nissan's e power serial hybrid is the feasible one actually. nowadays aftermarket throttle controller has quite advanced, i believe building one for serial hybrid is feasible due to the fact that you can use battery level and input throttle to generate the throttle for ECU without modifying original ECU (Its used originally for aftermarket cruise control). snap on motor for straight axle and independent suspension also have widely available on various output. same one for snap on generator, which you can put on the transmission output part. unlike parallel hybrid, serial hybrid doesnt have direct mechanical connection between engine to wheel anymore, hence more flexible on placement. only blocker i think the energy storage part for buffer. this is the key in hybrid efficiency since it will supply required torque during heavy use (acceleration, climbing, etc) reducing spike load to ICE engine which cause bad efficiency. aftermarket Lithium battery simply not safe enough and only in experimental stage. maybe we can see better once Solid State Battery comes and become cheaper

When driving, your car needs to fight these resistances: - Air: can't be regenerated during braking / slowing down. - Rolling: can't be regenerated during braking / slowing down. - Gradient resistance (going up/downhill): Most significant benefitting factor (if your daily commute is up and down). So basically while you are slowing down/ breaking, still all this energy is lost. Imagine accelerating from 0-100, then immediately let go of the throttle and slow down to 0. Only ~20-30% of that amount of energy that was "in the car" can be recovered. It's really not that much.
It is not such a great advantage. In a Tesla you may gain about 15 miles of range thanks to regenerative braking. It's really not that much considering the extra cost and complexity. In this smaller system, regenerative braking would give you only negligible benefits. It is better to keep your battery charged overnight, electricity will be cheaper than gas, and the electric motor can assist the main combustion engine, giving you more HP and fuel efficiency without killing your wallet.
Connecting an electric motor to drive the whole engine combustion system is absurd when it comes to reaching better and overall energy efficiency. I mean, the power from the electric motor is wasted to run the engine. Instead, the drive shaft and clutch mechanism can be altered so that the motor directly runs the drive train while the ICE remains in idle mode so that other dynamics of Teg car are functional.

Yep, there will be excessive. Pressure on belt which should be stronger and wider and on bearings which should be wider and botbbelt and bearings should be replaced much often. But idea is simple cheap and should working well especially in cities and acceleration from low rpm, it should be also disabled on high rpm in my opinion (to conserve battery/energy power and belt/bearings life).
