Very nice and comprehensive comparison!!! I am not a quilter or a sewist, but an Embroiderer. Is a shame that you do not distribute either PFAFF or Viking so you could compare them too. I am super amazed that PFAFF and Viking offer something that no one else have, and that is the Embellishment Attachment that can be used to add beads, sequins, yarn and ribbons to your projects!!!! I wish there would be a machine with that attachment together with the PhotoPlay from Brother, and the Jumbo Stitch and Free Arm Embroidery of the Bernina. That is my Holy Grail Machine!!!! But I liked this video a lot, it shows how advanced these machine have gone so far, specially for me that I learned Free Motion Embroidery on a Singer 301 (I still have it)!!!!
Yes, I wish they had also compared the Viking Epic 3. I sold my Luminaire and Solaris after I bought and used the E3. I have the embellishment attachment, but have not used it yet. I love the Specialty stitches.
The 990 (and many other Berninas) have a feature for determining buttonhole size as well. You hold your button up to the on screen circle and use the knob to make the circle the same size as your button. The machine adjusts the buttonhole accordingly. Another great Bernina feature is Creative Consultant. You tell it what fabric and what application and it suggests needle size, threads, feet, but most importantly, once you confirm your needle, thread and feet, the machine automatically resets the correct tension and stitch. There are so many things like that built in that many never learn about or use because they don’t get or take the guide classes.
This is a very good video, but I wanted to point out that the LuminaireXPIII does have Picture Play. I regularly take the kids sand art pics from the beach and turn them into embroidery all from my Brother XPIII.
Courtney thanks for the comparison .I have a Dream and Luminaire love them both but thinking the new Aveneer .boy their making harder and harder not to trade my Dream .thanks love all your shows so much info.
Thank you, your video was very helpful. Although I'm not personally in the market as I plan to keep my Luminaire 2, I will share your video with a few ladies I know. As always, Courtney you've done a fantastic video!
Thanks Courtney. ❤ Please can you tell us what the length of the machines are end to end with their embroidery units attached, plus the depth measurements especially with the added unit that fits the rear of the Aveneer? Is there a mat for the Aveneer to stand on like the Luminaire has? ❤❤❤
the lack of a ruler foot on the Brother machines drives me nuts. I had to try 3 before I found one I liked on Lumi. Just include it at that price point!
I know they aren't making the Luminair any more but do you think any of the things for the Aveneer, like stitch regulator will be made available to the Luminair. I know Brother said it will still be supported. Just wondering. I've only had my machine XP3 for less than a yr so a new machine isn't in the forcast. Except now, maybe Babylock's Aplaud.

Thank you for doing this for us -- waiting on the spouse's agreement...

I have a Luminaire, would love to get the Aveneer...and now would like to upgrade my Bernina as well, lol. We need to win the lottery 😄

wow!! Thank you for being so thorough and detailed in the comparisons. THANK YOU. You answered so many questions!

excellent comparison . Makes my choice a lot easier. thank you
Great comparisons. Thank you.
Excellent overview of the three machines. 🙂
Great video comparison, thanks so much. I am happy with my Viking Epic3, but I like to know what I might be missing.

Thanks for the good comparison. Really helped me make up my mind
Glad I could help!
Thank you very much....really helpful and very much appreciated.
I'd love if you do a deep dive into the new baby Lock Creative Cover Stitch machine.
Very helpful!!!
Thanks for this comparison ❤
Thanks for watching!
EXCELLENT wrap up of the differences! Love your presentation! Do not like Bernina. History there...
Nice comparison
Thank you!

❤❤❤
Great comparison video. Would it be possible to show the over 200 embroidery designs that they added to the Aveneer?
Thanks for the comparison! Do you know if the 10-thread spool holder that fits on the luminaire will fit on the Aveneer or is there a different one?

Brother Sews on FB says no 😢
I believe that bernina has something comparable to my design center.
Thanks for this but these machines are to expensive I wish I could afford one
The free arn hoop does come with the machine... The small one.
The bernina does have a projector
No, but is has four point pinpoint placement and four point morph which is very accurate in placement.
Why are comparing Brother machine with another brother machine from a few years ago?
What size is the free arm hoop on the 990??
www.allbrands.com/products/107986-bernina-106681-70-00-large-freearm-embroidery-hoop. 5.7 x 10”. Be sure to use code BERNINA to save 20%.
The price of the Aveneer is cost prohibitive.
Does the Aveneer have USB ports?
Yes =)
2 usb ports and uses wireless mouse
@@lidabard2121 thank you
