I absolutely love the games with Brian - his energy is calm, fun, interesting and clever.. without being pompous or nasty. Truly a gentleman of 40k. We love you and miss you man!

Necron Warriors don't have S5 guns anymore.
Heavy Bolters have Sustained Hits 1.
    Spyders have 2 Particle Beamers.

When he used the Reactive Movement strat, I think he illegally moved into engagement range of the Terminators. The strat says "make a Normal move" -- which cannot move within engagement range. It didn't have an impact, but worth mentioning.

He got close but didn't actually move into engagement range.

I enjoy your shows but I have to agree with some of the remarks people have made on the quality of the games. Everything I say is meant to be taken with the best intentions in mind:
Some players, and Bridger in particular, care so little about the army rules that it takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I can see how it can be overwhelming to read up on everything so quickly, but if he doesn´t know something, he should be trying to get it right and not completely gloss over it with an "idc, rules are hard lul" comment.
There is a balance to be struck between keeping a stream going and understanding rules, I know. In the past you´ve referred to chat for help and then figured things out that way; this was engaging and insightful at the same time.
    Best wishes!

Slight constructive criticism of the Necron list. First Off, well played to both, cool lists and a nice expose of their different armies and detachments. The following is for anyone interested in competitive improvement/criticism.
    1) No Tesla Immortals with Plasmancer and Translocation Overlord, is really strong in CC with all the rerolls and the mobility to just snatch objectives and turn on the Power Matrix.
    2) Under utilized spyders, they are not great but they give 6+FNP to the doomstalkers and he never took advantage of that, often had his spyders in strange places and felt like he forgot them completely at one point where as if he had them tucked behind the ruins they could have saved the one Doomstalker with 6+FNP (225pts wasted is bad feels, could have been another unit of Wraiths, or another Doomstalker and Translocation Overlord for the warriors)
    3) Acanthrocites are Canoptek, have Infiltrator, a melta and void blade, plus a bonus ap ability on units they shoot which can make a difference against targets without invuls (Or with Teslas), similar move characteristics toughness and save profile. for 10 pts more they are a strict upgrade to tomb-blades in this list, still don't know why they are forgeworld, but alas they are.
    4) More Overwatch from the Doomstalkers, could have wiped that Terminator Squad in two turns from shooting and Overwatch before they ever got into position to shoot the Nightbringer and would have been a neutralized threat. That 5+ Overwatch with full rerolls is no joke.
    5) Kind of threw away that first unit of scarabs, which were super far away from their spyder and just sat in the open for an easy kill, should have at least made it a challenge. They have 0OC unless near a cryptek, with a translocation shroud overlord in that warrior unit he could have leapt the ruins and snagged the Ob alongside the scarabs with that spyder supporting the doomstalkers and ready to rebuild the scarab unit.
    6) Reanimator wasn't at it's best in this list, don't hate it here but could have been something different, it now needs to be more out front and center but if combined with the spyders fnp could have done serious work to keep the Doomstalkers alive.
    7) Stay more concentrated, you don't need all of the Obs in No Mans Land, you just need the majority which is usually 2/3. If those wraiths had been roaming on the otherside of the board to contest the terminators and Astartes at the center and the bottom flank, tucked the spyder and scarabs back into the ruins to guard the Doomstalkers he could have had a relatively easy time of holding those three Obs while threatening his home Ob. With a couple of decent Overwatch the terminators would have been neutered, FNP on the Doomstalker could have kept it alive giving you solid pressure on those dreads as they pushed up the top flank. The wraiths did a good job of holding the enemy in that corner, however the same could have been accomplished by scarabs and a spyder or even that warrior blob but kept the wraiths bogged down too and they want to roam the board not turtle in a corner, their bombing ability wants them to stay mobile charging into targets they can kill and move on. Using Wraiths like they are the new lychguard guard blob is a little bit of a waste of their potential, imo their saves and the new technomancer FNP are not so they can just hunker down, its so they can roam freely without worrying about getting shot off the board which is why the ability was taken from the lychguard and given to the wraiths because the wraiths were faster and designed to be mobile where the lychguard were designed to hunker down which made them cancerous. I think the wraiths will lose their invul to balance out the FNP, which would be sad but make sense.

TLDR: Canoptek Court is awesome and super competitively viable, Hypercrypt Legion is a lot of fun and fairly competitive, the other two miss the mark for me and here is why...also I am happy about Doomstalkers!
The hypercrypt legion and the canoptek courts are big winners to me, both are fun and competitive in their own ways. The Obeisance Phalanx sounds cool but doesn't really have the goods, and the Annihilation Legion doesn't know what it wants to do as half of its forces are shooters but the detachment focuses heavily around charges and fighting. If they had built the Phalanx detachment to be a Triarch detachment and gave certain units that keyword, like say lychguard or tomb-blades mixed with the stalker and praetorians, maybe give some characters the keyword and they pass it on through leadership (Royal Wardens?) and have it be a detachment that focuses around the nobility class and leadership mechanics, that would have been fun, maybe have their own Oath of Moment style ability where your warlord picks a target they can see for the triarch units to focus with +1 hit/+1 wound or a 4+ critical hit/wound instead of rerolls. The annihilation legion should have leaned more into wound rerolls like the old destroyer rules, better STR/Ap and easier dev wounds should have been the focus of that detachment, imo say reroll 1 to hit and wound for destroyer units then full reroll hit and wound if their target is on an Objective with a 1cp strat that gives Dev Wounds. Maybe have a fallback and shoot mechanic for lokhusts, an advance + charge for skorpekhs, and a fallback and charge for Ophidians, perhaps an Ophidian Lord or solid buffs to the Hexmark to be a real leader/warlord option like D2 and precision on its pistol and the ability to lead say Deathmarks, Deathmarks/praetorians could get shoot and scoot and -1 to be hit with a chronomancer, the wraiths being canoptek getting access to technomancers makes sense, so why not give the destroyer cult psychomancer/plasmancer/chronomancer? I'd say psychomancer for flayed ones, Hexmark for Deathmarks, and chronomancer for the Triarch praetorians. These work well since the flayed ones already have a fear mechanic combined with the psychomancer could be good for forcing battleshock, hexmark could give the deathmarks his 2+ Overwatch to go with their deepstrike retaliation and has that shoot back ability to cover them, shoot and scoot plus -1 to be hit is really good for the praetorians who just want to run around and shoot and charge the enemy and have no Invul, and the technomancer with the wraiths is a little strong and will probably get nerfed but in the meantime is really cool. 2/3 out of 5 detachments hitting the mark is more than other codex have produced so I'm not complaining, in fact I'm super happy to see the reanimation spam relegated to the short bus and now we have real battlefield threats in the form of CTan and Doomstalkers rocking full rerolls. As someone whose very first model was a Canoptek Doomstalker, and who had built and painted two in my first year playing 40k, three-four years ago, when I started the model was so bad it literally made my lists weaker just running it but now with full rerolls its not just viable, its solid, and I am so hype to run my two and have them be taken seriously.

Is there value to the Primarch program outside of the US? I assume TTT are focusing on US first, then in the UK and EU partners. So as someone from Australia, I would imagine I am at the back of the value que?

As far as my shop is concerned, I am region locked to selling GW products in the United States. I'd love to sell elsewhere but GW has rules in place for us as resellers. My terrain and such could be shipped and sold globally though, but I'd need to work out the kinks in customs, etc before I made that 100% official. As far as others, I cannot say.

    • @Thoth_7
      @Thoth_7 6 місяців тому +5

The list is wrong, presumably because someone assumed they were still max 9 from the previous edition. The actual models on the table are 3 units of 6, and the points difference looks to have been invested in a unit of Tomb Blades (and if the intro is correct, a single Heavy Destroyer).

I love this channel, and I subbed for a very long time (new debit card, gotta sign back up) , but it's disappointing when things happen like Bridger completely whiffing on the new strat to give Lone Op to his Doomstalker in round one. I want to see the game played well, especially with a brand new codex and brand new detachment, and this was a huge miss that likely shaped the outcome of the game, or at least how it proceeded afterwards. Come on, Titans.

  • @Thoth_7

Infinity / Infinity on Bridger having completely wrong takes. Some of the best RTS games never bothered with making buildings because making buildings is *flipping boring*. Hell, in Myth, which was spectacular, you don't even make units - you have to actually win a strategic fight using the finite units you start with... kinda like some of these 'table top war games' I hear so much about.
