This is a priceless treasure.. So much knowledge flowing in just twenty minutes! Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan sahab was one of the greatest musicians to walk the earth. Thank you for sharing this Syed sahab.. Have a great day
Greatest legend of classical music in sub-continent .....♥️♥️👌
I am a humble but serious researcher of ancient indian music and deciphered a lot of things which even bhatkhande and other greats could not do. khansaheb surpassed them in this 20 min talk by depth, beauty, mastery and command, precision, understanding of folk and urbanised music, of course the raagdari music. his great command on sur is mesmerizing. his talks matches with the theories of bharat, matanga and shaarngadev, which nobody delineated with practical illustration. he talks about sindhu, kaaphi and jaijaiwanti, bageshri, ....yes they are the root of the scales mentioned by the aforesaid great musicologists. they could not reflect the aesthetics of music in black and white, but khansaaheb did it with his qaanun and his matchless divine masculine voice.
dear faqeerkhana, you please listen some three thousand hours of great music, made by our undivided india's stalwarts and then please make comments. you just have made a display of your himalayan ignorance of ustad bade ghulam ali khan's music.
we are proud of ur presence here ,....
The best? How would you compare him to the other Ghulam Ali and a Salamat Ali Khan or a Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.?
i think i did not use word best in my comment. answer to other question is not for free.
ramkrishna das I know you didn't but it was a genuine question since you seem to know about singing having observed Ghulam Ali. I just wanted to know what sets him apart from the likes of other singers i mentioned in my post above thats all. But its ok if you dont wanna explain :)
this is a thankless job of typing for a long time and giving explanation without any return. i have given time and money for more than 40 years in this subject. if u ever come to mumbai, meet me i will explain. i am a radio artiste of mumbai. u can invite me for a lecdem or ques-answer or programme wherever u r, i will explain. but not for free as i am a professional musician and thinker.
Legendary person for our classical music. ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan 🙏🙏

A great musicologist, scholar, poet composer, sarangi player, sang most of the forms of music; sadhra, khyal, tarana, thumri, dadra and ghazal with the same skill and zeal. A great guy, Bade' in every sense. Unique artist. May God rest his soul in peace.

I think you have to delete ur comment. it sounds so indecent. indeed, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan is greatest, magar baat samjhaney ke kai ache tareeqey bhi hote hein.
Interview has made us know there are six THHAT n not ten THHATS. It is made understood that Riyaz should be done on a fixed scale which is also incorrect as
Ustad Sahab has started Raga Bilawal from lower octave n used GSharp note as Sa , Raga Maar from middle octave using C Sharp as Sa.
Now again explaining six THHATS has used lower octave F Sharp note as Sa for Bilawal.
Has used lower octave G Sharp note as Sa for kafi Raga.
Has used lower octave B minor or A sharp note as Sa for Bhairavi Raga
Has used lower octave B major note as Sa for Aman Raga.
Has used middle octave C Sharp note as Sa for Jhinjoti.
Has used middle octave D Sharp note as Sa for Jaunpuri Raga.
Again shown middle octave F Sharp note as Sa for Bhupali Raga.
The sargams amrohi n arohi rendered in soft, clear , right pitch n in a sweet way mashallah I really salute. It's worth listening time n again n by following making our own sur practice in right way.
The use of different scales itself makes voice to adapt to all sorts of songs n being a novice really helps. Salute to the great soul
MashaAllah,...

Faqeer Khan Saheb @ yeah tu woh baat huwi ke TaanSen bhi aajaye tu Aap keh dein ge mujhey Awaz pasand nahi aaye. Tansen is lucky, his no record is available :)
'That's the pot calling the kettle black'. You say this based upon this interview. This is an Interview Recording, NOT a Song Recording!
... If your opinion about this man is based upon this interview then It WILL INDEED take very little to impress you!
Alas, the art-hostile state of Pakistan and the arrogant attitudes of its superior officers forced the great artist of this land to go to the neighboring country.

FAQEERKHANA I have nothing but pity for you, it is obvious you have listened to nothing as far as hindustani is concerned
