Lyrics: There must be some kind of way outta here Said the joker to the thief There's too much confusion I can't get no relief Business men, they drink my wine Plowmen dig my earth None will level on the line Nobody offered his word Hey, hey No reason to get excited The thief, he kindly spoke There are many here among us Who feel that life is but a joke But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that And this is not our fate So let us stop talkin' falsely now The hour's getting late, hey Hey All along the watchtower Princes kept the view While all the women came and went Barefoot servants, too Well, uh, outside in the cold distance A wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching And the wind began to howl, hey All along the watchtower All along the watchtower

This is really good Paul! I used your backing track for my most recent video. Mainly for the solo section and, overall Im quite pleased. I reference your name and backing track with a link and a shout out to you in my video description (on my AATW cover video.) Thank you and cheers from Long Beach CA!
SUPERB, man...... thanks very much for the excellence. One of the most unique versions of this Dylan masterpiece, in terms of the chords and rhythm was done by the late Michael Hedges. My band was quite inspired by the Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush rendition. This is quite the flexible song in terms of room to improvise; I've yet to hear a version that doesn't sound like an homage to Jimi :) Your treatment of it gets a four-letter grade: XLNT!

I thought there was an extra beat, and sometimes I'm still not sure.....but something c n fool you I think....maybe that the intro starts on "3&", and the first three eighth notes of the solo start there as well?

🍄 " FAR OUT " ! 🍀
This song was originally written by Bob Dylan though...
Lyrics:
There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Business men, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody offered his word
Hey, hey
No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey
Hey
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Well, uh, outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey
All along the watchtower
All along the watchtower

I think the correct vocal line is : None will level on the line, nobody of it is worth?
None will level on the line, Nobody of it is "worth." Is it the Rhyme to Plowmen dig my "Earth!"
There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Business men, they drink my wine
Plowman dig my earth
None were level on the mind
Nobody up at his word
Hey, hey
No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey
All along the watchtower

While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl

Could you have a version of just the acoustic rhythm guitar? I'm in a 3 piece and want to do it justice. Thanks!

I believe he plays it in C Min but, I like Eb vocally... Thanks.
Definitely in Cmin. Pentatonic shape and added aeolian notes work great. Can also play e major pentatonic shapes. So fun!

Dave Mason I think played a backing twelve string acoustic on this.
I find it really hard to catch the beat at the beginning... Where is the 1?

I cannot understand the American black rights movement at a time when Jimmi Henderix was a hero for all of us men!
Maybe look into some historical accounts. It might help you understand.

Maybe because he was English
I keep forgetting that Jimi tuned to Eb
Yes, altough it makes no difference in this case, because no open strings or open chords were played.
took me a bit to figure out the ket but Gm sounds good
I think its Cm
It's Cm, but Gm only has one different note hence why it's close

C#minor when you are tuned to D# tuning which is what Hendrix tuned to for most of his stuff.

@@mehdiida5459 Just to clarify,C#minor when you are tuned down a half step (D#) which is usually what Hendrix tuned to .My mistake.
