Being 75 now and watching the outstanding video`s make`s me so relaxed just like in the water in the early years, miss those days. Had so much fun. Thanks' ,enjoy them so much.
I never get tired of grouper hunting ! I love this episode. The hunt where you kept after the big grouper and finally get the shot is great ! I loved it !
Dude, you are a role model. I thank you for the care you give to the fish you hunt. It hurts me as well to let anything suffer. Thank you for being a good person!
Aaron I was just watching a 3 month old video you make of snapper fishing. You came home after fishing and said that you were living “in the good old days”. For some reason that statement stopped me in my tracks. I had been working all night and accidentally happened on your UA-cam channel and binged about 3 hours. I already loved the channel after a couple of hours, but when I saw the last video, I couldn’t resist in reaching out. I have a bizarre life working all night in the field of medicine. It’s a lonely life of working from home and living vicariously through other people’s adventures. Thirty years ago, I lived in a car with a dog and a friend and followed the Grateful Dead. Mountain climbed, scuba dived, and hiked every trail I could find. I was living my, “good old days”. Since then, I found a different path which involved children and house and all of the things go along with that. It was all good and perfect and I couldn’t be happier about my choices. There is nothing better about “the good old days” than to see your children grow up and be happy and successful. I can vicariously look forward to that for you. You look like you are on that path. And you seem like the kind of person who will appreciate it and know what to do with it when the time comes. When I was in medical school, I was in Jacksonville. I drove my 18 ft boat to the keys many times with my best friend for lobster season and dolphin fishing. We camped and survived on nothing but had the best of, “the good old days”. I’m older now but not old. My kids are awesome and successful. I’m in a new place of living, “the good old days”. I’m coming to the keys in June. I’m bringing my kids and my boat. I’d love to take you and your wife out to dinner. I’d just like to show you my gratitude for doing what you do and inspiring people to live their best life, while at the same time, doing what you love to do in the right way that you do it. Let me know if you’d like to have dinner with us. We would love to have you and your wife. Richard
This channel is truly unique on UA-cam. I am a 64 year old US expat living on a canal in Freeport on Grand Bahama. I'll be retiring soon and freediving is something I want to do more of. I know from 30 years of boating that these freediving skills take many years to be even a little good at so I will be limiting my goals to 30-35', but there are other skills including species identification underwater and knowing what is good to eat that can take a ton of experience as well. These vids allow me to experience these things through the eyes of an expert. Thanks very much for the time and effort it requires to video document these things while trying to live them in real time!
in my opinion the unicorn shot is the best you can do in a cave at any fish. Because it will always make the fish leave the cave easily. You just have to be careful not to hurt yourself with the shaft when the fish comes out like a rocket towards you
This mutton spawn is amazing, I really find it fascinating to look at your bottom machine and compare it to what you see at the bottom. If you can, try to continue posting these "Here's what the fish finder shows -- then here's the actual bottom diving" - I don't dive so this intel is AMAZING!
Nice job, congrats. Those schools of muttons were really cool to see, knowing how those GoPro s are, like you were saying there is probably dozens more we couldn’t see. 👍👍thanks for sharing
Awesome video!!! Way to go on the tournament win! Way awesome filming of all those fish! Loved all of it!! Thank you for sharing! Loved seeing the furbabie and your lovely wife! ❤
I really enjoy your videos Aaron. Just sent this one to my son to watch. That mutton spawn is wild. I've been to the key tons and never caught the spawn before. I don't free dive though just fish. Done plenty of scuba over the years though. Keep the videos coming!
What a day man. Just wanted to say thanks for all your content and all that your channel has taught me about exactly how I want to approach the world of Florida fishing/diving when I move out there with my wife next year. I was born and raised in Northern California and have fished the SF bay my whole life. Halibut, Cod, Stripers, rock fish, Salmon and our newest fishery in the last couple years Blue Fin Tuna! We are done being cold and headed to Palm Beach area and eventually will be living in the Caribbean full-time on a 50 foot catamaran where I can't wait to spearfish and engulf myself in the warm water fishing that you are such a big part of! Anyway Aaron thanks again for the killer videos. Tight lines and maybe I will see ya in the water someday. 👊🏻 Brian
Awesome video it’s amazing you keep your composure with that many fish around definitely does not come easy & takes practice. I’ve been trying to match your breath holds & I just woke up on the floor.. cheers
Epic dive experience and commentary as well. Beautiful water and plenty of fish. The Mutton snapper abundance is something I have never seen before. Also, thanks to Will for delivering as expected a delicious and simple meal. Tell Will - Fire Island (Ocean Beach) July 18-29. Clams - Fluke - Seabass. Trust me, inside joke; we have been in discussion on his page.
Aaron, thanks for taking me fishing with ya. Had only 1 taste of Florida in '83, playing with AF at Eglin. Shoulda tried fishing but Unc Sam wouldn't let the Army play for too long. Memphis, 10🇺🇸
Also great to see the mutton population doing so well. we were diving in shore on the same day you filmed this, saw large amounts of them inshore right in front of Kw. Great videos keep it up.
Man what a perfect day!! Hugs Mutton, Black Grouper and a massive AP, but then top it off with Cooking With Clams Snapper sandwich that made you say “dammm”!! Great job to All y’all!
An awesome catch and homecoming to your lovely wife ; your best mate Will and the menagerie - PLUS Will food. It could not be better I say. There is a young man called Aaron, his skills at spearfishing are apparent, he is modest and from Key West, and deserves a good rest, with all the ones loves and likes best.
In South Andros Bahamas we have a huge grouper school that would make them look like clouds!! All huge Grouper. I have hand lines 24 in one day and big 30+ lbs and they were amazing! I want to get a nice boat with electric reels and a winch to pot and catch red snappers and groupers in the Bahamas! But that was amazing spearfishing and a divers dream!
Awesome congrats on 1st. Went to the keys recently with a friend & tried spearing for the first time. Your vid’s gave me a sense of kinda knowing what I was doing lol. Stoned the first snapper! Keep up the great work
Uncle Remus said Well Done and he thinks he is going to invite Will the Stay with him and just come home to a Wonderful and fantastic dinner at the end of a crazy day. Cheers!
With so many spawning fish there should be manta rays and maybe whale sharks around to eat the egg and spooge love soup. And anytime you see either there could be Mr cobia following along. Cool video! I want to try AP one day, that's a fish I never saw or ate growing up in Florida.
Hey, headed down in February, the family is very excited about the fish and especially lobster. I hunt with a pole spear and was wondering if you had any tips for success, specifically on winter lobster and also any breath control or lung expansion exercises that might help. Thanks in advance!
Guy speared a 55lb AP in the Crosthwait tournament up in Bradenton this weekend...edit..That sandwich at the end looked awesome. I'll be looking for the video.
Aaron, are you using the standard chum block to put the chum in the water or are you using a different method. Like, is your chum your own concoction and someone in the boat is throwing it out? Thanks.
New subscribers here. We are UA-camrs in central Fl and met Ryan & Logan who told us about your channel. Hopefully we can meet one day. Just got back from the Keys. If you’re in Central Florida do reach out we can do some fishing. ❤
@KeyWestWaterman Thank you for the response, kind sir. Would love to see it in your next video if you choose to do so. If not, I'll still be tuning in with the same excitement I always get when I get the notification of a new KeyWestWaterman video.
Yay! So proud of you baby!
😘
Good to see this comment! I thought you two broke up !!
@saltwaterscratcher they just got married❤
My wife: "So, you only won the grouper category?" 😐😜
@saltwaterscratcher they are married....
Leaving that school, without your limit, says a lot about you
Thanks for setting an example 💪🏼
You’re a killer
Especially when they’re harvesting commercially!
I was going to say the same. He does a great job for conservation

Fantastic episode!!! Don’t know how you do it. Videos just get better and better. I’m sure that’s goal. Thanks for sharing.
I am happy you are again showing spear fishing. You do such a good job of the way you show your fishing.

Só uma dica, quando for pesar o peixe centraliza a balança, se colocar no meio do convés fica mais preciso.
