Stupid question: my FJR1300 has only 5 gears. What should I do in L mode after 5th gear is learned?
Great video really help me to install mine. Mine is all fitted with ignition on the L will flash slowly. With the bike turned on the L will flash faster. The L does not change to 1 even with the bike running for over 5 mins. Do you have any ideas what could be wrong? Cheers
I had that problem, I believe in my case, I changed the wire I spliced it from to the other one there. That should do it.
@@thesaunders i think you speak about the green one. I tried on both wires ( light gray and than dark gray) . None of them worked..
The L is flashing slow before you start the bike, and after you start the engine it should start flashing faster.. entering in programming mode, but mine doesn't do that. It stays flashing slowly.. it drives me crazy.
@@teodor.N I really don’t know then! I don’t know much more about them!!
You connected all the wires under the gas tank, right? Those white is simple, mother and father type, the red one to a power cable, and the green one should have worked with the camshaft senzor wires.. but fuck it, it didn't.
@@teodor.N yeah. I just did the bits in the video. Should have worked!!
Hi I’ve fitted one of these to my 2005 R6. When riding it jumps from one gear number to another without me even changing gear. I connected the cables as per this video and used the grey cable to the green cable. Do you think it might be the black cable instead as I feel I’m getting wrong readings.
It may be worth swapping the cables over and seeing.
Will that be the same process for the 2008 r1?
That, I’ve never tried.. sorry!
What if mine learned only till 4th speed and not 6th? How can I reset it all over again?
There is a simple way but I'm so sorry I can't remember what it is!!
6 times torn key and will caunt from 6 to 1 and automaticy go in L mod (LEARNING)
Mine just stucks at "n" after 1 and then it does nothing.
It may be on the wrong wire, or, I had it happen before, the item was faulty.
Why not feed a piece of wire through, tape it to the indicator and wiggle it through ?
Certainly would have worked better in hindsight.
Man, it worked for you?
I did exactly the same wiring but it stays the L flashing.. it doesn't appear 1 at all.. I waited a lot with the engine on..
I think the green one should have been wired to the dark grey one.. i don't know but it won't work for me, yamaha r1 2005 rn12
I’ve done it the same on 2 different R1’s. I don’t know why it wasn’t working in yours.
Why that can't be connected to the battery to give power to the gear indicator
How is your wire so long?!🙈😂
