I first heard his Quran Recitation when I was barely 16yrs old in Johannesburg, Republic South Africa. It was very impressive. The great Sheikh was a very humble man.

When I was 10 yrs old I heard abt him from my late father. I m 65 yrs old now. When cassette tape n CD Were available I used to listen to his beautiful soothing recitation. May ALLAH reward him abundantly. InsyaALLH.
