During the process of making How Strong videos! I use a multitude of different sources (Google,Reddit,Wikia Even UA-cam and etc) and things to make my job of filming videos like this easier! To find scans much faster. Colossus can lift in excess of 100 tons. In the early years he was in the 75 ton range, but as he has grown and matured so has his strength.
He had a serious power upgrade during the Siege Perilous time that should have put him in the 100 Ton range back then. After being Juggernaut, i'd think that his strength was raised as a side affect after he lost that aspect.

Says who you? He's is as always in the 90 ton range. He's no Thor, Hulk, Sentry, Juggernaut, Gladiator, Hyperion or even Wonder man but he's strong

Colossus is underrated. One of the things that makes Colossus so impressive is his non-strength attributes. Like not having to breathe or eat in his armored form. Or simply having an armored form that's nearly indestructible. That means he can outlast foes that are physically stronger than he is. He's also a highly trained fighter who doesn't just come in throwing haymakers. He uses angles and leverage. All that combined and he can hang with powerhouses in a higher strength class. That's why all the other powerhouses respect him.
Colossus has been my favourite character since the 90’s. always felt he was underused and underrated . Some of the coolest powers in the marvel universe. They still don’t do him justice on the big screen as well.

Colossus, at the time when he joined The
X Men, he was Class 70. That means he was 17 years old and could LIFT 70 TONS over his head at 17 years old.
He is now Class 100 and beyond. Meaning he can lift waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over 100 tons over his head.
When they say stuff like this it means that he can lift 70 tons with little to no effort that’s what a lot of people get confused. He is stronger but now he can lift 100 Tons with little to no effort. That goes for Superhumans not Enhanced people

According to the "The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe" published in the 80's, WonderMan is maxed out at being able to press 90 tons. Thor was 95 tons. The Abomination was 100 tons, and the Hulk was over 100 tons when really really angry, but when not angry below 100 tons.
@@joestriker2100 Hulk is 70 tons out of the gates and grows with anger with no upper limit known at that time.
Underrated by far!! It's so much that be could done with his abilities, it's a shame Marvel is honing in on his potential popularity boost.

Has Magneto ever helped enhance and reinforce Colossus's strength in a battle? I imagine if he did then Colossus could definitely take Hulk on.

colossus has always been afraid of releasing his full strength on other mutants and villain's for fear of killing them or doing great harm , much like Superman in D.C. comics he only uses his full power on less than sentient creatures or beings who have no control of their own!!
He is also known for being a warrior poet , which means he would rather choose a path of peace over violence.
As in many issues when he feels that there is great wrong being done most especially to the innocent he will become enraged and allow his true power to come to light !!
I love Collossus and the thing they are both underrated. The should team up and dou a lot more comics together
Man, he even gets under-rated by his main squeeze. Kitty walked from the altar even though the only name she ever calls during * Ahem fun times * is Peter... That says something. (I very much choose to believe she bounced because she knows at heart she's not worthy of him; not the other way around - but the writers do treat him like her back up, safety net cause she knows he'll stick through everything until she figures herself firmly out * Which might take a while, because you know... intangible. Hard to stand firm when you can't even feel the ground you're standing on) Am I alone in Grooting for those two at the end? o. O - Side note: if their kids inherit facets of both powers we'd have biological variants of Vision for Wanda to play with instead, when he grows up.
He can be as strong as the writer wants him to be but it appears Colossus is being used as a supporting cast. The same principle as Captain Marvel was used in the Avengers End Game.
Yo thanks for this,covering my main man Colossus! He is 100% underrated! I read awhile back somewhere that at the time Colossus had not yet reached his full strength potential level! Its always been hard to like the Hulk,but I love Colossus and Thing because of their determination!
What a fun and accurate video. Colossus has long been my favorite X-MAN since the 80s. Soft spoken, but then cassually rips MASTER MOLD'S leg off and casually tosses it aside. What a baller, he doesn't talk, he'll show you. I always considered it somewhat of a nod that he's in the big leagues when Marvel editorial was okay with Claremont making him equivalent to the Thing in strength.
Colossus my favorite xman. I think colossus is always under rated. I think the writers need to explore how he uses his power. It’s always stated as an “extra dimensional” source.

Colossus had a couple good feats since he held up a collapsing skyscraper and stopped a massive speeding train. Also that barrier Strange couldn't bust through Wolverine was also not able to damage it with his claws.

I litterly came here to see how strong he was because of that thought that he is so under rated. I'm going off the episode where the X-Men in the animated series based on the comics thought Colossus was guilty but it was Juggernaut destroying all those buildings and getting away with the money. And who in the world did they ask to come help him Colossus without him by their side they would not have a chance. So thank you for your video and work is wisely put together.

Perfect video 💯👌🏾I am a huge fan of Colossus I use to play as him all the time in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, I love his power abilities. Colossus has superpowered strength able to lift 75 tons and above when in metallic form 100 tons is the max he can lift I believe, Knows some Martial Arts, Stamina, Invulnerability, and Endurance, this isn't a power but Colossus grows a foot in height when he goes into his metallic form. I love the X-Men because of Colossus he is very much so underrated.

Colossus was my 4th favorite super hero growing up as a kid.
First it was Bat man, then about...1975ish it was Spider Man, then The Hulk and about somewhere between 79 and like 81, maybe 82 I liked Colossus. I read the X-Men comics JUST because of Colossus lol.

100% this video. In the game X-Men Legends, Colossus holds up a column of the Boshnoy Nuclear Power Plant for three days straight. In one of the earlier Fantastic Four comics, The thing was so strong he pressure welded a steel door closed by lightly pressing the pieces together, lightly. Both are underrated and deserve more respect.

rendering Colossus incapacitated and having to be dragged to safety.
Oh Colossus is stronger than the Thing. Colossus is so underrated. Nobody since Claremont has written Colossus well at all. He is around 125 ton range.

During the Claremont days in the 90s the XMen and the Hellfire Club were getting trucked by Nimrod. Kitty phased Colossus underground and he came up underneath Nimrod and busted him into pieces until he teleported away. No easy feat.
Collosus is my boy... He’s been my fav mutant for years. I like him because he is underrated, he gets overlooked until yur flying through the air with yur jaw hurting. lol

Great character, deep and action packed! Back in the day, 80-100 toners were hard to quantify in striking force and durability seemed nearly invulnerable. Most got some power upgrades, though. The MU Handbook stats for many characters don't match their feats.

To me you fogot the most historical feat of Colossus: Going to hell, BRAWLING the hell out of hell, being UNHARMED because of his courage and inocense, kicking Mephistos butt to the googol level because Mephisto couldnt hurt or manipulate him because he is a true paladin, until mephisto decided to sent him back to Earth, with the soul of his sister, and the process made his armor also resistant against magic, the only thing he wasnt resistant before.
He is just underated because back in 80's 90's "good guys" werent high on story creation stuff, so they find him boring, just there to "complete" the X-Men, but his strength was always rated as comparable to Thor.

I know Colossus while i was playing Ultimate Alliance (i thought he was captain atom from JL animated series, back then), i always choose him because his design look so cool.
On thing never made sense to me about Colossus, and thats its outfit. I know its been a staple of his design for decades, its how he's recognized, but it really never made sense to me the fact he had cloths over his near invulnerable skin.
I know he needs underwear obviously for modesty, but because Peters powers are him being a tank, being at the front of taking damage and pushing back with all his strength, he will be the one taking frontal damage, he's made to do that, so imagine someone with fire based powers attacks him, his uniform would be burnt off but his invulnerable skin would be fine.
If anything having more fabric covering him is a liability, because it gives someone finding him something to grab onto and thrown him, since his main fighting technique is getting up close and physical. Heck Beast, who isn't invulnerable (though has a lesser healing factor) only wears underwear, so aside from image value, Colossus wearing that uniform never made sense, if his cloths took on a metallic form like his own skin then maybe it would, but it doesn't.

He's one of the few who just picked a fight with the Juggernaut. He lost but he gave him some issues.

Colossus is so under rated , Wolverine once let him pick a fight with the Juggernaut ( Colossus didn't know it was the Jug because he was in regular cloths , but Wolvie can sniff anything out ) , he let them fight so Colossus could get some "Stress Relief" .

My first introduction to Colossus was through X2: X-Men United in which he owned two Weapon X soldiers as if they were mere toys. To me, that shit is still badass and hilarious to me. However, my fandom of this character came through the legendary and iconic 1992 X-Men animated series.

In the late 70's and early 80's Cololusus was rated at 70-75 tons. The Thing between 80-90 tons .

Someone else who is extremely underrated, much like Colossus, is Donna Troy. According to DC writers, she's not as strong/powerful as Wonder Woman, but her strength and power rivals that of her older sister. Even if Donna's power level is only 75% of Diana's, that's still fantastically powerful considerably how powerful Wonder Woman is. Could you please do a Donna Troy video?
