Danny Chats Episode 15 features special guest Rhonda Rowland.
In this episode Rhonda tells me about her own experience of being diagnosed with Wilson's Disease and the medication she is now on to control her copper levels.
Rhonda is a board member of the Wilson's Disease Association in America so we talk a bit about that and also the great work she has been doing to put a book together about Wilson's Disease.
Rhonda travelled to the UK to talk to Dr Walsh the man that invented the first medication for Wilson's Disease patients and also Dr Wilsons son plus the first person that was ever treated with the medication, Penecillamine.

Very interesting interview Danny 😊....It is so great that both you and Rhonda are using your talents to bring more awareness to Wilson's Disease and be a support for people who are diagnosed💕.
So neat that Ronda was able to interview Mr Wilson's son and the man who developed the Penicilimine treatment. The cost of the meds are horrendous now. Luckily here in Ontario, Canada we have some supports to help pay for meds. The possibility of gene therapy sounds amazing 😊! My husband is also a writer.... he is trained in journalism and is currently doing freelance work for some small local papers as well as Anishnewabek News. When I was diagnosed with WD years ago he was able to speak with the wife of one of the men who wrote the book, "Wilson's Disease, Major Problems in Internal Medicine"Scheinberg and Sternleib...
I will check out Rhonda's film and look forward to her book.
...and she makes such an important point about WD patients needing to take their prescribed medications consistently and properly 👌💕🖖💖...
