I Don't think there is another team in the competition right now in 2023 that could match the potency of this team in both defence & attack. When they really wanted to, they routed teams. Conquered all that came before them at a time when all the teams were going Thompson, Ross Lyon, Paul Roos, Longmire, Malthouse defensive game styles.
I know and I became selfish and wanted so much for Hodge to lead the team to another Grand Final. I have seen the dominant eighties and the recent decade of up down and then just being the class of the AFL. I do believe that in 2018 we will come out blazing and the whole league will shudder.
Just watching how good we used to be makes me tear up and be glad I was alive to witness this team
