I've noticed over the years, the people with bigger dreams and goals tend to be more isolated, atleast when they are just starting out. You can't hang around with your group of friends all day, expecting something magical to happen where you just fly off being successful by chance

You also lose friends because most likely you have to give up things and they don’t understand. For example I had one group of friends that just play video games and one group that just smokes, I quit both and now I have pretty much nothing in common with any of those people.

The problem becomes , besides video games and smoking, what depth and meaning and purpose does my life have ? Video games is fun , when you want to play games ! Smoking is awesome when you want to trip out. So besides playing games and tripping out, what structure and value and service does my life give to my family, friends, community , etcccc

I’ve always hated jogging or any form of exercise but now I jog every single morning working my way up to 2 miles them 3 miles that’s not much compared to David’s 250 miles lol, but hey I just started. I also do weightlifting. I feel a lot better now, I don’t feel old anymore I move better now. So thank you David G for giving me my life back

Lately I’ve separated myself from all the shit that doesn’t matter in life. My “friends” were only concerned with money and cars, and would run their mouths excessively. They would put me down for pursuing goals besides making money. I’m a martial artist, you see, and aim to become a black belt in karate by this coming November. I train for several hours every day, building discipline along the way. I don’t have time for parties or “hanging out” or any of that. I am a fighter, and have taken life by it’s horns! I don’t need people- they just get in my way.

Man, I needed this! I was always a loner, and I am somewhat still is one. Though I have 100s of people I know from work and places, I have 10 or so friends and maybe 1-2 close ones. I have only a very small family also, parents mostly. When you deal with your shit alone, it builds your character like nothing else, but you need to toughen your mind to be able to analyze your shit through and grind towards fixing yourself. It needs deep introversion. And so true is that "haters are never better than you" phrase! I realized this as I got better in things myself, I become extremely supportive and compassionate with others. Because I have been through so much shit, I perfectly know what it takes to get where I am now and how hard it is. And I respect anybody who did it or starts to do it. It is funny I have a smaller but similar path and early life that David had, and I have found him just last year. I think I have found my biggest icon, inspiration and motivation. And I started grinding like never before this year. Stay hard, people!

I think we should look at this in a different way. Running/working out is not the real grind. It's people waking up early, grinding those hours away to support their families. Showing up, being there, while suffering life struggles. Working their jobs, saving money, spending time with their families, and being better people. That's the grind! Tired of people only praising people who get off drugs or the people who lose weight. What about the amazing people who never touch that, never give in that, and always stay focused and healthy. Why not praise those people?

I've always felt like a lone wolf and see a lot of dumb shit most of society is engaged in and don't want any part of it. Too many people want comfort and setting the bar so low means they lose their minds when you have higher expectations and goals, even for them. So the f-people thing is like second nature to me. However, there is strength in numbers and many times, when you're down or reach a plateau, some of those people you blew off will come in to rescue you, or conversely, will need your help. Just throwing it out there for convo.

You're not a lone wolf. Having absolutely no one is the correct definition. And it's hell. You suffer. You cry. You are lonely as hell. But if you can have nothing and still strive for better. I grew up with nothing and food was scarce. I was embraced by a group of 5 in 8th grade that helped me beyond description, helped make me a man through my early 20’s. Everyone except me in this group had a head start in life connections 2 parents food always on the table home security whereas i dropped out in 10th grade ( passed my GED) to support myself. Within 10 years I had blown by everyone in my peer group financially and in many other ways. This is when things changed as far as hating on me. It took me years to realize this fact: It was assumed that I would always struggle and be last in all areas of life. When the opposite occurred it was. A shock to their id, ego. After all if you have a solid head start in life vs someone with nothing and he blew by you as if your were standing still, it will be a reminder that you succeed by doing things taking chances applying yourself. The reality is that most people just can’t accept that some will do better because they are better regardless of how one starts off in life. I wish I had all those years back from when I tried to make people feel good about themselves in comparison to my accomplishments. Now I stick to myself go about my business and don’t give a rat’s rear what others think. True freedom.

I'm a popular loner!.. I used to crave ppls and GFs acceptance. In doing that, I was neglecting what I need for myself! The weight that lifts once you stop wanting needing and craving others acceptance, believe, you'll thrive! I've beat addiction and homelessness, and grief... beat that n u can beat anything!

I genuinely respect David Goggins and there's no doubt that some alone time is needed by everyone, but this whole lone wolf attitude towards life as a whole seems like a very blunt way to live. Nothing beats a good circle, partnership and family.

I hunted with a group of guys who would never put in the effort. Never on the mountain 2 hours before light and walking back in the dark. So, now I hunt by myself. No one to cry and complain they are cold, wet, hungry or scared of the dark. Since then, if I have to sleep on a buck in a cold camp no one complains because there is only me. I have been froze, dehydrated, hurting and having mind play tricks on me. Never again will another person affect my hunt. I will go alone. I am a hunter, I do not need a pack to kill and share with. I can do it all alone.

2:40 haunting words from Joe Rogan, especially as I'm middle aged now. The clock is continuing to tick down. I struggle with procrastination and I have never been a morning person. This is something I am really trying to remedy. Best of luck to all of us in reaching our goals, whatever they may be. Small or big, they all count. 🙏

I am 36 and strive to become a music producer. I came to realize to achieve that is to isolate myself from my friends.
Its lonely but I can't help doing it. I want to create great music and seek freedom from my current job (teacher).

I was paddle boarding over the summer and the eagles were out. 2 adults, 3 juvies. Teaching the juvies how to fish. It was the most amazing shit to just lay on my board and hear the sound of the 'thwack' as they pulled fish from the lake. Various little birds were plucking minnows which made me laugh but yeah nature doesn't give a shit about you. So be a god damn savage!

Greatness requires sacrifice and I can say this people will hate on you win they think your a threat to them that how you know your somebody they hate you because they want to be you and it's true it's lonely at the top that s why I don't do things like chasing women many of Great man have been brought down by a woman in the times we live in now being a lone wolf is the best why to be sometimes you can even trust your family no true power is to stand alone and the longer you do it the more powerful you will be come when I look at men chasing women like at the gym instead of working out hard and improving their self ther chasing pussy that's just weakness we need more real men in the world not all these little boys will all the real men stand up or keep being pussy
