The thing with this Kesha's album is IT IS NOT DEPRESSING. It builds you, it makes you stronger after all the hell you've been through. That is why it is so amazing
Learn to Let Go touched me deeply, especially the music video. It's a reminder to appreciate the roots of your childhood, not to take yourself too seriously, and to focus on the future.
I remember a critic saying the only reason he didn't put "Praying" higher on his year end list when it first came out was that he couldn't take the emotional gut-punch every time he heard it so he had to ease off her music for a bit.
I remember listening to this song for the first time few years ago, obssesed after the first time and still am now... As well with Learn To Let Go ... she a genius
I definitely cried when I first heard this. Partially because I know that pain but then from the beauty of her growing beyond it. Just. UGH. This is not a song. This is musical and visual art.
theyre interlinked, you need resilience to overcome depression because real, clinical depression is something you have to live with and fight against every day
Her Rainbow album is a masterpiece and her first album where she had 100% creative control, she said she didnt even try to write for the radio, she wrote it to heal herself and its rly rly good i reccomend it
Fun fact! This was filmed at an art commune in Southern California called East Jesus! They are an amazing place and said Kesha was so humble and sweet while filming there. My dad volunteers there a lot.
You really need react to: LORDE: PURE HEROINE (EXTENDED) AURORA: All discography or best vocals Melanie Martinez: Music videos or albums Poppy: Scary Mask or another Rosalia: El mal querer
I saw her in concert in 2018 and seeing this live brought me to actual tears. It was such a powerful performance and it truly felt like I was in church. It still gives me goosebumps and makes me cry.
The next Kesha song you should react to is Learn to Let Go! The music video is so sweet and it's like extra closure for Praying and taking steps forward.
react to rainbow! the album is the best in her discography. she wrote the title track rainbow in rehab for eating disorder with nothing but a toy piano they allowed her to use. the album is fun and therapeutic. there are pieces of the old party kesha in tracks like let 'em talk, Hymn' and boots. but the process of healing and growing so love herself in the album is strong and so inspiring. id highly suggest doing this album before rainbow.
This song is such a powerful song. You should really react to the whole album!! Rainbow is one of my favorite albums of all time. (I was no where near a kesha fan before rainbow)
i've always loved kesha, i loved that she saw the party genre and said 'i want to do that for girls' like she just wanted to have fun, and i always knew she could sing because i heard her do some acoustic versions of her songs back in the day but this, this isn't a song, it's something you experience, and not just experience, but experience with her, it never fails to make me tear up, you really go on this journey and it builds and culminates into that high note that rings of pain and triumph, every note hits you in the heart but that note especially is almost like a warcry and a scream of grief, it's just amazing, especially as a fan, to see and feel her overcome something, you get to feel so proud of her
when her voice cracked, I started crying and when the drums came in the second chorus, I swear, I fucking lost it. Also, if you want to hear her sing this song with raw emotions, watch her grammy performance of Praying. Andra Day, Dolly Parton, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha and a lot of good women sang the song with her.
I've always loved Kesha but knew she was a massive talent when I first heard her unreleased song "Goodbye" (not to be confused with Last Goodbye, which is already good and is an example of her more emotional side that people overlook because those songs weren't on the radio) It's just her and a guitar with some of the most raw lyrics I have ever heard and was recorded in 2002 so way before even Tik Tok. Rainbow is one of my favorite albums ever and I know High Road is gonna be amazing.
One of her best songs. So, so powerful. I tear up every time I hear it. You go Kesha! Also, I loved your reaction to it. First time here and I already clicked the subscribe button.
I always get so emotional with this song and if I focus too much on the lyrics, I usually cry. Kesha is an amazing song writer with an incredible voice. I encourage you to listen to a few of her ballads. Her label never did her justice.
Great reaction as usual. This song caught a lot of people off guard. You'd have to know her demos or unreleased songs to know the restraint she had in her early career. Animal and Cannibal both were her created image...not entirely her own creation either... Deconstructed was our first deep look and Warrior really showed Kesha overtaking Ke$ha with Rainbow being in my opinion her strongest and simultaneously odd (in a good way) album with some emotional songs like this, Learn to Let Go, Rainbow. High Road is super high on my 2020 desires and I know she'll release gold as always. Never a bad album in her discography.
So I just finished High Road and am OBSESSED with the marriage of Ke$ha and Kesha. I really want a High Road reaction out of curiosity if you'll like it or not but I feel the journey from Animal, Cannibal, the other EPs, and Warrior to Rainbow mean so much to what High Road is.
This came out a little bit after I left a highly abusive relationship. I felt this song in my soul, I would listen to this on repeat and bawl my eyes out. From beginning to end I felt this
You haven’t heard praying yet? It came out in 2017 and got kesha nominated for best pop solo artists along side Beyonce and Ariana Grande, and is one of the music industries biggest comeback stories along side artists like Mariah Carey and Britney Spears?
I hate when people place Kesha as "The Party Girl", because even before "Praying" Kesha already released some other songs about resilience, about self confidence, break, etc. You can listen her deeper side on songs like "The Harold Song", "Blind", "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes", "We R Who We R", "Stephen", maybe not all the songs are ballads, but it shows a vulnerable side from her. Kesha was always like "Praying" style, but people didn't gove themselves a chance to listen her music.
You should react to Pentatonix' cover of this song! 😃 It's beautiful version too. They don't have music video for that song but you can find the audio video here in UA-cam 😊
@@StevenInStereo I have watched one of your videos where u have mentioned that you want to react to Sarah G's interviews to know her better. So I have researched some videos to recommend. 🤣 please do react to FUNNY SIDE OF SARAH GERONIMO, it's a compilation.

I feel in love with kesha after praying. Cant wait for the new album!
So true, its powerful and a force to be reckon with. I love High Road too❤
rainbow is so amazing the best album/project of the last 4 years
So true
Learn to Let Go touched me deeply, especially the music video. It's a reminder to appreciate the roots of your childhood, not to take yourself too seriously, and to focus on the future.
This song deserved the grammy...
she performed this song at the grammys
199 percent
every single time i watch this video i cry THE POWER THAT IT HAS
I remember a critic saying the only reason he didn't put "Praying" higher on his year end list when it first came out was that he couldn't take the emotional gut-punch every time he heard it so he had to ease off her music for a bit.
All these years later & it still makes me cry every time.

That’s awesome!
it’s ok to say you weren’t expecting that from her, i think most ppl were absolutely stunned by it, it’s so different and raw

This album made me fall in love with Kesha. She is a goddess. Thank you Mother Kesha for saving so many of us who were on the brink of despair🙏❤
Her best song for sure. I love like crazy her pop songs, but this is my favourite Kesha. One of my 20 favourites ever. Emotional Kesha all the way man
I was floored the first time I heard it, but I think it was a perfect song for her come back single. So much power and emotion.

Austin Infinity Same for me. It helped me heal.
I want her to possibly perform that one high note in the song in the nearby future 😭🤞
Her doing that note shut down the critics saying she needed autotune. She proved she's a musical powerhouse.
@@TheEmerald97 Yes but it is also very soothing to the ears.
@@danielphung6146 oh totally! It's one of my favorite songs
@@TheEmerald97 Well, that note has a little bit of studio fixing, but I get your point.
@Mischell incorrect, because she did perform it live on her performances
Her song Rainbow from the same album, lyrically is sadder to me than Praying
And it was co written by Ben Folds. Such a great song
Rainbow is such a glorious song 💖
The first 30 seconds I'd heard of it I knew it was ben folds which made me even happier they collaborated ❤
The first time I heard this song my jaw hit the floor! I had so many chills and now this is my favorite song by her
I somehow always get full body goosebumps when I hear this song. It's so honest and powerful.
I'm DYIN at how huge his eyes go at that whistle note.

To think this powerful ballad made her comeback in 2017. Definitely check out her Rainbow album.
You need to listen to Rainbow. This album saved me and I didn't know I needed saving.
This woman is a pheonix... and this was her rebirth
Oh No, your not "that guy". You hit the nail on the head about Dr. Luke.
You look like you grew up listening to rock and metal and we’re watching as your music tastes expand greatly

You should really react to her album Rainbow. It really takes you on a journey and since you liked this single I think you'd really enjoy it!
