Not the ShoeTuber we deserve, but definitely the one we need! Thanks for the HONEST review and revisit. You confirmed what i suspected and as a taller heavier runner this doesn't sound like it'll work for me like the V1 did. Maybe if I need a tempo short run workout shoe, but then again other options out there. The V1 was unique and loved most things about it. A tweak to it would've been nice but a total redesign just baffles me. Like take a best selling luxury SUV and next year keep the name but make it a sports sedan. Total head scratcher.. Rant over. Keep up the great work Andrew! I might not belive in the run anymore but I believe in you! Hahaha
I have the Deviate Nitro 2 (not elite) and I really like the Nitro foam and the PumaGrip. I'm mostly using them for shorter runs now as I find I like something with a wider base for longer runs when my form might be breaking down more. I always click on your videos because, even if it's a topic (or shoe) I'm not that interested in, I know it will be entertaining.
Most compromised reviews on the internet! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills as seemingly the only other person who notices this.. Oh and don't forget they campaigned to lower the weight with direct input to NB with their suggestions.
@@nicholas5396Yep. I don’t see how people trust any of their reviews. Especially ASICS reviews since they sponsor pretty much everything they do. Either people are too blind to see it or don’t care.

Good video. I find my V2’s are pretty nice to pick up the pace in. They are so so at slower speeds. Also, the outsole on mine are really beat up after 150 miles. I’m into the foam in a few spots already.
So so at slower speeds has been my experience also. Thanks for sharing. I’ll keep my eye on the outsole . I won’t be reaching for them very frequently tho with so many other options in my closet
Tried so hard to love em, just couldn't. The day I had a 90 min long run and didn't wear em because I didn't trust them, I knew it was the end. I only lasted about 60 miles. Boston 12 has been a welcomed replacement for me. Does all the runs I hoped these did.
I saw a good review from run doctors on Boston 12 v kinvara pro. Said Boston 12 was solid long run shoe, especially if you are going to have mixed paces . Aka the spicy long run
@@MidLifeRunner I stopped using it. I have enough fast shoes. I run a PB 8K in them BUT had bad back pain for a couple of days after. Never suffer from back pain so it's the protected feeling in the legs let you push harder up the chain to the weakest point... For Tempo runs they are just heavy. Why run in a heavy clunky shoe when for the same price in run in the New Balance SC Elite V3.. By the way.. The Elite V3 excellent also for slow long runs.
@@i.p2088 elite 3 is one of my favorites and I got it on sale cheaper than sc trainer v2. It makes sense about your back. I was using them for longer intervals and the Takumi sen for shorter ones but honestly , like you said the shoe gets heavy deep into the workout
New balance sc trainer v2 vs sc elite v3 which one for daily normal running 30 min on treadmill and for walking and daily wearing casually which one should i go in my country they are both at kind of same price
Did 2 runs in them. I have the New Balance SC Elite V3 as well.. The SC Trainer V2 is heavy... I really feel the weight going uphill and in a long run. Despite the review I find it very stable in the heel. Grip on gravel quit terrible and you collect huge rocks in the outsole and need to stop to take out. Bounce is very good and I can understand why some might find the front unstable. I am a heel striker and it just works. Upper very roomie but I need to do a heel lock to keep it tight.
Thanks for the feedback. I do like the lockdown. And the room up front. It’s heavy but for me it felt lighter because I ran in them after running in v1 for comparison. And v1 is super heavy
I don’t usually have issues with over pronation. These collapse in a way that irritates my shins over time (long runs or walking). Seth James demoor did a really good review on it also. He said v1 foam was more dense and added more stability and I agree
Thanks for this vid. I am about to pull the trigger on the grey pair of SC 1s from an obscure running site, but not sure the fit. I’ve only worn 1080 v12s, do you know if sizing is the same?
Yes my v1 were true to size. Some people had trouble with the lockdown (stretchy upper) but I did not. If anything it would be too loose rather than too tight
Send THAT boy some shoes, and is there a running store that carries Puma (the Devite Nitro 2) so I can try them on without having to order them from Puma? I couldn’t find one in either San Diego or Boulder!
I am unaware. Down here in Texas we have a Puma outlet between Austin and San Antonio but they only have a few running shoes , not sure they have the elites. The v1 feel true to size for me. Snug . Not sure it’s very super. You’re not missing out on anything -after my first run. I’ll make an initial thoughts in a couple of weeks
I have very similar views on this shoe. I started out loving it on my first couple of runs. I’m now at 60 miles and wore them again yesterday and wanted to thrown them out after the run. I feel like I’m fighting the shoe. Its too squishy and unstable and I dont notice any benefit from the plate. I feel really sluggish in the shoe and hard to pick up the pace in it. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the Superblast as my main shoe this year but I just cant seem to get along with the SC V2
It’s great I use it daily it’s a daily trainer not a race day shoe ran some half marathons in it no problem the heel also why you heel striking I don’t get it and why would you wear a carbon plate shoe casually I thanks but I love mine
I have to say stability little loose not a entry level recommend I agree with Homer on build specs new balance. and send the man some shoes ...well deserved tuber
I feel like I can’t be a real runner as I’m just not into running shoes. 😂 I have 2 pairs. One for training and one for racing. Although I do want the best race shoe.
