For those who actually want to know what nervous system pain feels like - it's like being boiled alive in oil. I got a rare condition in my spine and prior to an emergency surgery had episodes with entire lower body going through episodes such as that. Instant multiplication if you moved even a little, and dull ever persisting presence of it if you stayed completely still, scared to breathe. Spiking with every attempt to move. Trying to sit up and actually walk - it would be amazing if you got back to bed without fainting out of pain on the toilet seat or on your way there or back... just to make a singular example. Two weeks when it got agitated before it calmed down, ever now and then, each time when the spine got too stressed. Only way to make it stop - time and doing absolutely noting. And no it is not sciatic thing, it does not fix by exercises but gets worse - like stated a rare thing. Yes painkillers enough to make your dinner fly 3 meters into curtains as you throw up cause you was given just a bit too much. Oh and they do just pump you up full of set opiates doing nothing more unless you actually start loosing abilities for normal function aka get paralysis symptoms the likes of not being able control various body parts - functions. As in you do nothing but wait for the inflammation causing it to die down. Would have ended up paralyzed had there not been that surgery, practically had to learn to walk again and even now there are regions in lower limbs and ass that got no sense of feeling what so ever. Well that's about it for those who write, cause I am getting bored with people describing pain without knowing much about it.

I was electrocuted in 1997. Welder grounded out thru me. In the right hand and out the left knee. Took about 5 months to be able to move around on my own again. Still don't have any feeling in the outside of my left leg. Now dealing with neck and back issues from it. Was able to stay in the Army. Folks give me weird looks in the few fights where I've been stabbed in my leg and don't feel it. Changes their attitude quick.

@@grogvaughan5649 ...and here comes the Drug Enforcement Agency, absolutely positively convinced that ALL pain patients (yes, you too, Bunky!) are lying about their suffering and selling their legal opioids to addicts (shudder!) who then *overdose and DIE!!* (sob sniff, wipes away a tear).
Could that possibly have anything to do with state after state legalizing cannabis?
Doesn't that mean the staties can't help the Feddies with cannabis investigations?
And could THAT lead to the DEA's arrest and conviction stats declining?
Might it then have a negative impact on their budget increase requests?
"You shall suffer the agonies of hell!!" scream DEA officials, froth flying from lips curled in self-righteous sneers, who then set out to arrest any doctors who dare to write opioid-based prescriptions for patients whose broken bodies are making them suffer the agonies of the damned.
Once again the old warning about running for the hills comes to mind: When you hear "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you!" run like the devil himself is running next to you, a look of terror on his Satanic visage.
The DEA cares about one thing only: Hanging on to their high-status badges and cushy federal paychecks. The fact that they may become victims of their own enthusiasm (once old age sets in and body parts fail to function properly) never seems to occur.
As the CDC's own statistics show, the majority of overdose deaths are due to opioids combined with alcohol, opioids of unknown toxicity ... and the true killer: illegal fentanyl!
Very few doctors (if any) prescribe fentanyl outside of a supervised medical setting, such as a hospital or hospice care. The overdoses are intentional, willingly consumed, and too often caused by drugs of questionable quality (aka cooked up in someone's garage or a cartel warehouse) and unknown potency.
But, hey, it's all the fault of pain patients making a big deal out of a little discomfort. Just ask the politicians who trot out grieving family and friends of overdose victims while running for election on the "drugs BAD!!" platform.

20:23 . . His legs trembling, he stands and walks towards the door . . .
21:20 . . He's still restrained, so he strains against them and breaks them. .
The AI *FORGOT* that he had already stood and walked. .
    TOTAL CRAP!!!

One thing I would like to know. . . Were Armstrong's nerves "raw and frayed"?
Perhaps you should have written it (or programmed the AI to write it) just one EXTRA time. . After all. . Mentioning "nerves raw and frayed" *TWELVE TIMES* might not have been enough.

Reminds me of a short story by Roald Dahl, Beware of Dog, published in 1946.

Too much repetition. Good story. I half expected the escape to be another simulation. The story also seems to borrow from other stories. AI generated?
