    Small firms can be even better. You can slave away for 100k at a big firm or be partner with your own hours for 180k at a small firm. What sounds better to you?

    Omg hey girl!!!! You said my name right girl. Thank you so much girl I'm cheesing so hard! You totally made my day girl. I really needed this and you confirmed what I heard before buy just really wanted your side on it. I liked how you mentioned your mother worked a lot so you wanted to be more active when you became a mother. That is the exact same story for me. My mother was soooo busy when I was growing up and I was the only child so for me it really made me wanted to be present in my kids life (when I have them). But I'm not worried about having special hours or not working over time, like I fully know what I am getting myself into in this field, I just don't want to be married to my job. I want some work/life balance. Thanks so much again girlfriend!

      +Irene Y Hi love, thank you for checking up :) Everything is fine...... threw me off a bit because I've never dealt with a situation like that before. But I learned from it and it's helping me bring my channel in a better direction going forward :) I appreciate you for caring, doll!

    Hi Stephie. I found your channel, when I was looking for accounting related youtube videos. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and information about accounting on your channel. It is especially helpful for people like me who are at the beginning of their accounting career. Really nice overview on the big 4 or mid-tier type of companies. please keep doing accounting related vlogs. I love them... :)

    I'm a little afraid of transferring to my Big Four in the US. In the Bahamas the office is so chill, my coworkers are so caring, my manager... ehh, she could use a little work, but all in all everyone, even those in the second office on a different island, seem so nice and understanding. They changed the interns' pay method and I told them due to that I would have trouble making rent so HR proposed a salary advance of $250 and apologized. But maybe that's just how my people are. Bahamians tend to be nice. I don't have much experience with Americans. Great video! AH, I added you on snapchat over the weekend. Saw the 100+ upload wait haha

    • @WithStephie
      @WithStephie  8 років тому +1

      +Philly Mun hahaha I've never had an upload time that long.... cray! It will definitely be a different culture. I really hope you find people at your firm in the US who are caring and interested in you progressing in your career. I have a good friend who I worked with at the Big 4 who was from St. Lucia. Her happy personality definitely made working so much better and more fun... so I truly hope it all works out :) And if not.... come to my firm ;)

      +Stephienese That's really nice of you. Which firm is that? I have one of those bubbly personalities that's all "puppies, candy, we can do it, rainbows" feel but I feel some people undermine that and take it as naivety...

    Aghh, such great information, I have so many questions. Ok, as a accounting student about to get my associates in Oct this year, my question is what sort of jobs are available to people like me. I would like to start working as soon as I have the degree as I will be already enrolled and taking classes toward my bachelor degree. I feel like am such a newbie on here and you are all so accomplished. Second question I have is how can one tell the levels of firms. For instance I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I have no clue. I feel like I could just sit with you for hours and pick your brain. My overall goal is to become CPA certified and move onto Forensic accounting. Anyway, some guidance would be greatly appreciated . P.S. I pretty much drive like you yelling at these rude cars that cut you off. 😂😂 Thanks again for all the wonderful information. Can not wait till your next car chats comes out. Cindy

      :) I actually have an assessment tomorrow for one of the Big 4 (for a graduate programme here in London) and I was wondering if you could please give me insight into what women wear during the interview? Not sure how formal to be. Thanks! :)

    • @WithStephie
      @WithStephie  8 років тому

      +NI J good luck tomorrow love! You can wear a skirt, pants or dress, just be sure to wear a blazer. The blouse doesn't necessarily have to be a collared blouse. You can wear a shell and still look sharp. Hope this helps and sending good vibes your way!

    I just found your channel and I love your accounting related videos!
    I was offered a job at a regional firm and a big 4 firm and chose to take the regional firm's offer. I've been having major FOMO about the big 4 firm, but your personal experiences confirmed some of my thoughts, thank you!!
    I'm also applying for the CPA exam right now, so your CPA exam videos have been a HUGE encouragement!!

    Hi Stephie!!! I have a question that may seem like a no brainier but it's about time management. How on earth are you able to work as much as you do, be a wife to your husband, mommy to Juicy and function like a normal adult? You mentioned that you've been working for the entire weekend during busy season but you don't look tired or stressed. Any advice??? And I love "Stephie Says" 😊

    • @WithStephie
      @WithStephie  8 років тому +2

      +Sherina Sabal I chose a good day to film.... I was a MESS the week before, no eye liner, flats and drinking Red Bull (terrible I know). But I will definitely do a video to share a little of what works for me!
