    Thank you for an excellent instructional video. Just finished installing the cafe bars on my 2022 T120. The wrench/ tool sizes and torque settings saved a lot of look-up time. I learned a thing or two in the process like using air to remove / install the handlebar grip. I also replaced the cat with an x pipe while the bike was stripped and relocated the rear caliper to above the rotor. I struggled to get decent pressure on the brakes so i used tune ecu to activate the abs solonoid and I’ve now got pretty good pressure front and back. Thank you once again for taking the time to provide this video!

      Really glad to hear that! Besides the product installation alone, we're all about sharing tips from a master technician perspective to ensure 200% confidence when wrenching on the bike! Appreciate the feedback.

    Would you guys ever consider a video for installing your retro handlebars on a street twin? I find there's lots of clubman/cafe bar videos but your retro ones look like a nice in-between, unfortunately there's very few videos on UA-cam for that style of bar. Love your stuff, thanks guys!

    Do you need a shorter clutch cable as well?

    • @britishcustoms
      @britishcustoms  Місяць тому

      Nope! Just a bit of wiggling and correct routing on the stock works.

    51:40 Is it possible to retain the original bar clamp instead of using the other risers?

    Thank you!!! Ive been waiting for this for months!!! I purchased the kit for my 2018 T100 Black, took it to Tampa Triumph and after a couple hrs they said the kit wasnt correct for my model. They comped the labor and sent me on my way. Ive been so bummed for weeks now, even to the point off putting it on the market because I want a modern cafe racer and Ive spent THOUSAND$ customizing the bike, but held off from sending the kit back because I was in correspondence with your customer service and they said the kit was right. Ive been looking for someone local to do the work to no avail. I watched the tracker bar vid and most of the parts seemed correct. After watching this vid I think that the problem was how involved the process is and instead of telling me that, they just blew me off. Or maybe their "master tech" wasnt such a master. Any thoughts? Is the process for the 2018 T100 the same? Do I need new risers? They didn't come with the kit. PLEASE HELP!!!

      We made sure not to miss any steps on this one! It could really be anything but the #1 thing we can imagine is that when you use the stock risers, the controls/bars comes into contact with the tank but rest assured with our clamps PLUS spacers, you're all clear. Give us a call for more info on this!

    Any chance of BC offering taller, more relaxed, further back bars for the t120? Would make the bike much more comfortable for taller riders.

    • @britishcustoms
      @britishcustoms  Рік тому +1

      At the moment, the only option would be our Tracker Handlebar Kit which would offer more pullback and width. You can use our Four Bolt Clamps + Riser Spacers to give you some rise but that's only about half an inch extra (once you start going too tall on riser spacers, it starts to look like a gooseneck and you gain some flex) britishcustoms.com/products/tracker-handlebar-kit-bonneville-t100-2017-2022-black
      Is there a certain style you are looking for? We're always open to checking more bars out to test.

      @@britishcustoms I'm looking for handlebars that copy the original 1969 Triumph t120R look - w/the cutouts for my heated grips for my 2020 T120. Believe me when I say this. there's a huge market for these - will make the bike super comfortable.

      We'll take a further look at different bars that are taller and pulled back. Perhaps certain Flanders Handlebars.
      The cut out part is tricky, as it requires very specific notching and a bit tricky due to production, cost, and inventory on our side. Sounds silly for a little cutout but it's costly!
      For more details, we'd have to go all in on a bar style with a specific finish, tool up for the cutting, and meet minimums production costs for cutting down, then sit on hundreds of cut out bars that's model specific.
      Might be easier and saves us a ton of money if we went with overseas production but we keep all of our production and finishing here in the US and with our handlebars going more towards the universal route, used on different makes and models of bikes, it's easier to go this way.
      This may change down the road but it's definitely something we have in mind and we'd love to make it happen!
      Give us a ring and we can discuss more about this as we have a team of engineers, fabricators and riders.

    Then a week later you realize the bars are too low and you'd like to go back to stock... I've gone through quite a few handlebars to find the right seating position. This is a serious process just to put new bars on your bike. I've swapped out a few bars but I've always been able to use all the stock cables and brake line, so it's always been pretty easy.

    • @britishcustoms
      @britishcustoms  Рік тому

      Just part of the process, especially a bit more difficult when the bike has more complexities within the stock components. We’ve personally switched just the bars alone to cafe/clubman’s on the t100/120 and it puts way too much stress at the banjo by the master cylinder which is not worth the risk for us.
      Nice part about the kit is that we added a split line for the backbone so that whenever you need to change bars, service, or switch lines, it’s right at the backbone instead of going from bars all the way back to the ABS module by swingarm.
      Which bars are you running now?

    Just bought a T120 with clip-ons, kinked brake line and all. It's failed a safety inspection for this so I've brought it back to stock (thankfully the guy kept all the OEM bits). I would like to put the clip-ons back and im wondering if that stock banjo can just be flipped 180 so the elbow is going the other way, towards the back of the headlight. Has anyone tried this? I know the cable is quite stiff but maybe it's long enough to accept the twist?

    • @britishcustoms
      @britishcustoms  Рік тому

      We personally do not recommend it from a technicians perspective - brakes are one of those things where if something goes wrong, it's a huge risk. We've tried twisting around the banjo etc but it places the banjo in a bad position and you also have to add in additional margin of error for when the bars are turning and the line is being pulled, hence we made this kit. It's a pain to install as the OEM lines are fixed all the way through from banjo to the swingarm but it's worth it!

    • @The85Maxim
      @The85Maxim Рік тому

      thanks for the response, I was able to get the OEM on there with a 180 twist and sit well enough behind the ignition switch, but like you said it adds enough strain to the line to make me nervous.

    • @britishcustoms
      @britishcustoms  Місяць тому

      It's totally a pain.. But once you have our ABS line up to the backbone, changing out to anything else or servicing should be easy (no need to remove swingarm from that point on)
