      It's called 'Vinsanity'. Toronto totally disrespected him there at the end of his tenure in T.O. and basically never appreciated what he did for our city. Strange way to treat someone after they spend 10+ years playing there. I think he was the greatest player to play the game after Michael but he just had the misfortune of playing for crap teams in his career.

      Just saw channel and I subscribed instantly. I love how you dont pretend to know what you are talking about if you don't. You watch and learn as you go and thats perfect. Vince is amazing, you should check out Air Up There from the And 1 team. Amazing jumper, perfect body control and he is actually pretty short for the air he gets. I hope you do, And 1 team in general is amazing, all of them

    Vince Carter is the man who ruined the dunk contest. It's made a little comeback since but they had to jump over cars and all other kinds of props were used after him. One man, one ball, he shut the show down. Greatest dunker of all time.

      @@razkable Kobe (RIP) and co in the 1998 dunk contest ruined it in the "well this is boring" way.
      Vince ruined it in the "there's no topping this.". Supposedly, had T. Mac made his last dunk in the final round of the 2000 dunk contest, Carter would have attempted a 720 dunk.

    Great reaction as usual. Carter is the best in-game dunker of all time. Glad you pointed out how amazing some of those dunks were to be able to do during a game, especially in-the-moment without planning. Also, there are some 'professional dunkers' that do things that are more amazing than any in-game dunk ever (except Carter's #1 dunk, the last one from the video; more below), but they wouldn't be able to pull them off during a game.
    Carter's dunk in jumping over 7'2" Weis in the 2000 Olympics is the best dunk ever in a basketball game. Dunking while jumping over a guy that tall has never happened before or since (by anyone). Carter himself has said that he's tried but never could duplicate it again, either in a game or even just in practice.
    Btw, Carter isn't that tall by NBA standards: he's 6'6", same as Michael Jordan (EDIT: and Kobe also), which is a bit below the average NBA height of 6'7". Makes his dunks seem even more amazing.

    As a former ball player who could dunk at one time the craziest thing to me is that 360 hes spinning the opposite direction as you would normally do it as a ring hander especially the comfortable way to spin is counter clock wise because your finishing hand is going towards the rim he spins counter clockwise. And younger Vince was still on the way up when he dunked. Completing a complete 360 when he's still rising

  • @amegakhaker
    @amegakhaker 5 років тому

    The great thing about Vince was his grip with the ball. To be able to make those windmill dunks, you need a tight grip on the ball to be able to finish, or else it'll fall off easily. His 360 dunks need a lot of awareness of where the basket is, you can't do any of those dunks without practicing a lot, and I mean A LOT. One hand dunks are not that easy, that's why people start off by using 2 hands instead of 1, of course if you got the height, you'll also have big hands, which comes as a big advantage. The bigger the hands the better the grip.
