sounds great! my next few videos coming out were recorded before I posted this video, but ill make an effort to figure out a way to include some photoshop work in later videos!
So crazy to think someone from the other size of the planet watched my video! Super cool! Guess you will be busy painting very soon! Thanks for the comment 🙌
very beautiful to even just watch, i know nothing about painting with this medium lol was so curious on it and learned a lot in the process :,) beautifully done
wow, this painting is stunning! I am really considering starting to do pet portrait commissions and your work inspires me to do just that! great content :D
I love this portrait! The details are amazing. What a wonderful tribute for the family. I’ve only ever used acrylic paints but I really want to try oils….what would you recommend starting out?
Both are fine and have their pros and cons. Acrylics are water based which makes for easy cleanup and faster drying. Oils tend to be richer in pigment and slower drying times. You need to learn about fat over lean if your going to layer oils. Also want to educate yourself about oil mediums and solvents before using them as they can be very toxic if used incorrectly
I love your paintings and your process. I am a new painter and have gotten pretty good at painting pets. I’ve sold a bunch of these, but I’ve been told I’m pricing them way too cheap. Should I just start marking them way up and continue to paint ones on my own to practice and build a portfolio? Or continue taking commissions every couple of weeks but for only 75 bucks
That's a business decision that is totally up to you. If you find your so swamped and can't fulfill all your commissions, it's time to raise your prices. Just remember you can always raise your prices, but never lower them. You should always be practicing to get better, so make time for that regardless of your decision.
I would love to see your photoshop process that you mentioned

Luke, did you ever do the video on how to make changes with photoshop? I would love to see that. Love this guy!
I haven't done one yet, however I've been asked a few times so I'll be doing one soon showing how I make reference photos!

Thank you so much for sharing your talent! Do you sign your paintings on the front?
Thanks for watching!
I sign my paintings on the back.
I feel sometimes a signature can distract the viewer.
What is the color palette?
I used the Zorn Palette
Ivory black
Titanium White
Yellow Ochre
Cad Red Lite.
