It's tastePINK and welcome (back) to my channel! This is one of my latest easy natural hairstyles. This is the faux braided mohawk / braided faux hawk protective style on 4C natural hair (the humidity was real). I'll show you step by step how to do this no cornrows braided faux hawk technique, so you can SLAY!

I struggle with my hair but I get it done
+tastePINK I have the same issue with my hair, and it's a more recent issue, maybe in the past year/year and a half. I was using the Olive Oil edge control (two different kinds), then I had to switch to Creme of Nature Argan Oil Perfect Edges, now I'm using Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil Edge Hair Gel. The last one (like the rest) started off great...had my edges doing The Mannequin Challenge again just the way I like, but then it's like my hair got used to it or something and the two don't want to play together anymore. LOL It's to the point now where I have to use both gel and edge control. Most times I get better results if I apply the edge control first and then the gel. But it's still a struggle. Lately, my hair has just been really frizzy like I've applied nothing to it, so still trying to find something that works. May have to come up with my own concoction because products these days don't seem to have as long of a shelf life or as good of a hold as what they used to...but are still expensive! LOL +tastePINK

I know it's early, but this looks like some perfect winter holiday glam hair(New Year's Eve) for me! Again, your natural hair is THRIVING, and I love tea tree oil! Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Rosemary is also a good antiseptic/antifungal oil I like to use while protective styling in the summer. Love watching your creativity.

This video was so on time!! I'm gonna try this (w/o the cornrows... I can't cornrow worth a damn..lol) To answer your question, my hair reverts back no matter what I use!! So far I've tried EcoStyler gel, ProStyle gel, and the Smooth-n-hold pudding by ORS... I'm gonna try the Murray's pomade with this style. If that doesn' t work, I'll think I'll try Beeswax.

I love this!!! I try to keep my reversion at bay by doing styles like this on my wet hair. I style the base wet, wrap it in the sanex wraps and a scarf and let it dry then go in with the hair. I can't do it on dry hair because I'll be piling products on top of products to stop it from curling back up.

Reverting is such a struggle and the shrinkage don't play fair.... I can't cornrow but a very pretty style!
