Just like Luke, I followed the Heroquest -> Battlemasters -> Warhammer route into the hobby. There was no GW store near me, either. I fondly remember those ridiculous "use everything you got" battles played on the floor in my friend's attic, where the game would start on a Friday night after school and continue until we'd be surprised by the rising sun. Good times.
Lovely podcast. Just a thought for us newcomers to the hobby could you have pictures of the old models you are talking about when you discuss them on the screen? I feel that would be very helpful. Keep it up guys!!
Thanks, glad you like it. It’s great that you’re a newcomer to the hobby and also interested in old models. I have one oldhammer video so far on my Orcs and Goblins. (Part 2 coming soon). Luke has a Chaos showcase on his channel too..
40k have not been playable since 4th Ed.... So, skip it.. 2nd Ed is the most fun! Glad to hear another Mordheim-lover. It is great. :) Love and agree what Luke says about character on the old models. Spot on. Individually sculpted with love..
@@palwinderdhillon8242 3rd and 4th Ed were pretty simple, really dumbed down or simplified from 2nd Ed. Which also eventually led to larger armies.. 4th Ed to 5th Ed they introduced dumb shit from other games.. Like that going to ground shit. or when ever that was. but the biggest shite for me was the flyers and super heavies... Not only does it look retarded, it is not fun.. For me.. Coming from the more skirmishy-ish.. Epic´s various editions were fun, should have kept those things there.. But the size in 4th Ed was totally okay.. But adding such shit made it look stupid.. Sitting 2 feet apart with trash on a line.. Nah.. Rules-wise it just got shit added.. I play older editions of WhFB (6th Ed), peak WHFB. Great as GW can´t fuck it up. Same with Mordheim.. Might get back into 40k but I would love to play 2nd Ed then.. it is quite easy as long as you have a couple of or even just one nice buddy that enjoyes it. The latest editions aren´t the best and no need to play that garbage..
Great interview. Wish I had found your channel sooner. Lukes content is some of my favourite.

Thanks for inviting Dr Blaxill, entertaining fellow and fun to hear him in a more free form discussion.
He’ll be back soon!
@@d6wounds That’s great, thank you.
Great podcast
Thank you 🤙
Just finished painting the " Chaos Toilet " .
I watched the live stream of Luke’s first game, it was funny seeing him get salty after dwellers

Is the live stream they talk about available anywhere?
It’s on the Triple Crown Wargaming UA-cam channel but you’ll have to look back to the videos from last July.
Thank you!@@d6wounds

I only started in 9th. What is the biggest change? Seems like it's a smaller scale and higher complexity of mechanics.
