It took 30 seconds for the Sentry to disappear. We are loosing immersion at a massive rate
Good video Luthais, crazy how fast the sentry disappeared, im not crazy about that.
Neither am I lol
just to summarize
You need advanced Engineering
at a workbench:
10 scrap metal
100 gunpowder
10 Uranium
60 lead platting in total
70 toolbox uses
Craft CRAP SVD ammo 7.62x54mm
approx 200 crap ammo for Yellow Sentry(old one)
approx 350 crap ammo for new Black Sentries
Thanks bud ; ]
If they didn't change much, here are my testing results, taken around 0.95 release + month or two.
tl:dr:
1) Distance matters A LOT since the resources are expensive in terms of time and effort. (But it doesn't matter for rockets)
2) I prefer 7.62x39 CRAP with RPK because with Semi-auto/bolt it's painfully slow for one person.
3) Semi-auto/bolt action weapons are more economical, but only worth it in terms of speed for a group of 2-3+ man.
4) For a group (>2) it is worth it to take RPG7 with HEAT rockets to lower the required number of rounds. (But it is not worth it to kill a mech using only HEAT rockets).
Results: Caliber = number of rounds to kill a mech (distance) (Weapons durability left)
OldMech
5.56 CRAP = 274 (extreme close range) (VHS 2 61%)
7.62x39 CRAP ~ 249 (extreme close range); ~ 254 (close-mid range) = 4 drums; Non-weak point ~ 240? (close-mid range); = 265 (long range) (RPK ~70%)
.30-06 CRAP = 187 (extreme close range) (M1 54%)
.338 CRAP = 163 (extreme close range) (AWM 68%)
7.62x54R CRAP = 163 (extreme close range) (SVD 35%)
.50 BMG Ball/AP = 98 (extreme close range) (M82A1 30%) - 30 loot
AT4 HEAT - 10 rockets - HEDP - 14 rockets
RPG 7 AT (PG-7M) - 5 rockets HE - 20+
NewMech
.45 ACP CRAP ~ 452-460 (close-medium range
Thank you for the detailed info. Appreciate it. I only found out about the distance a month ago ; ]
@@Luthais No problem. Feel free to share it. :)
It helped me a lot when me and my group organized an airfield raid. We did a combined arms raid with different weapons and calibers. It was quite an experience.
Cant say as I have ever taken a screen shot after killing one but man he despawned quick? I kill a new mech at the train yard and have to climb down from a building and travel across the yard a bit so that worries me a bit. Hopefully that was just some one of a kind glitch lol
Great spot for an old mech..I was killing one at a different spot but I think this may be better . Thanx

I think the SS bugged it, you see the black sentry in background refresh as you took snap. but LOL them KC problems
Lots of bugs lol
30s to loot It.
Unreal.

This despawn was too fast. Also the puppets despawn way too fast. That makes no sense and as you say, these cut the immersion.
Big time immersion killers
