I don't get the part where you said that Copper has a full d subshell and that means it has lower energy and hence more stable. Why does it have lower energy and why does lower energy make it more stable?
why does vanadium have an electron configuration of 1s2,2s2,2p6,3s2,3p6,3d3,4s2 but the order is always 3s,3p,4s and then 3d. different videos have different answers, can you please explain
When writing the electronic configuration for Se(the shortened version), can you only use the closest noble gases in the bracket? Why not (Cl) 3p6 4s2 3d10 4p4 ?
Carbon is written incorrectly. It has 1 electron in the 2s orbital and 3 electrons in the 2p orbital because it forms 4 bonds, they are both half filled so they become more stable.
I kept getting that "omg I get it" moments. THANK YOU .
OMG I GET IT
I am doing my A levels chemistry on my own just seeing your videos. Very helpful
Thank you so much!!!! Even though I'm not taking A Levels (I'm in the US), your videos are really helpful.
+Aileen Wu I'm pleased they are helping people like you across the pond! It just shows how universal chemistry is ay! 👌
This video REALLY helped me out alot, Thanks and keep it up! Students need teachers like you!
this video is very useful for my AS thanks
Brilliant! Hope you're enjoying AS chemistry so far.
Thanks man really helpful for our online class, keep up the great work
Thank you for this video, it was really concise and straight to the point!
thank you so much ...I found this really helpful ....This makes the As chemistry much easier
So easy to understand..Top teacher
very clever..I like it keeps up the good work
+Emmanuel Baptiste Thanks very much! This video replaced an old one that was not very clear in terms of video quality.
Didnt know i will have to revise this topic after getting into Medicine (by getting A grade in Alevel chem thanks to allery chem :D)
Do we need to know about Sigma and Pi?
I get confused we used these sub shell ideas but in chemistry later on they go back to the GCSE shells..
Yup. Shells exist it's just at A Level you also need to know that shells are made up of sub-shells (s,p,d,f) and these are made up of orbitals.

Hi! Is it just Cr and Cu that follow the 4s1 electron rule or all transition metals? Thanks
4 years later and bro doesn't know :(
7 months later and bro....... still doesn't know 😢
u had written carbon-1s,2s,2p but the value of p=6..then how we can write 2 there????
There are 6 electrons in total in a carbon atom. 2 in the 1s orbital, 2 in the 2s and the other 2 go in the 2p sub shell. Hope this helps.
thanks....
Ashutosh Mahanta it doesn’t always have to be the maximum amount of electrons that orbital can hold!

Hi sir, in 3:37 you mentioned 2p (B,C,N…) 3p (Al,Si…) but what elements are 1p if He is 1s?
There is no 1p as the p orbital is not in the first energy level.

Very well organised and thought out. Love ur vids
Why does it go 3d and not 4d?
Thanks, this is helping a lot!
+Hajrar Ikhlaq Good good! Please share the vid! 😄
Goshhh this video is brillianttttt thank you❤️
Hi is this part of the new spec, Thank you
Very helpful video
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot man
LOl that twitter on right corner
really helpful
I love you.
Excellent sir,u r A1
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for this
Thank you!!!!!
Thank you
You're welcome 😊
did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? Also this is useful, cheers
sorry is exdexcel part of cie
No. Different thing.
He is found in the S block ! isn't it?
THANK YOU THANK YOU
Welcome!

Only in its excited state
