Good to see Rocket Rod again, would be better to see him on a trip.
What’s going on with his shoulder but
He will be back!
@@marleynugent2236 sneaky bit of camera anxiety cause its been too long since he's been infront of one!
@Marley Nugent l have the same problem but mines cause form a broken back and my shoulders go into over drive and try and go into a safe mode it's a nerve problem.. but I have been wondering why Rocket been like this 🤔..
But one thing for sure always great to see him
@@marleynugent2236 looks like a tic to me
Jocko.. the only one from 24/7 who knows anything about vehicles
That's a bit harsh...Shauno knows heaps about Toyotas and now he's finding out what he's been missing since he's had Darryl.
And Graham, well he knows heaps about Isuzu's and Bee-ah.
Good to see rocket rod again!
If you want a reliable and low maintenance 4x4 that you can daily drive then don't lift more than 2" and don't put tires larger than 33", you will save a lot of money and your rig will last much longer and be more reliable. You can do 95% of tracks with a setup like that.
Thats what i want to do once i buy a sequoia.. which is not exactly starting as an off road monster. I just want to overland and have a bit more capability.. no crazy stuff or rock crawling.
@@cayman9873 I love my Sequoia! Best vehicle I've ever had - would make a great overlanding rig. A locker at front or rear would sure be nice, but stock they're fairly capable.
@@jonhill9564 the only thing with the front locker and IFS is that cv's break easier with locker engaged
Graham proves that all the time. On the rare occasion when he goes around stuff it's usually something I wouldn't want to try anyway!
Love ya work Jocko. That was a good segment......
Rocket Rod needs a good physio on that right shoulder. Do it brother. would love to see you back.
we want a Rocket Rod come back, Please let him come back, we love him ever .
I love you ever xx
He’s obviously decided he doesn’t need to pay anymore.
Vic's had closed borders when they have been filming the last trips, hopefully there's more of him and Stu in the coming year!
Well done Jocko, very clear explanation of what to look out for. Thanks.
Rocket rod needs to come back on the next trip
Broken ego's are pretty common on tough tracks 😆
Jocko is the perfect addition to the team, super knowledgeable bloke and a bloody good sense of humour. Awesome to see Rocket Rob there, another super knowledgeable bloke 🙌🏾
how does one even get this knowledge? diesel mechanic?
Jocko, you really looked in your element in that vid! The passion you have for all things mechanical on your 4wbie shines like a pair of 100watt spotties on the bullbar! Thanks for the tips and tricks you shared, I reckon you should start a new series "Jocko's Toolbox"
When adding a lift kit in a vehicle with a rear break bias valve ensure you adjust that valve.
Ever since I lifter my ute my rear brakes have been a lot longer wearing, it's awesome.
@@Darndiddlyarn umm.... that means they ain't working like they should.. you need to adjust the rear brake bias...
You will find in heavy braking your front wheels will lock up well before your back ones causing you to not stop as quickly and you are more likey to loose control of the 4wd
@@hodgoes2001 lol sorry, should of put a wink on the end or something to make the satire more obvious.
Just replaced all 4 U-joints on my 2010 FJ after 10 yrs of service among U.S, Panama and now Canada. I'm no mechanic, but getting to know my car over the years has taught me to diagnose some issues like bad U-joints shaking from 65 to 70mph and up. Great to see these kind of videos from you guys. Keep it up.
Pretty good video Jocko! Glad to see Rocket Rod again, he needs a trip soon!
After a cape York trip change your cabin filter. Ours was like a red brick.
Awesome video, can you do a tutorial on how to replace all these problems that could happen, that be great!!!
awesome idea for next vid, well said mate !
Jock's video are so down to earth but educational!
Rocket Rod was flapping wing so hard he almost got airborne.
I have no idea what your saying
You should invite a 4wd24/7 fan over and do a maintenance check over the fans 4wd, it'll teach them some stuff and the ones watching eg shauno does one in Brisbane, Graham in WA, jock in Sydney etc etc
Need to do this for the fans , great move for 24/7 to do!!!
A chalange for Shauno, my 97 80 series against his 80 series up mt Walker trail.
That was great, well explained, more videos from Jocko🤘
Thanks mate!
Probably the most useful 4x4 videos I have ever seen. If you own a 90 series Tojo, keep a close on on the LBJs, if they go your front wheel can fall off!
Great tips. Thanks very much, confirmed a few things for my next service.
Washing the vehicle correct as well to proven rust and seized parts and also cleaning surfaces and spray painting them as well to keep the metal sealed
THIS, is what we need to know. Nice job fellas
Well done another great relative video to assist all DIY 4x4 owners.
Well made video and very important for us 4wders/tourers, thank you
Jocko is the best thing that ever happened to 4X4 Action/4WD247, actually understands engineering and puts it forward, and has a great comic effect to go with Grayo and Shauno.
Rocket Rod should be on the next trip
Excellent advice - Thanks you.
Thanks for a great video Jocko, that was absolute gold! Love to see you a lot more in the videos specially in the Ponylux!
24/7 is my favorite channel. Love it and look forward to watching it every week. *Gearboxs!!!?*
Great epp 4wd24/7 I actually learnt a few things thanks keep up the awesome work 🤙🤙
Glad to hear mate! Cheers
Great to see you are giving a bit of sound advice. One thing you overlooked tho was breathers.
The next question is what do you take with in the line of spares? My Pajero I take bearings, cv shaft, unis, lubes & service parts with.
I also throw some odds and sods in my toolbox. A cool tip I got was that if you buy "o" ring kits pay a bit more and buy the green "aircon" set they can apparently take much more abuse.
Thanks for the tips jocko
Great video Jocko, thanks for the tips
Glad your giving some good advice on driving in the tracks instead of just saying send it!
My dad's GQ 100% stock. Original clutch still in working. 440,000 ks!😂
Take it for a serious 4b and get back to us.
My GQ has 530,000 on a unopened motor but has busted a few clutches over the 26 years i owed her.
Loving these kind of videos boys. Very helpful
Good job Joko and the crew.. Loving these maintenance videos..
Great video, always fun to get some tips from Jocko...
Gearlever boots are also important.
Dust, mud and water can enter your manual gearbox and transfercase.
Love your channel.
Cheerz
Most of this i knew but still a few gems in there, very informative video, cheers Jocko!
Well done Jocko!
Most common breakage... Mistubishi Delica D5:
Absolutely everything ...
I'm on a first name basis with my mechanic...
Great video Jocko!! Learned a lot from watching this. ❤️🐞
Great video Jocko really well explained. 🍻 👍
Cheers jocko, I’ll be doing all of the above to my ln106, in prep for the cape 👌
one of THE best videos on UA-cam. Hands down
Great tips, Jocko! Also don't forget to check that brake fluid. Over time it'll attract moisture and start to contaminate the system. It's a little bit of a pain to flush and bleed the system but if out of all system failures having the brakes go when you need them is probably one of the most dangerous.
Thanks Jocko.
Well done video! Good points Jocko
Grabbed few tips might be handy. Thanks
Hell yea! Basics first! Great video, been a mechanic all my life and see people skip basics all the time! Reminded me of a few hehe
Best one in a long time
Some good points here

How good Jocko :D
A video with good tips to know. Good job guys!
Can’t wait to see you guys at the brisbane show hope all the cars are there
I really enjoyed this video, very informative! I love how Jock explained everything-he made it very easy to understand, and I learned several new things just from this video alone! (I know this is an old video, I’ve been busy this past year and I’m playing catch-up!)
Love a great video where you actually learn something useful. Also learnt Rodney has a loose CV joint in his right shoulder...he should get that checked out :)
Before changing gearbox fluid in an auto, check for slip codes beforehand. Then check afterwards. That is, more modern vehicles that can be electronically diagnosed.
Ok, so this video was actually excellent. Thanks fellas :)
Good tips! Love to see Rocket Rod also on a trip soon 👍
Probably too late for anyone to see this but I have a tip with the cooling system. Never cheap out on radiator caps, buy OEM. The aftermarket ones regularly fail pressure tests, many times letting the coolant system over pressure. This can cause old radiators to start leaking, hoses, water pump seals and even head gaskets to start failing. I speak from personal experience. My "japan spec" made in China cap opened at 29 psi, the OEM Toyota part at 16. Spend the extra few bucks and buy the correct part. You can get away with plenty of aftermarket stuff, don't risk it with the radiator cap.
love your videos
It was great to see Rocket Rod. It doesn't look like he is in the best of health but it would be good to see him in another episode one day. 👍
Awesome tips guys cheers 🤙🏽
Gold vid fellas👌🏾! Big 👍🏾 from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬.
Good one Jock you passed the audition
You can stay.
Must be nice not to have any interference from the dynamic duo when filming.
Haha thanks mate!
They keep me modest and I learn a lot from them!

How do you refill the blinker fluid?
A joke as old as the hills.
shano will help you look for it im sure he can find it. lol

Thank you
When removing cone washers leave the nut threaded on at the end of the stud, saves them from shooting into the abyss 👍🏻
Been waiting for this video. The next in this series should be bush mechanic fixes on this parts. Cheers 4WD247
