So ...if Judah would have presented Ta’mar to She’lah then Judah would have done the right thing and either She’lah would have also been taken out by God, or She’lah would have fathered an heir to the messiah that was of bad Canaanite blood, ruining the pure lineage.

@@atomanatomy6973 The Old Testament is a prelude to the New Testament. Prophecies made in the Old are fulfilled in the New. No other document relates, explains and completes the Hebrew Scriptures like the New Testament does. If you reject it, there is no other reference that will make sense of the Old Testament. The two references I gave you in Matthew and Luke answer your question about David’s lineage. - MM
@@bibletalktv if the old testament says the lineage of David has to be traced through the fathers side and jesus doesn't have a phycal father how then can the new testament claim be correct if the old testament states that. And I said I wanted to know where it claims from the old testament cause clearly the new testament sends me confusion and deception
I hear that in so many of these presentations. I would like to know where they get it from. Judah lived in Canaan around Canaanites is not a good answer. Isaac lived in Canaan as well be he did not have Canaanite wife.

She wanted children so "got with" Judah rather than some riff raff. As for the exact population of an area at that time is a big ask, bounce it off chatGPT to get a lead of sorts.

The Lord has some strange ways of steering things so that the lineage to Messiah is not lost or contaminated. Jacob and Esau twins, Judah and his bad decisions, and even the next generation the twins of Pha’res and Za’rah. Za’rah stuck his hand out first, but Pha’res was still the one firstborn. If Ta’mar was also Canaanite but to a lesser degree, then similar to Jacob and Esau the one may have carried the hybrid gene while the other did not.

Where in the old testament does it say which twin from judah took the line to David? You said that it came from Perez, but what verse ?
