Hi Tito, its a great break trough for me, amazing consequences and shocked by the ease of playing and the sparkling sound. Tomorrow I'm getting 70 years old. Thanks for the present for my B.day.

Tito. I tried the “horizontal” exercise. I believe I understood your instructions about lower body support and the jaw tongue motion. I think by “horizontal” you meant don’t change the lips from the middle “G” position. (Please clarify if you meant the direction of airflow.)
I had some success at reaching a half-step or two above my normal range. However, when I slurred from middle G to high G to middle G and back up to the higher harmonics, I was able reach several notes higher. It seemed that the action of the jaw and tongue were more pronounced that way. I’ll keep working on it.
Thanks for your great instruction. I am sorry I didn’t find you sooner!

It’s all about experimentation from this point. Don’t be worried if your way is not exactly like mine. If it sounds good and feels easy, that is your path!

The way to offset tension when you’re playing soft in the upper register is through the intense use of your lower body breath support. Specifically I like to focus on bringing the abdomen in (Maynard talked about belly button to spine) while simultaneously squeezing my glutes, but be sure not to blow harder when engaging the lower body. I expend a lot of energy down there when playing high, even at a soft dynamic. But above the belly button the body should stay relaxed in the chest, shoulders, and neck. Try that and let me know!

Hey, thanx so much Tito, I began trying to play in the relaxed way you did and it really made the difference. It's way much easier!!! Thank you for sharing this with us.

Watched all four videos, such amazing stuff, Tito! I love your bringing in Sarah and Doug to demonstrate and validate your points. Your approach and manner us so clear and concise. Its so great how you share your journey and process with everyone. Now time for me to start practicing some long tones!

Hey Tito! Thanks for splitting that video into chunks. I know it's helped me digest the content. So I've had a G for a few years with very little progress through my break. I'll admit during the summer, I was so busy gigging that I didn't pick up the horn during the week to practice. However, the plateau I had reached made it possible to gig as often as I did. Now things are slowing and I'm wanting to finally crash through this break. Double A has always been incredibly difficult to slot. Also I noticed in my playing that when I'm playing super soft, I feel more tension in my face? Any insight?

Are you retracting the lower jaw a bit? I don't think you can avoid that. At least I can't. And the air stream direction moves. It seems to go down, but I've seen literature that says to ascend above the staff, you "aim the airstream" higher in the mp cup.

Yes, I am retracting the jaw, that’s not something I mention in this video. Might need to aim the air slightly up to more you retract the jaw when ascending. Still somewhat horizontal, maybe aim 10-15 degree angle up

We must first get high, then playing is guaranteed.
