If you are confused/uncomfortable about Silco and Jinx's relationship they did that on purpose. They wanted to the relationship to appear very blur lined
Not just blur lined it's representative of a lot of different mental diseases caused by severe trauma and manipulation. Jinx shows signs of stockholm, schizophrenia (psychosis), psychotic breaks, Antisocial personality disorder (sociopathy) and a few more...all at a very young age. She clings to the only dominant male figure in her life both parentally and romantically because depicted in this age range she is going through puberty and she's combating those urges. Although, as we filter further it becomes more clear that she is most likely pansexual due to her mental illnesses unable to distinguish her emotional swings towards one sex or the other. She clings less and less to Silco as the show goes on and she gets past puberty stages and starts thinking more for herself.
The little animal is always with Heimerdinger its called a Poro. Is a little dog/goat thing from Freljord (Other region of the world of arcane), they are super loyal cute animals, and love cookies.
The reason why Vi being in prison was confusing was because Jinx saw a girl with pink hair and it triggered her. She contemplated if it was her or not later, but we know now where Vi has been since Marcus drugged her and dragged her away.
Something worth keeping in mind (well, maybe not so much anymore since you're doing these in pairs) is that the series was released in sets of 3 over 3 weeks... so 1-3 is the story of the girls' childhood and the Jayce/Viktor origin story, 4-6 has its own narratives, and then 7-9 wraps up the series-wide arc. Hence why the time jump feels a little weird when you're watching 3-4 back-to-back.
It’s interesting to see you mention schizophrenia without any further research. The cut animations you see in Jinx’s mind really mirror the way people draw their schizophrenic visions/the beings they see to a scary degree. The show really made me go down the deep guys about schizophrenia, especially in young brilliant minds.
That moment when Vi punches Powder never ceases to make me well up with tears. It's so raw and awful and real. I literally had to pause and step away for a moment the first time I saw it, it was so upsetting. But it makes what happens next make sense. This show is so unbelievably good.
"Good team, really good team" (me, knowing what's about to happen) Yesss? Arcane is set in an alternate reality - different world, different history. The nine episodes of season one are basically broken up into three different time periods - though the jump from the second three to the third isn't nearly as long as from the first to the second. Powder/Jynx has...issues.
Yeah.. prepare to cry.. in a lot of these episodes. Some are more upbeat, but it's really an intense drama series with political themes. It also pretty accurately displays and dives into trauma and mental illness. So very fun time for you :) But Silco sees himself in Powder/Jinx SO much. And they are a lot alike in their stories. He genuinely sees her as a daughter as well by the time we meet them again in episode 4.. Not that it's a completely healthy relationship at all, but an interesting and kind of sweet one. One thing with Powder/Jinx is that she has a split personality almost now, she still acts like a sweet innocent girl of around 10 years old (the age in the first three episodes), the time of the trauma.. she's stuck in pretty much (this happens in real life too for major trauma in people), and the other half is the dangerous Jinx, who is merciless and vindictive. Along with having PTSD, depression, anti-social tendencaies, self harm tendenacies, parnoia, delusions and much more.. yeah.. her mental is ruined
It's not really a split personality, though - a split personality has no awareness of what the other is doing... Jinx remembers and feels guilty about what happened in Episode 3, so clearly she's still the same person - trying to distance herself from the past and her trauma by taking a new name and a new persona that is radically different from Powder. She wants to not be Powder anymore, but she's still the same person - only changed by time and trauma. Or such is my understanding at least. One really neat detail I notice, that a lot of people seem to overlook is how completely Silco seems to trust Jinx: we never see him close to or touching almost anyone else in the show, yet he allows Jinx not only to be as close to him as she wants, but also trusts her to inject the Shimmer into his eye, considering how calm he is while she's basically poking him in the eye with a needle, we can surmise that she does this for him regularly, and he has completely faith not only that she will be able to do it properly, but also won't betray him.
@@LadyDoomsinger Even in the games, it`s implied part of the reason Jinx hates Vi so much is because she remembers being Vi`s baby sister Powder(She even has a minigun called "Pow-Pow" after Vi`s childhood petname for her) but Vi doesn`t remember Jinx being Powder until "Legends of Runeterra" plus Vi`s a Warden or Enforcer in the Games so Jinx and Ekko consider her a sell-out of Zaun to Piltover.
@@LadyDoomsinger Yep. Which is a big deal considering Silco`s complex about betrayal and abandonment which he shares with Jinx and is the source of their surrogate father/daughter relationship to begin with.
I don’t know if schizophrenic is the right word, but she definitely sees and hears things that aren’t there. There’s evidence that she has the whole time, just that she was more willing and able to control it before.
men? After having the complicity of a Councilwoman, time favors Jace making him the face of Piltover's progress while Victor becomes his shadow behind the scenes without mention almost by choice, possibly due to his origins in the suburban district or embarrassment to the public, but while Jace is more charismatic, good-looking and rubs shoulders with more high society characters, Victor is more deteriorated, uses a sling instead of a cane, is more stooped and secretly coughs. While the events take place, Jace gains power in the council and Silco is the mystery behind the traffic in the suburban district, this leads Caitlin to find Vi who spent all this time in prison.
"Steroids on crack" Best description of shimmer I've ever heard

3 and 4 back to back is a lot. You deserve hazard pay!
Episodes 3,6,7,8, and 9 are all 10/10 for me. One of the best seasons of television ever.
How can 5 not be on that list?!? ;) all good. Cheers!

Mel Medarda is fhe first cartoon character I've had a crush on in 20 years. Since I was a kid, basically. She kinda reminds me of my wife.
👌🏾 close to converting her to an anime watcher.

Great reaction Miya! Raw and honest. And you're very attentive, you spot things other reactors miss. (But yes, that was Violet at the end)
