A time when music and talent were real. Lou's voice was absolutely incredible! How many times have you seen a drummer out in front of the band? You have to hold on to this music people, pass it on to your kids because we'll never see the likes of this again. Long live Foreigner.
I love the drummer he's awesome
Ain’t that the truth!

By the late Junior Walker.
1980's booty call song
The sax solo absolutely nails it. Just glorious listening to that
Reminds me of the guy in Bruce Springsteen'z band . He had pipez. Great concertz both if them.
I agree B.F., and always have. I got to see them in '82 (the following year of release) at the Inglewood Forum as part of the '4' tour. Fantastic! There's an aspect to that sax solo that reminds me of something that would have been a hit in the sexy, fun Roaring '20s; not the total nightmare '20s we're in now. '4' was really Foreigner's last album for many, many fans. Lou Gramm was very unhappy about Mick Jones' decision to go the 'cry baby' ballad route of Journey with the next album featuring "I Want to Know What Love Is". Millions felt betrayed, still do. Regardless, this was a peak album with 'Juke Box Hero' 2nd runner-up to Urgent. That will never change. We'll always have those 4 albums.
My favorite part!!!
I believe that's Mark Rivera on sax..he was Billy Joel's sax player for like 40 years
@@giggle_girrl2306 In this video it may be, but the album was recorded with Jr. Walker. He was in the studio at the time, and they talked him into doing a solo for them. He listened to the song, went to his studio, and gave them a tape with a few solos on it, and told them "I think you'll find something on there you'll like". I've always been curious as to if there were several to choose ftom, or just this one. Jr. Walker is one of my favorites ftom the 60s, along with his band. " Jr. Walker & The Allstars"
Foreigner should already be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame..period!

Some 70s bands failed to transition into the 80s sound. Foreigner was not among them. Straight banger
The youth of today should watch music videos like this instead of the pile of crap that is served up nowadays.

Fuck them. They haven't inducted Pat Benatar either. The Hall of Fame is a joke.
You are absolutely correct. I would place him in the top 10. He is also a very modest and down to earth personality.

And also DJs should be ashamed for snubbing songs and artists on the radio.
How come no one makes music like this anymore? I was 7 when this first came out and it's now 43 years later and this song still holds up like nobody's business. I feel like we need to get back to REAL instruments like saxophone, guitars, bass, drums and keyboards.
Try highway tune by Greta van fleet
Because the industry is run by talentless hacks and the rap movement that started in the late 80s killed rock and roll. But I don't have listen to that crap and listen to this 40 years later

here for the sax solo
The intro. The bass. The sax. Lou. This song is legendary.
So was the year it came out, blaring out of all the disco speakers in Wiesbaden gasthauses and dives all over what was West Germany at the time.

The song entered the U.S. pop charts the week ending July 4, 1981, and reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, holding that spot for the entire month of September. "Urgent" hit #1 on the Billboard Rock Tracks chart, a position it held for four weeks.
The song was Foreigner's second-best-selling single (after "I Want to Know What Love Is") in both Canada and Sweden, reaching #1 in Canada in September 1981 and #20 in Sweden in March 1982.
That sax solo should win a Nobel prize, maybe several.
