      Yes the duotight fittings are really popular and they do make the installation really easy. We have been reluctant to do push in fittings in the past as some types are not very good quality but the duotight fittings have the best tight and leakproof seal we have ever used making them as reliable as barb and hose clamp fittings.

    With setting up multiple lines with the T piece. Will gas leak out of the other connections if say you set up for a 3 font tap system but only had one keg onfor now. Or do the ball lock fittings stop the gas from leaking out when connected. Hope this makes sense. Just setting mine up and I'm unsure

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  2 роки тому +1

      The tee piece will allow gas to flow in all directions.
      Generally speaking it's best to have a ball lock disconnect on the end of each line so if you disconnect the gas flow will stop

    Thanks for the very informative video!! I was considering making my own keggerator with an old mini fridge and ikegger parts, would end up costing a bit less but I'd be working with 10 litre kegs, im gonna save up for a series X, I think, now. Quick question though, what if I were to have a home bar and wanted to install the series X into the bar, can I install the font on top of the wooden bar? I'll have a door big enough in the bar so I can open the keggerator door, also is it possible to have the regulator and gas bottle in the fridge or next to the fridge it will be flush against the wall. It will be a self serve bar, not one like at a pub. Cheers 🍻🍻

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому +2

      Absolutely. Many of our customers put the font/taps ontop of a bar. Just make sure you design your bar top high enough. This is the mistake that most people make and make the bar top a bit too low. Yes you can put the gas cylinder and regulator in the fridge if you want but you have to sacrifice one keg space to do this. Most people keep it in a cuboard near by or somewhere else.

    Those duotight compatible short shanks are GAME CHANGING! I've been out brewing for a few years, but this was number one on my wishlist of products back when I was kegging regularly. Are they compatible with most taps, or just intertap/nukatap? I have some existing perlicks from way back, but these new generation nukataps look very tempting to upgrade to....

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Simon. The duotight shanks are compatible with all that's that we have tried. We tested all the major tap brands and they seem to work fine.
      The perlicks are a good tap but they do have a tendency to leak sometimes. The nukataps are more reliable in my opinion. I am not really a bit fan of the idea of a floating o-ring design that is in the perlick taps.

    How do you attach the gas manifolds?
    I've got a dual tower setup with a dual primary regulator leading to two manifolds. I need to attach the manifolds but two-faced tape doesn't stick to the aluminum manifold. I'm leery to screw into the wall or ceiling of the kegerator, but it's also a pain in the arse having all my gas lines flop around.
    Should I screw? And where should I screw if indeed I should screw? And what screws should I screw with if I need to screw?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому

      We prefer using inline regulators on a gas board. Best not to drill or screw into the kegerator. This will void warranty.

    • @fredfosdick4093
      @fredfosdick4093 3 роки тому

      @@KegLand I appreciate your response. I haven't screwed, I suspected it might void the warranty.
      What I've ended up doing is splitting the lines with stainless steel tees. It's now a lot easier to move my kegs around. Unfortunately it means I've wasted $75 on 2 manifolds.

    I currently both homebrew beer and ginger beer (the non alchoholic kind) and am getting tired of the bottling tedium.
    If I wanted to start kegging and set up a kegerator, could I dispense the gingerbeer from the keg using the same pressure line as the beer? or would it need to be a different pressure / not pressurized at all?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому

      Your kegs are probably a bit too full. Many customers do not fill the beer right up to the gas post.
      One thing you can do is always pull the PRV on the keg before disconnecting the gas line and this will also prevent this from happening.

    Hi Kegland
    I have purchased this and I used the maximum of beer line I received with the kit. I did the water test and am getting over 500ml in 10 sec.
    When I did the water test I had the keg pressurised at pouring pressure, was I supposed to do this or did I not need to connect the gas at all?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому

      You need to keep the gas connected at all times.

    Can you install the CO2 inside the fridge?

    • @markwozere
      @markwozere 16 днів тому

      yes but it is a waste of space. You are only using a tiny bit of co2, chilling it while it's in the canister is pointless.
      If you need the space & your kegerator/keezer is not full then go for it. (if that is the case then I suggest 100mm - 125mm castors; either screwed in or on a custom "dolly")

    The build quality looks great. I would suggest you check prior to purchasing whether it does come with the new connectors or the old barb ones. I purchased mine early sept 2019 so was disappointed to find it came with the old barbed fittings. Given the video states new fittings are provided from 2019 I also think this is misleading. Had I known how difficult and frustrating it is to attach 4mm beer line supplied to the barbed fittings I honestly don’t think I would have purchased the unit at all. Several days on looking at upgrading to new improved fittings. But despite KegLand selling extensively in New Zealand no one seems to stock these new tap upgraded shanks and KegLand Australia while they have them in stock don’t ship outside Australia. On KegLands own site in the description of the new fittings it makes reference to how difficult the previous barbed fittings were. I chose the KegLands kegerator after a lot of research however missed this issue which is stopping me having a working kegerator at present.

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  5 років тому

      @@brucegreen8954 sorry about that. We have more than 60 international distributors and it's very difficult for us to keep track of which retailer has which stock. It's also hard to enforce all distributors turnover the stock with FIFO policy too. I know from start of 2019 all units sold by our main distribution centre were getting shipped out with the new connectors but then this may take a few months to trickle down to all the distributors.

      I am having the same problem
      It's been almost 2 weeks and I still couldn't manage to ensemble this thing
      After ordering multiple fittings I am convinced that this isn't a well designed and finished product
      I don't think any home appliance should be this complicated to build
      I am thinking about returning it this week

    • @ashleygillman3104
      @ashleygillman3104 5 років тому +3

      I ended up figuring it out. You have to pull out the little tab inside the 6.5mm side (the one that has the hooks into the hose). Then it will slide over the barb. I've been using it now over a week and doesn't seem to be leaking at all. Apart from that confusion, I had everything I needed in the kit.
