Excellent demonstration and very nice playing. Fabulous guitar with quality tones and features, and at a great price.

I just bought this guitar from Empire Music. Joe was great with the setup and with responding to my emails about this guitar. I ordered it on a Wednesday and had it Friday. The color is so nice in person. It's hard for vids and pics to do it justice. Plays and sounds amazing. Many people are saying $1,000 is too much for a MIM Strat, but it's just a great guitar for the price regardless of where it was made. The normal Player Strats go for $829-$909 and this one has many upgrades for not much more money, plus the fret board is rosewood ,not Pau Ferro, bone nut, USA Pure Vintage 59 pickups, Classic Gear Tuners. Plus it's a limited edition to just over 1,500 made.

What about fretboard experience? I'm asking because I've tested regular Player not so long ago and it was awful (comparing to Player Plus, for instance). Hard, rough, etc..

So the fretboard on this Player model is actually Rosewood. The regular Player Strats do not come with Rosewood. It's either Pao Ferro or Maple fretboards. This 70th Anniversary Model in Nebula Noir is the exception. It feels and plays amazingly. Nicely rolled edges. I also have a maple fretboard Player ( plus top) and it's amazing too,but this 70th Model has USA Pure Vintage 59 pickups which sound better than the regular Player series pickups.

I asked about this because when I arrived at the store, the situation was like this: the fingerboard of regular Player was dry, unpleasant to touch, the feeling of the bending and vibrato was as if I was scrubbing with sandpaper. When I was handed the Player Plus, I felt like melting into the butter.

    • @LuisMorales-xr1gm

So it sounds like that sandpaper feeling you felt when bending the strings was the frets needed to be polished. I've felt that before. It's horrible. Do you remember if it was a Pao Ferro fretboard or a maple?I've heard many people complain about the Pau Ferro being dry

Pau ferro, obviously. I'm always interested only in dark fretboards.
Maybe it needs some polish too? Or butter? Oil?
But there is more. The regular Player looks like a toy from Walmart. The body is ok.. The neck, well, it looks and feel like synthetic bone, not wood. The tuners, even if locking model, looks like from can in car repair shop - no name tuners, they event aren't polished. That Nebula you own has vintage tuners and this is the problem for me. But those awful tuners from regular Player are not acceptable.
It seems that I need Jeff Beck signature strat which is straight road to divorce, if you know what I mean...

The guitar is lively. It has a very big sound. I bet it would sound great wound up like a 70's rocker might do.

In your website it's sold for $1K, but this guitar is sold for around $1200ish in my country which is odd. Usually it's the other way around or cheaper in my country by $100-200.

What about fretboard feelings compare to the standard Player series which offer awful experience.

@texasalchemy2343 leads sound great on this! If you're using a lot of gain, roll the bridge tone down to half, but the neck can be as bright as you want
