Hello Taylor family! Gosh, boat yards are so much fun, ain't they! Haulouts bring a new stress level, then everything just works out. Back in the wet, and she runs like new. Good footage and good boat handling, I feel no stress myself! Even though your posts are a bit delayed from actuality, they are something to look forward to every week...like a TV 'soap opera"! Thanks, and all the best! Jerry
Hi Jerry. The Haul outs are stressful that is for sure. The one we did in the Canaries was done by a travel lift / sling. We had to motor Mokara between 2 concrete walls and pretty much had no space for fenders so used pool noodles at the tightest points. It is always nice to be back in the water with the boat clean and ready for another season. Wishing you a merry Christmas and all the best for 2024.
Lovely waters at the anchorage-- nice footage, good fun. A hairy haul out process, but interesting to watch. Great that Mokara gets a tune up. That net work doesn't look fun! All busy on the sail bag. Mokara looking pretty. It must feel good knowing you're all set to share your amazing lifestyle with visiting friends.
Hi Frank and merry Christmas. Mokara looked great after we completed all of the work we had planned and completed. The trampoline replacement wasn't the easiest leaving us with painful hands and sore backs. The result was worth it. We should have taken a spare trampoline with us from the med in hindsight as it was inevitable that we would need to replace it at some point. Take care.
Despite the work, the yard was fun. The pressure was on to be back in the water in time for our friends arrival. This is a fantastic boat yard. The team really work hard and are fun to be around.
Hey there Taylors! My poor computer is a little unwell at the moment. 😞 The part I need will arrive in about two weeks and hopefully I'll be back then. Toddle-ooh!
Hi. Ours too. We have sent it in for repairs so no more videos until it has been repaired which is frustrating for us. Hopefully we will be up and running again by the end of next week.
Hi and thanks for watching and for the comment. We watched the Archer episodes and really felt for them as they had some serious damage. I am however always impressed by yards like this that have such skilled and friendly staff that manage to repair damage so well. Despite bing on the hard in this yard, we still had a good time.
Hi folks. Just found your channel and like and subscribed. Usual get to know questions. What country are you from.? Names etc. I see I have some binge watching to do. Looking forward to that. Thanks for sharing. Atb from down here in Nz.
Hi Bryan. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. We are originally from South Africa. We then moved to the U.K. and from there decided to set off on a sailing adventure. I am Shawn, my wife is Claire and we have 2 boys, Dylan and Nathan. We are huge fans of NZ and it is one of our favourite places in the world. You are very lucky to live there. Enjoy it. Take care and stay in touch.
@@SailingMokara hi folks. You may or may not know this, but we have a big population from S.A...living down here. In fact one of my SA mates introduced me to braai. And some super markets sell it. Not sure how genuine it is, but it tastes great. Atb from down here.
