joke that i love. The single father had to go to the market and left his three sons alone: Francisco, 9 years old, Antonio, 7 years old, and Luiz, 4 years old. He said to them: - Boys, I'm going to the market quickly, I want you all to behave in my absence. When the father came back he asked them: - Boys, what did you do in my absence? - I washed the dishes - said Francisco - I dried the dishes - said Antonio - And I swept up the broken pieces - said Luiz
I love this and I find videos like these so helpful! I'm a non native speaker with decent English proficiency. I did get an 8 in my IELTS but still struggle sometimes during the work meetings since they often involved a lot of jokes and I often am unable to understand local phrases/idioms that are more relaxed and informal.
Fun story, albeit a bit off-topic. I learned the word “rapport” from the video game Dark Souls. In the game, “rapport” is a spell to temporary draw an enemy to your side, meaning they or it becomes your ally. So you're forming a connection with them and now they now wanna fight for you, not against you. Video games are such good teachers at times :)
A great witticism I like a lot and that you probably know. On day, Lady Astor, a political opponant to Winston Churchill was very upset with him and told him: 'Sir, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea !' To which Winston stoically replied: 'Madam, if you were my wife, I would gladly drink it !' 😂 Witty Winston!
@@EnglishLikeANativeI' d already come across this 'genre' before watching your video, I heard these jokes mainly In movies or series. They are kind of childish and this 'pureness' is what I like the most. I don't think in Italian there are jokes starting with: Toc toc (knock knock)🚪 🤡
'My wife had her credit card stolen' - Really? In what world we live in! This is terrible! 'Well, not that much basically, according to the bank, it seems the thief is spending less' ...
Two friends are driving in a desert area when the passenger asks the driver to stop because he has to pee a lot. Hardly stopped, the guy rushes to relieve himself near a bush when suddenly a rattlesnake jumps out, popping up from behind the bushes and bites him right at the tip of his penis. He moans and rolls on the ground in pain and his distraught colleague, not knowing what to do, decides to call a doctor friend of his acquaintance for advice... The latter recommends a tourniquet and to quickly suck the wound! Worried, twisted in pain and impatient his bitten buddy asks: "So, what does he say? ... The other hangs up, looks at him and goes: "He says you're gonna die!..."
Hello. Anna🌺, very grateful! Good luck 🎉

Hello Anna, that was a wonderful & amusing new video, it learnt me some new jokes & I enjoyed your use of tv comedy clips. :)

Do you have an Italian version of knock knock jokes?

an old man died when he was young
All good, but 'subtlety is not unique to English language culture', all languages have their own.
I completely agree with you
