@@nuupster Lol I don't think he's lazy, I think his mom just became super protective and did everything for him after the injury. Honestly makes sense, after her child went through such a traumatic experience at a young age.
It’s crazy how having a loving partner brings out so much more is a person. Having that level of support from someone who loves you really helps you soar beyond

Wow. Cole is crazy strong considering what muscles he's actually able to use! That is no easy task moving a 6 ft 3 body into a bed w shoulders and biceps only! Impressive
An able body person does not think twice when getting into bed. This video makes me even more grateful for the littlest thing like lifting my legs to get into bed or just simply taking my clothes off. Cole you are doing awesome for trying to be more independent. Charisma your hair grew so much, your curls be poppin girl Btw I’m glad to report it’s not cold anymore here in South Fl lol

Yes, I get in and out of bed several times a day on my days off (I nap and lay down A LOT...I have CFS). I do so without even thinking, straight just jump in and jump out to my leisure, it’s not something I could ever imagine putting such thought into. Honestly, I rate these guys and how they have adapted to the adversities, good folks man
I am so proud of how they have developed. Charisma is really good for Cole and Cole is really good for Charisma. Cole has really come a long way. He really has the perfect wife.

CheezeTotz Nd soda are you kidding? This video literally shows him doing a huge amount of his self care, and talks about how much more independent he has become. He has said himself, “every quad is different”...how can you watch someone else’s video and judge that THIS person is not doing what he “could be doing” or that he should do more. That is an extremely judgemental statement to make and not kind at all.

I'm amazed at how far Cole has come to assist himself in his evening routine. This truly allows Charisma some her time but she's always nearby. What a team!

It’s so nice seeing charisma be so patient with cole. Some ppl might say “why not just do it for him he’s seems tired or looks exhausted” “it’ll be faster if she just does it” trust me my family does that to me and sometimes that can get frustrating because I can do it I just take a little longer or sometimes a lot longer. It gives cole more independence
I admire her. She's got her partner with her, and they're sharing life together in the moments they have. I'm learning to do this too.

Yeah, I could see myself being one of those, “Let me just do it for you”. But, I do get that in the long run, it’s much better for him to do as much stuff himself as possible. It just is hard to watch someone you love struggle and your instinct is to want to make life as easy as you can for them.

All that hard work to get in bed which only takes an able-bodied person less than one second, gives me such a deep appreciation for how hard Cole works to maintain his independence. He must give so much hope to others just like him. Amazing.

That’s actually pretty impressive that you can do all that on your own. I’ve noticed over time from watching your guys videos that the longer you two are together the more you’ve learned to be more independent. It’s like charisma gives you more confidence in yourself. And she encourages you. It’s beautiful to see. You two are a good team.
Cole should get an electric toothbrush! I’m a dental hygienist and we always recommend electric toothbrushes to patients with limited dexterity because the electric toothbrush does all the work for them! And you guys can share the same electric toothbrush as long as you switch the toothbrush heads! 😊

Sonic brushes are awesome. They're nearly as good as getting a polishing done by a dental hygienist.
We did look into a fancier electric toothbrush but this one worst really well for Cole.
The amount of effort and determination it took for you to do something most people take for granted was humbling.
I love their home videos soooo much. It just gives me peace the way they interact, the way they've made their house cozy and accessible, and then seeing Sophie 😭 y'all, my heart! This channel is so heartwarming ❤

One of my take aways from this video is that you made me aware that there is learning and development that happens when one is injured. That may sound really naive, but it really was an eye opener for me to hear Cole say how he used to do certain activities and how he's learned and adapted different ways to maneuver. What an awesome, educational video, you guys! Love your humor and flirting too!

@@artprincessable His shoes rest on his wheelchair footrests, no need for shoes/feet to be on the ground for people who use wheelchairs. As a matter of fact, with people without any sensation on their feet, their feet on the ground could become very dangerous, wheels can become entangled with them.

I have so much respect for Cole. His routine is tough but he's tougher. I admire his drive, confidence, and overall positive attitude.
It‘s so cool seeing Cole become more independent, even years after his injury! It just shows that recovering function isn‘t just what it‘s about- it‘s also what you do with the function level you have, and always learning new skills. You guys are awesome!

Hi Cole&Charisma, I have a suggestion.
Cole said,”my handy dandy metal reacher can be kind of rough on my hand if I use it for awhile.”
I was thinking if you could cover it with something it won’t be rough on your hand.
For example if you go to a gym all equipments are made of metal but somehow they cover some area of them in order to be used for hrs without getting hurt.( places which your legs, feet ,hands or even whole your body in contact ).
Maybe glueing a bit of rubber on the inside would help

I am old enough to be your parents though my kids are much younger. I have adopted you two in my heart since I discovered you a few months ago and really pray for good for you. I see my husband and myself in you guys(same interacial combo eventhough non of us is disabled) and brings me so much joy to see how you care for each other. Cole you are doing great very proud of you. Charisma you are so fit and beautiful and a loving wife. You deserve each other 100%!
Hello Cole and Charisma. I just want to say that I really enjoy your videos and I get so much warmth and love and joy from the two of you. So I wanted to tell you guys something. I'm disabled and have a service dog he's been with me for 12 years. he was trained for a total of 2 years in the beginning so he is retiring soon. Cole you were working so hard. I was so amazed at your determination to get yourself in the bed on the bed taking your clothes off your shoes off socks off it took so much strength and perseverance. However a service dog that is trained properly can take your shoes off, can pull easily pull your socks right off your feet too. many things that you're probably not even thinking of right now I don't know. But that's why Sophie is there to assist you to make your life easier to be your best pal and devoted caregiver. Maybe you want to do it all yourself so I don't know. Maybe for you it's super important and that's cool too. I'm just saying my service dog is so awesome I'm so blessed to have been given this dog to go by the side of me and walk through life helping me. You guys have a great night or day whenever you read this if you read this. Merry Christmas and I'll see you in your next video
