Korbin Albert's "apology" sounded like something from an HR department or a public relations company. I used to be a huge fan of the US Women's National Soccer Team, but that ended a long time ago.

This is what many, many Americans still fail to realize. The most popular American TV episodes aired back in the 1950's, 60's and early 70's. Now, the Top-20 streaming TV shows are some oldies from the 80's and 90's. Same with "pop music." The entire Billboard Top-200 Singles Chart (All Genres) accounts for less than 5% of streaming music. "Pop music" is not very popular either. Explain this to other Americans. The "popularity" of "pop culture" was itself a myth. We are not guessing or "having opinions." We have statistics and data. According to Gallup, 63% of Americans (A MAJORITY) don't drink any soda. "TV brands" are dying like flies. Notice how Trader Joe's and Wholefoods sell no "TV brand" food or drinks? Now you notice.

@@JohnGramer06 Yes, that's a slang food word. I was born in Syracuse NY. That was far enough toward the Midwest that some people called it "pop" while others called it "soda." I hear in other parts of the country they call all the fizzy colored sugar water "cokes." Think of our odd habit of calling chilies "peppers." And then we had to invent the odd phrases "sweet peppers" and "bell peppers" and "hot peppers." Of course, "sweet" once meant "sweet spot" as in tennis rackets. American advertisers made "sweet" mean "sugary." American English food lingo is all messed up. Do you have kid memories wondering why people called turkey "dressing" and salad "dressing" the same thing? I was married to a Ukrainian once. She pronounced "dough" the way we say "tough" and called salad dressing "sauce." I had Indian and Ethiopian friends who both called curry sauce "gravy."
We must be willing to walk away from anything for Christ.

She's spreading the Gospel, in which EVERYONE is ivited to drink the water of life. How do you get more inclusive than that?
Her original actions were nothing to feel shame over but that's a great narrative to threaten someone with to get them to shut up. Praying for Korbin, that the Lord will leverage this to the strengthening of her faith and the abandonment of fear. Praying other Jesus followers will lean in in ways that are loving and kind and truthful (like here) and that ultimately, Korbin's faith will be transformed by the One who loves her so much. Pressure is hard, fear is hard. I was Peter more than a few times, especially in my early days of walking. What man means for evil, God will use for good. Praying the best case scenario for Korbin and celebrating with the person whose story was shared. If anyone is in Christ, behold, he is a new creation! It would be awesome if Korbin and Riley Gaines could get together and walk through this situation. Praying for Korbin and for those who are opposed to Jesus. I was one of the second group - a mocker, scoffer, and hater of those who professed Christ who came face to face with the Living God and was saved from my sin and Hell. I will not cease to pray for them. He knows their names, He forgives sin, and He loves them.
Possible they are going to let her go. Most of the time Athletes forced to profusely apologize to LGBTQ is fired afterwards. Apologies was only to humiliate them and laugh about it.

That apology had nothing to do with anyone caring about any one group or suicide. That sounds like it came from the higher ups that they didn’t want any pushback and cancellation threats. They laid the hammer on that poor girl.

Allie please reach out to this young lady somehow. Extend a hand to her to encourage her in the faith. I agree with your assessment of her actions but she is young and needs to be encouraged. She was intimidated by the mob, booing her at the game and harassing her on social media. Likely she has not been discipled well as is the case with a large majority of churches in this country. She needs a more mature woman in the faith to teach her re. Titus 2.

Never say sorry to these people. Of course, if you have done or said something that was wrong in the eyes of God, then of course one must say sorry and repent to God. But this cult demands you apologies, get on your knees before them and say sorry, of course they have no intention of forgiving you, even if there was something to forgive. This whole story is sad. We non-celebrity Christians need others in the spot light to stay strong. We're paying their salaries by supporting the teams, or other public organizations where they perform. Is our opinion and money worth nothing?

It is the same thing as saying there is a god. It is statement of belief. We have freedom of religion in this country. A person can state what they believe, and if you take offense to that, that is your problem.
Wishing injury on someone is not statement of belief. It's being a jerk. And you should apologize for that.
Disclaimer: I am not in support of what Korbin Albert did. She is on one of the best national teams in the world, she is also on Paris St. Germain women's team, which is also a very big team. She could lose everything. The question is what is the church going to do when someone takes a stand like this? Are they going to help them find a new career? A new job? Some of these women have families they are helping taking care of. I think the church should step in and provide money for those who lose their careers. The Scriptures also say, "Love your brother." Why not provide money for a prescribed period of time for people like this?

These progressive cry bullies aren't looking for your contrition when they demand an apology. They want your submission, and they view your apology as just an admission of guilt that guarantees it. We see this behavior in many industries now, sadly. Luckily most Americans are getting fed up with it, but Rapinoe and others like her have ushered in a part of the fanbase that act the same way. I pray for the young lady who apologized and believe that she will continue to grow. Hopefully down the line she’ll be able to see why an apology wasn’t needed. Maybe she’s young in the Lord and needs good counsel around her. Posting that testimony give hope for other people.
