Really cinematic shots. The sky was really in your favour for the parking lot shots at 4:02. When I first saw your instagram post, I had thought that you had special access and managed to get into the grocery stores after hours, but now I'm impressed that you had the guts to lug in an entire tripod in there.
DUde these shots came out so rad. even the day time stuff looks so good. What a dope film! I wish it wasnt sold out everywhere. Great video and looking forward to more.
This made me want to shoot my remaining roll of CineStill. I had the same experience with my first roll where I just kind of had shots from all over the place in varying quality. But I think you definitely showed that if you put the time in and are selective with what you shoot, bring a tripod, and give it a bit of love you can get some sick images. Loving your channel man.
I’ve been shooting a lot of night scenes lately and favour portra 160 and Lomo 800 over cinestill for a number of reasons but mainly for their consistency. Absolutely loved the shopping trolley shots. Keep up the good work man and tell Ricky I said hi
Cool video and photos! I liked the car park photo and the lamppost between the trees the best. I like how you use a hand held mic. I’m waiting for the beat box rap lol.
A quick tip I've been using for a while: if your scans come out with color noise (common with home scanning), you can easily remove it by using the color noise reduction slider, with no effect on the image.
Fun Fact the reason Costco put carts in front of the roll up doors is because in the early 2010's a robber would run a van thru the doors and steal the bank vault and the carts would stop them more than concrete blocks. when I was in collage I pushed carts for them and that was the official mandate.
Nice. Chair shot was my favorite. Got a 35mm roll of 800T here, need to load it up soon and see what I can get. Also, did you NOT shoot the leftover McDonald’s...??
Loving your videos man, very down to earth and your shots are super nice. The trolley/bin one! 🤙 What do you film yourself with for your videos? Thanks!
Do you develop in C41 or ECN2? I developed 50D in C41 as the package says but it comes out with a yellow tint and too green. I heard you’re suppose to use ECN2
C41. From my understanding that’s the intention behind Cinestill. Of course it is a movie film so I suppose it’s made for ECN2 originally, but by removing the remjet it allows for the c41 process. Perhaps the true intended look could be achieved by developing in ECN2, but I don’t have any labs up here capable of that. Would be an interesting experiment though!
Is a cable release 100% necessary? Just wondering because when I first got mine, the “needle” part extended too far and broke my shutter button :(. Have a roll of Cinestill in right now and I’ve been delicately holding down the button lol. Anyway.. I am a filmmaker at heart too and really enjoyed this video !
What is it with photographers owning Subarus? You've got one, Willem Verbeek has one, I have one. All first/second gen Imprezas/WRXs. Had an 04 blobeye wagon that I burned down by accident, but still have my 95 Impreza wagon competing in stage rally.
They're really just the neatest little cars, and out here in Missouri they just haven't caught on. Luckily I've found them and would own them over and over and over again. Truly a life-changing vehicle.
Usually love moderate grain, but didn’t feel like it worked well with many of these photos. It was too heavy. Will probably shoot Cinestill again and try overexposing slightly to see what kind of results that lends me.
Don’t get me wrong I do love grain but it was just too strong in the shadows on a lot of these. Probably would’ve looked better with some higher quality scans also.
Dude I recently shot an entire video shooting a roll of HP5 and my lab fucked up the development and ruined the roll. Got no images out of it... will be shooting another roll soon for a video!
Don't rate this film at 800! Thats why your shots came out so grainy. You under exposed. This film is actually Kodak 5219 which is a 500 iso film and it needs even more light under mixed lighting situations. I never ever shoot this at box speed.
@@BraeHunziker That's kinda the point though isn't it? Hey, I don't mean to be aggressive or anything, you do you, but I just don't really understand that decision I guess.
That shot of the trash can and carts is so clean. The can in the foreground definitely makes it. Good shape and composition. 👌🏻
Thank you very much, Matt!
Strong frames Brae. You’re going to ace that school project this year!!
Thank you!! That’s the dream :’)
got to give it to you for taking the tripod in the store takes sum balls that I don't have! lol
Hahah it’s easier knowing I have the school project line in my back pocket 😉
Fr I always feel ashamed getting kicked out of places 😓

Loooove the chair shot at 6:18. Beautiful
Thanks Sierra!
I love the idea of Cinestill, but I’ve never been able to produce the images I have in my mind when I use it.
You, however, absolutely nailed it.
It’s definitely a peculiar film. I can’t see myself shooting it consistently, but it’s fun from time to time!
I like how you are on your own man. it's much more relatable than youtubers who have someone to film them. keep'em coming!
Appreciate it! It’s a challenge but also rewarding/relaxing to move at my own pace. Cheers!
I loved the shot of sink at 0:36. The woodland in the background seems to take it up a notch.
Thank you!
Love the carts/trash can shot...but also the single old Hyundai sedan (?) under the parking lot lights and trees is pretty amazing.
Why thank you very much!
the carts with the trash can did go crazy. Really nice stuff!
Thank you Drew!
the one with the carts was bomb but I think 4:20 shot was my fave. Reminded me of an 80s movie still 😍😍
Thanks! Love that one as well!
DUde these shots came out so rad. even the day time stuff looks so good. What a dope film! I wish it wasnt sold out everywhere. Great video and looking forward to more.
This is such a cool idea. Shot @4:01 is a killer. Great job dude!
Thank you, Logan!
Great shots. I loved the one with the cone at the petrol station
Thanks Jamie!
I live in Asia now. Seeing Safeway and Costco just feels so much like home. Thx for this! That shot with the moon was FIRE.
Thank you!
The clouds passing over the moon make that shot for me. Also, whatever you're filming the video on looks amazing in 4K.
Thanks bob! Glad the moon got in there, definitely completes the image.
The school project line always cracks me up
always the move haha
Recently picked up some 800T as well, but in 120. Love the results you got!!
Definitely prefer 800T in 120 format! Enjoy man!

Definitely an interesting film stock. I think I will try rating at 500 next time. Enjoy shooting! Thanks for the comment 🤘🏻
I just found this channel randomly and what the fuck dude you're like my favourite parts from other Film Photography channels combined into one.
Wow thanks for the complement! Glad you’re enjoying!
Damn that cone shot is magic! Also good on you pickin up that trash ✊
thank you! trying to do my part :)

Haha thank you! I need to shoot more Lomo, and need to try 160 at night as well! Cheers!
Thanks for the Lr Tip Brae. Great stuff. Keep safe champion!
Cheers mate!
Cool video and photos! I liked the car park photo and the lamppost between the trees the best. I like how you use a hand held mic. I’m waiting for the beat box rap lol.
Thanks Stephen! And haha it will be coming soon don’t worry 😉
That’s my car in Eagle tire 💀
No way hahah
Tell your car it is a great model
Well done! Great shots.
Thanks! Cheers!
I love cinestill...Tasty grain for my eyes
Great film for us grainsluts 😆
I'm addicted. Binge watching all of them and I'm nearly caught up haha
The moon picture and to cone at the gas station are pretty cool
i always love your background
Great video man, love the shots 🔥
Thanks Andrew!
A quick tip I've been using for a while: if your scans come out with color noise (common with home scanning), you can easily remove it by using the color noise reduction slider, with no effect on the image.
Oh rad, thanks for the tip!
I think the noise reduction in LR looks a lot better with film, kind of adds to the testure. Digital is another story though.
Haven’t messed with noise reduction on digital images before! I will have to check it out and note the differences. Thanks!

Hahah no way, never would’ve thought of that
so many good photos!
Thank you!
fireeeee, whats your fav hour to shoot ?
Thank you! And great question, recently i have enjoyed just after sunset (blue hour).
getting vibes from those carts
Nothin like some cart vibes to end the roll!
Lovley photos
Thanks!
Boom. Dig it!
Thanks!
8:24 INCREDIBLE photo. id buy that
amazing
8:23 uhh yes, such a nice picture !!
Thank you Daniel!
nice work as always mane :)
Thank you homie 🤝
Some good shots!
Much appreciated!
Can you tell us your shutter speed and aperture in the trash can and carts shot? That's definitely my fave
This was some time ago I can’t remember man haha
hey Brae, what ballhead are you using for your tripod? Looking for something that would be good for vertical shots as well.
What brand of cake is that at 3:12?
lovely my man
Thanks Alex!
shot at 8:46 is littttttt
🙏🏻

Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words Lynton! I use a gh5s for recording.
Sick photos man! Love the Hawkeye btw, I got a blob eye myself🤙🏽 what focal length did you use for these pictures?.
Thanks man! 35mm lens
Boy I love these shots now I just wonder how it would look if you cross process to E-6❤️
Thank you! That’d be a fun experiment!
just found this channel but yes

The shot at 3:50 is soo sick
Appreciate it!

Have a roll of Cinestill in right now and I’ve been delicately holding down the button lol. Anyway.. I am a filmmaker at heart too and really enjoyed this video !
Not 100% necessary, just makes it more convenient. If you’re camera has a self timer you can always use that!
There is digital noise from a bad scan & then there is glorious grain from the film stock. I keep the grain.

haha no way, that's so rad! Those guys are bulletproof
They're really just the neatest little cars, and out here in Missouri they just haven't caught on. Luckily I've found them and would own them over and over and over again. Truly a life-changing vehicle.
I think the pictures turned out very nice!! :)
Which Lightmeter App do you use?
Thanks! Mylightmeter pro
Fap content! Thanks bro!)
What did you use to meter?
My light meter pro app
are you metering these with your iPhone?
Yep!
Which camera u use to record this?
Gh5s
What tripod is that?
neewer carbon fiber, but I wouldn't buy it. They're not that great
Love the shots Brae, do you develop your film here in WA?
Thank you! Yep, I go to speedy ePhoto in parkland.
How do you take film and put it into Lightroom? Isn't it on a roll and not digital?
Just get some digital scans done!
So am I correct to think that you don't scan yourself? That might be worth to explore in the future and might even make a cool video or two...
I do not, but I am definitely looking to get into it soon.
Why would you get rid of the grain structure? Bro...
Usually love moderate grain, but didn’t feel like it worked well with many of these photos. It was too heavy. Will probably shoot Cinestill again and try overexposing slightly to see what kind of results that lends me.
a like and subscribe because you picked up the garbage.
Dude, you're killing the grain! Try with some heavy sharpening, instead.
Don’t get me wrong I do love grain but it was just too strong in the shadows on a lot of these. Probably would’ve looked better with some higher quality scans also.
Yo ik it’s not your vibe, and I respect that, BUT! Please do a vid of black and white homie!
Dude I recently shot an entire video shooting a roll of HP5 and my lab fucked up the development and ruined the roll. Got no images out of it... will be shooting another roll soon for a video!
Brae Hunziker yooooo. you gotta snag some cinestill df96, it’s seriously so good
2:37 hahahahahahahah. Nothing truer has ever been said.
Ol faithful! Haha

De-noising film scans?? Blasphemy!
Haha I usually would never as I love grain but it was highly aggressive on these images.
@@BraeHunziker That's kinda the point though isn't it? Hey, I don't mean to be aggressive or anything, you do you, but I just don't really understand that decision I guess.
