Finally I watched a video showing the capabilities of the Rmax, I loved watching the power and performance in different situations of the 2 seater as well as the 4 seater, the real beauty is the versatility of both models
Hey thank you for watching! I’m impressed with the RMAX myself! Mike and Travis are constantly testing out their rigs to see what they can go through! I’m lucky enough to be there for most of it and capture the moments on film!
@@grizzlygreg8922 yes, it’s more versatile and capable than most of the utvs on the market but also more reliable than any other using a belt, you won’t be towed on the trails haha
Thank you for watching! I’m impressed with both the 2 and 4 seaters and both Mike and Travis love their rigs! And thank you for the feedback on the video! Took me a while and 7 memory cards worth a film to go through to put this one together.
Both my buddies who have the two RMAXs in the video haven’t done any yet and I don’t think they plan too.. they put a lot of miles on the trail and like the sound it has and don’t want it too loud
Slight correction there Greg... Mikes 2 seater has a whisky bent exhaust tip. And I have a homemade tip. Both made it just slightly loader for basically a better sound at idle and WOT.
Yes sir exactly right! The badlands trip was probably the best trip of 2021. If it was only 2 hours closer to me! That 5-5.5 hour trip is just a shade to far for a weekend rip. I like to make it a 3-4 day event when I do go. Thank you for watching!
@@grizzlygreg8922 bummer it's so far, it's only about a half hour from my house to Badlands..I bought an old Honda Rancher 350 just to go over there and have fun with my buddies, it really is a great park!
Set good all around sxs.. I like my Yamaha’s, I do have a Rzr Highlifter as my buggy but I do have my eyes on the new RMax 4 seater extended chassis.. I need a family hauler now that my 2nd was just born 🤘
Awesome man! Yea spread the word of the channel.. I will be a little slow with the uploads from now till December but once deer season is done I will be back riding!
I know you are a Yamaha guy, but unbiased, how has reliability been? I’ve heard about transmission and engine failures. Any bad stuff? Also how easy is it to maintain and service. I’ve heard performance is great but I’m wondering about durability. Keep sending it out there!
Travis the guy with the four seater, did have a axle problem but thats it so far. We just did a 1400 mile CVT clutch cleaning and greasing and everything looked well. The rollers in the secondary had a little wear on them but thats to be expected after 1400 miles. Other then that Mike, the guy with the 2 seater, has overheating issues but he doesn't clean his machine well so when you look at his radiator it is always caked full. So with that said it has very good cooling! since he doesn't overheat all the time even with a caked full rad. Transmission failures were happening from what I heard it would happen with in the first 50 miles, after that you were good.
@@grizzlygreg8922 Yeah I just got the 850 X2 Wolverine a few months ago. Love it. Just wish the R-max wasn't so much more expensive otherwise I would've got that.
They are a slick unit. I haven't had the chance to see one riding in person yet. Hopefully soon though! I need to find a wrecked one so I can find a way to put the motor in the Grizzly cause Yamaha will never do it haha.
Lmao. I hear ya on the Grizzly statement, I wish the 850 would make its way in a chassis, or even a new twin of some sort… either way it’s not going to stop me from buying a new one in he spring.. hopefully 🤞🏻
Mike had a a coil wire fall off one ride, Travis broke a LH front axle on the badlands ride, other then that nothing . Very well built and I’m impressed! The 4 seater is on my radar, with a new baby coming in the next week or two, 4 seater will be on the agenda in the next few years
I love when people name their machines! I think it’s awesome! There is some in my group that think it is just stupid though. So I make sure I say names even more in front of them to piss them off lol
A lot of it is from the Badlands, my group loves that park! Wish we could get down their twice a year but a lot of us work some crazy hours and is hard to get a group together. And driving 7 hours for a weekend trip is a long way lol
No we are in Wisconsin, bundy hill is on my radar, but with Lake Michigan in the way it is a good hike over there…. Probably will never make it over there, unless I go attend Racetober; sxs blog event they have.. then I would make a trip out of it and hit of mounds and bundy
@@grizzlygreg8922 I was riding in the western UP in September. Not for from WI. We stayed just outside of Ontonagon, on Lake Superior. A couple of years ago I made a wrong turn on the trails in Watersmeet and ended up in Land’O’Lakes WI.
@@williemaykit7940 damn, yea you were heading south the entire time lol.... a lot of my riding is in Marquette County. My sister and brother in law live up there so I got free room and board, and they know the trails pretty well. So it is a no brainer for me not to go up there a few times a year
Who ever doubt the machine obviously isn't no true ATV rider/builder/mechanic. They focus on one brand and think there better than anyone else. I prefer Yamaha ppl over canam and Polaris a holes anyway. Why cause they don't care. No one's sitting around comparing there just riding. I love my rmax4 it goes everywhere the rest go. I proved that to loud mouths canam,Honda, Kawasaki and Polaris ppl.
You are exactly right, I went and bought a Polaris Highlifter a few few years ago, wanted a purpose built mud machine but as I am getting a little older, just added a branch to the family tree, I’m going to be looking at the RMax 4 in e next few years for sure. Awesome trail rig, Travis put on some 31 Outlaw 1’s in this video and his Rmax4 handled them just fine, it will be on my radar for sure!! Plus being a grizzly owner since early 20s, I’m a Yamaha guy for sure!
The 2 seater has stock, the 4 seater has tried stocks, 32’’ rock crawler tires of some sort for a few clips and also had 31’’ Outlaws in some of the clips also
I don’t see a lot of them at the mud parks in the south. Up here is Wisconsin I usually don’t got a 1 ride with out seeing one. Way more common for trail riding states

Have had a blast on the trails with our viking the last 4 years, the rmax will be our new sxs
Great choice! Lots of power mixed with comfort and style!
This is the reason you NEVER EVER EVER buy a used side by side..haha
Exactly, you never know what you are going to get.. could be getting someone else’s problem for sure!
The RMAX sounds damn good in stock form. Keep looking for videos of exhaust and any performance goodies.

Great video! The R-Max and the YXZ are the best SXS’s on the market in my opinion.
Both are very well built machines!! I will definitely be going back to Yamaha on my next SxS! Thank you for watching!!

Yamaha giving a 10 year belt warranty means they are pretty confident

A loaded RMax 4 seems to have a lot of body roll but the RMax 2 is good 👍
