As old d&d and baldur’s gate player I just love Minsc & boo and their “speeches”. 😂 happy new year and thanks for all the great content you deliver every day. Special thanks also for this kind of contents on Timeless. It’s new and not everybody feels comfortable delving into it just out of the blue (me, for example). Watching you doing timeless helps understanding the format and making our minds on what to craft and what not to. Really appreciated.

Had four copies of Minsc sitting in my collection from drafting/sealed the Baldur's Gate set. Now I'm happy I got them.

19 lands is absolutely insane. The regular land count for that deck is 21 and that's with running DRS and Oko instead of Minsc.
Shuffler is fine.
As someone who knows how the handsmoother works and riggs draws he is realizing the appropriate land counts. I'm very happy he is learning the fetchlands are important as well as they "float" and break the shuffler. I can pound any deck into the mud through legal card manipulation so I play significantly less and just want to watch Cgb's lightbulb turn on.

You could argue with running 3 once apon a times that he is almost running 20 lands but yeah super greedy for sure

If they really wanted this format to succeed they should have launched it by giving everyone 10 free rare wildcards. I just can’t justify spending so much money when I don’t even have all the rare Standard lands yet
This format is not that expensive if you've played for a long time. My biggest issue is the upshifted rares from Strixhaven. I understand they didn't want every pack in limited having bolt or counterspell, but since these are the only versions of the cards available in Arena it makes it stupid. I have the wildcards but I refuse to use rare wildcards to craft common and uncommon cards. This is digital, it's fixable. Just change the rarity in the database.
At least this deck is very similar to the historic version. You could port and upgrade the list, but there's still a heavy wildcard commitment.

Blood moon wrecks this deck so much harder than other greedy mana bases
I'd add a basic plains: if you run into a deck that usually has blood moon you can fetch it in advance and exile it with a leyline binding (not 100% safety byt blood moon decks take a turn off to durdle aka cast their blood moon so you have a bit more time)
Blood moon is very slow in timeless. I have a monored burn with 4 copies of blood moon. It's always conflicting to cast a blood moon or focus more on taking down your opponent asap. Also in turn 3 many things already happened. Ragavan can't also help since that ape is always a primary target. Maybe if lotus petal would get introduced in arena then things will get spicy. (Oh man really miss my hatred deck)
That first game was very painful to watch. It is fun seeing the meta evolve to card advantage without actually drawing cards. Dorkish Bowmaster is strong.

the counters feel very bad in the deck. it already seems like you have a bad curve because of the preponderance of 2 casting cost over 1, and holding mana open for highly iffy interaction just ain't it.
OTOH you know you have an absolutely hilarious format when a 5/3 for 2 feels slow.
Yeah I think 4 of them in Bo1 is too much. I personally run only 3 but I can see going down to even 2.
There's definitely matchups where they are completely dead cards but in others they are very helpful to either keep your creatures alive or counter a Blood Moon / Necropotence / One Ring.
you hate rakdos burn, but how about rakdos storm? it has all the appearances of rakdos burn but it runs 4 underworld breach 4 dark rituals and 1 tendrils of agony

This might be a dumb question, but how do I send a deck list to CGB to see if he would play it?
A couple years back, he asked if people would please stop sending him deck lists. His inboxes would get flooded with deck lists everyday, and half of them were barely competitive.

Just not a fan of Timeless. I don't see that it solves any of the issues people have with Standard. I *really* don't understand the "Standard is stale, play Timeless" comments... because Timeless is no different from Standard. There are like 4 decks, and that's it.

Happy to watch folks like CGB play this format, but there’s no way I’m putting myself through it. This format is just ridiculously powerful, not my cup of tea as a player.

Watching you pilot this deck hurt my soul. You definitely need more practice with it. Either way great video and content as always.
Ngl, this whole deck is greedy and assumes itll stay on the board. The counter spell i think is the worst spell showcased. When you need to counter a wincon, you won't always have your board. Better off running memory lapse if you really just want to counter 1 spell and win.
I'd also recommend pruning some of the low CMC beat sticks for powerful lol CMC counters or spot removal. When your deck is the definition of over the top, you don't need a lot of extra help. But you always need extra control to keep the finish line wide open.
