My channel has gone a long way since I uploaded this piece (which happened to be my first classical upload). I've switched over from mostly a jazz channel to mostly a classical channel, I've updated my set up and drastically improved my visual effects as well as the general quality of my videos. Looking back, this video is really the beginning of that transformation, and watching it makes me proud of the work I've put into the channel. If you want to check out a big project I've recently finished working on, here's my video of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto 2 where I play the 2nd movement, accompanied by a virtual orchestra that I recorded and produced myself. The whole project took me a couple weeks and over a 100 hours in total. ua-cam.com/video/RQ4Dkb2LRkc/v-deo.html
OMG YEESS! I've been waiting for a long time for someone on UA-cam to do this piece with a visualizer like that! :) Amazingly well played on that amazingly HARD and beautiful piece!
Exquisite performance! I love how delicately and accurately you play the piece - many of these virtuostic performances have extremely fast hands that look downright painful, but your playing is relaxed. Good job!
Dang it, another piano visualizer I'm going to end up subscribing to. Oh well, there are worse things to be obsessed with. I'm requesting Liszt ballade no 2.
@@lucaslorentz I mean he has played both the first ballade like a god and he also played the fourth transcendental etude which I would rank as harder than this. He also played HR2 which I do agree is pretty overplayed and its difficulty is maybe overstated but I would still say that it is for sure harder than this. I dont even agree that this is the most difficult ballade of his I actually think that it is the 1st and I have friends and teachers who also think that way which still though it is subjective. But even though rosseau isn't a virtuoso or a musical genious like Traum he is FOR SURE better than 99% of all musicians, and of all the people who have been on the channel I think the actual original rosseau plays the best considering I don't really like the revolutionary etude, the scriabin etude or the mozart sonata no 8 in a minor which were all played by different pianists on his channel. Out of everyone I for sure think that rosseau the actual rosseau is the best. He has also played some challenging Chopin etudes himself and generally I think he plays really beautifully but thats very subjective. On the matter of technical abilities though rosseau is for sure not the best being probably the least capable in technical abilites among the 3 main ones I watch (kassia, traum and ofc rosseau). I would rank him at about the same place as tom for technical abilities maybe a bit higher although I might be overestimating toms abilities since I haven't watched him in a long time. I would say I prefer kassia and traum over rosseau with kassia and traum being on about the same musical level with traum beating the hell out of all the famous ones with his technical skills and repertoire.
incredibly wellplayed. how much time this piece took from you to learn ?? i just finished the first ballade in G minor. And am planing to start to learn this 4th in F minor !!
the only synthesia type channel that has ballade 4 cool stuff great performance aswell. i understand how difficult this piece is im stuck on the coda, i have been for months lol. are you using a vst ? if so which one it sounds great. keep going man you will soon blow up
Thanks, yes that's why I did it. I'm trying to avoid doing pieces that have already been done by Rousseau or Kassia (although there's some that I'll wanna do myself because I might have very different interpretations). I'm using a vst but it's a bunch of different sounds mixed together and I changed the eq and reverb and a couple other things
@@mrpianist1017 if you can play ballade 1 competently then you will be able to do no 4 but i will say musically and technically no 4 is very difficult to achieve. phrasing/nuancing throughout the whole is difficult is also the coda is very difficult, but in my opinion if you can play the coda from no1 you will be able to do no 4 BUT there is many different techniques used in no 4 that are very very difficult such as double thirds/ complex 6:4 polyrhytms, double arpeggios such as in the ocean etude and many more. it really is all his etudes in one piece. its very difficult. but no 1 is also very difficult if you can do no 1 I'm confident you can do this.

@Gizio definitely not, he probably loves this piece a lot and it was out of his skill level but he has been working on it for a while and finally got it good enough for youtube
Why does every synthesia youtuber put no feeling into any piano piece, like the only pianist I know that does is Kassia. The fact that u slowed down the notes to make it look "harder" is so sacrilegious. Nice try but put more effort buddy this piece is a ballade, not a hanon exercise.
There are several moments where he puts his own expression in the piece, almost at every moment, i can feel what he plays is sincerely rich with feeling. Also i think it's the setting of his mic that doesnt register the difference between forte/piano well, because sure it picks up higher notes better than lower ones for sure. About the movement of the notes, i dont think the intention was for it to look harder?? I think it was to match the darkness of the environment, id think that faster paced synthesia would make it feel more intense to be honest. I wont say youre one of the people who "hates it because he cant play it" because thats probably not true. You just dislike how he plays this piece. But remember, he still learned chopins most difficult ballade. Thats why even though i think he could play better, i still respect him, and dont say rude/demoralizing comments on his youtube channel when you couldve said a comment giving feedback and caused so many less troubles for those who read it. In the end, it only makes you look bad, and people just look past the feedback. It is rude and inefficient.
