I feel like Scrape And Run is the kind of mod you need to balance an entire modpack around.

It’s mainly viral that makes it so necessary for op mods. Multiplying damage sucks, and it can be sudden. One moment you’re tanking everything, then a viral adapted comes and you’re dead
It for sure is, not a bad thing entirely but I wish more known modpacks were used to allow certain types of game styles because the mod is really great but you really need to make a good modpack to fully enjoy it

remember configuring the mods to your needs too. people complain about balance and when the mods' owner gives players more options to balance the mod how they like and they still complain.

not unless it can do true damage or inflict the death event, as preeminent parasites can get 100% adaptation and even if it can kill before then, link exists so the next preem will be fully adapted
Feral mobs are intended to be mid-late game mobs, as to not overflow your world with primitive and adapteds.

Hard disagree tbh, cave dwellers are legit just 1 mod with the same ai. i get the sentiment but i do think most of the infection mods try to add something unique and theme the mods/mobs.
What I've found with parasites in my own packs is that they don't really even care what gear you have. You could have 99.99% damage resistance and regen 6 and they can still kill you in a heartbeat, it's just insane.
But what I've found works is dragonsteel armor with max enchants with stuff like advanced protection 4, and then using the wines from rusted and potions from potioncore to get buffed.
Or using sentient armor instead of that which you can't even make normally and need a modpack to create a recipe for you.
Although the best weapons for parasites are from Scape and spartan. They recent-ish got an update that added sentient weapons and they deal massive damage (halberd does 92) and ignore the parasite's damage cap, have increased reach and their base stats and can inflict viral or bleeding. Combined with some high tier modded enchants you can just slice through anything. The sentient pike has like 7 block reach and can kill even stage 4 dispatchers/beckons in under ten seconds... I guess it's a BIT OP but it's not like the parasites aren't OP as well.
Also assimilated horse should've been C or higher for the explosion alone and feral horse should be below it cause that death explosion is just something else.
Probably because Shivaxi contacts mod creators for help when it comes to balancing things for RLCraft.
I kinda like how the end-game of RLCraft goes from unkillable boss to Spy TF2 gameplay. Throws things for a loop. Slowly picking away at spawners and lighting up areas with your time limit of invis time gets rewarding quickly. It pushes what you learned when you started to the extreme. That, and backstabbing rupters with a bane of arthropods dagger feels great.

It will probably be called "Scape & Run : Iris" and be based off Gemini Home entertainment because the mod alone has resemblances towards it. And as the name implies will have a lot of space content from Advanced Rocketry reworked, as I have all the planets done. If you wanna be reminded when I hopefully release it and curseforge accepts it then yeah.
all mobs in the mod have a 'minimum damage' that they can deal and you can change that in the config for the mod its kinda fine if it wasnt for the fact that some mobs just ignore immunity frames

I thought that's why they can deal percentage durability damage to your armor. The S&R:P team didn't even want that armor to be able to tank hits for long.

Basically half the mobs are boss tier from. Tbf i think is a good way to make those mods that add insane armor/weapons (like apotheosis) actually useful and not an absolute overkill
Idea: instead of trying to survive an entire hoard with high tier armor, how about 1 on 1 matches against certain parasites with high tier armor? You won't have to focus on running that much, will be able to score some victories against the parasites, and will gain more knowledge about the stronger parasites that isn't, "they kill you really fast"

@@5PiecesOfBacon oh it’s gonna take hundreds of hours to get, you’re either gonna be sequestered in the nether or space for quite a while. the sigil of divinity from blood arsenal (i think?) is a much more reasonable solution so long as you never die in 1 tick

feral enderman can tp primitives. holy shit they are insane, their tp radius is higher, they spawn in a group of 3, so if they decide to, you are so cooked, every single primitive is gonna appear near you in a matter of second, let alone their increased dmg, hp and glitchiness
I've been doing a Scape and Run, well, run in VR and I gotta say, EVERY PARASITE IS A TERRIFYING THREAT OF DOOM. Saber my beloved
I’ll put info regarding the video itself here and some scape and run relevant info below.
15:16 worms are directly tied to scents, which can spawn when loads of parasites die. Scents can level up and live longer the more parasites die, higher levels means more parasites are deployed from worms and stronger ones too. Scents don’t exactly move so this is where the run in scape and run comes in, you have to abandon that area for a couple days or more depending how many parasites you killed and eventually the scent will die off and the worms will stop hoarding your world with parasites. Also, I noticed there’s no preeminent tier parasites on the list. The video may be from before they were added, so I can’t expect them to be on the list. You mentioned the dreadnought getting a rework, so it was likely buffed because of the absolutely ridiculous skill of the Minecraft community beating nearly anything as soon as it’s modded into the game. I think that the preeminent may be as strong as the old dreadnaught, but it’s just a guess. I don’t really know how strong the old dreadnaught was compared to the current one. It just makes sense to me that they’d change dreadnaughts to be stronger and put preeminent parasites in their strength tier especially since I saw an image of what I heard was the old dreadnaught and it looks exactly the same as wraiths, one of the preeminent tiers.
Other info:
Honestly considering that players don’t assimilate while alive and only convert when dead, I can tell why we’re a primary target for these creatures. Level 3 COTH doesn’t even effect players, it’s only able to spread from us. Even if we’re killed, while the corpse assimilates, it can’t go feral. For those who haven’t seen phase 6, ferals are similar to the assimilated although COTH is strong enough and the source is intelligent enough to repurpose the skin into muscle tissue as a creature quite literally made of disease doesn’t need to worry about getting sick and skin is for keeping bacteria out of our bodies. The feral due to the extra muscle tissue are much faster and stronger than normal, and any crazed endermen who go feral can stand back up on their feet. (Half of the assimilated endermen crawl and the others run). A little while before phase 6, I can’t remember exactly which phase it is, the source does get smart enough to feral the assimilated however COTH isn’t strong enough. Instead of going feral as soon as they get assimilated, they can go feral when trying to turn into a primitive if there’s not enough assimilated nearby. While canonically, the feral should be able to become primitives, as at phase 6 there’s primitive and adapted spawning naturally however ferals don’t merge.
The way the Tozoon behaves reminds me of the OsVermis from Fish’s Undead Rising & Death Worms from Ice & Fire: Dragons.
Bogle is F- tier for me. I have a personal vendetta against this guy since he was the one who ended my first ever SRP survival by annihilating my base. I'm testing every modded ways of destroying parasites on him ever since.
Finally someone that knows how to use Tier lists. Instead of _only_ putting things on tiers, you also order them from most to least in the tier? Oh yeah!

I think the worm parasites in scape and run parasite does is upon killing any mob or any parasite like ruptures and such it causes the scent effect which has a limit on it and the more you kill the more it stays longer also you can go away from it to stop the worms from spawning and the scent from leaving.

Parasites is kinda like beta minecraft, when night was actually difficult, and hard mode actually hard
Shields weren't a thing, and hunger really sucked, plus there was no regen naturally
Although parasites is about twice as hard, vanilla still works for stages 1-4 lava, bows, boats, minecarts, and water are the best things to use
In the Beta the mob variety wasn't so severe. Wasn't at all the easiest thing ofc. In here the Parasites don't burn from the sun and they upgrade a lot. Some entities with certain abilities are pretty busted.
I'm not sure if I have any good comparison I could make though. Maybe "Apocalypse" works, like how Solar Apocalypse back then forced players to completely adjust to living underground, away from the surface. Parasites forces a really big change in playstyle.
worms are op if you actually have a base that you stay at for a long time and you kill one (1) little guy near it and it places a scent then its all over cause theres a really high chance that if you just keep killing everything that the worms spawn in near your base then they'll never go away and start spawning more evil mobs like heeds (once you get to heeds its all over)
I DESPISE the % armor damage from the sentries and yelloweyes, its such crap. At the same time I Love the Corrosion effect, I think that's brilliant. % durability drain on hit just feels like one of those things the devs hand a middle finger to you instead of making a hard mechanic that makes sense.
You should really play it with the Engender and Corail Tombstone mod which can make you really op relatively easily

9:43 that's where you're cause here is the thing they are weaker than their assimilated variant they don't have 38 health like on the wiki but 16 health almost a third of the assimilated bear. Also this isn't even the worst part because the assimilated bear already hitting pretty hard they both have similar damage. So overall feral bear is WEAK.

I sure might be new to the thing, and this question might have been asked a thousand times already, but... is there any solid reason why they keep this amazing mods in old Minecraft versions like 1.12?
There is nothing wrong with it being in 1.12.2 there are so many mods on 1.12.2 that you can make it look better than the latest version of Minecraft without shaders.
