Re: reclaiming pumpkin -- back in the 1800s, pumpkin pie was considered an abolitionist symbol because pumpkins were grown on small farms, not plantations!
Also, they (as in racist white ppl) used pumpkin as a status symbol to prove how rich they were and wouldn't allow Black ppl to have them. And that's why Black ppl tend to like sweet potato pie instead of pumpkin pie when they taste almost the same. They really gentrified and weaponized poor pumpkin
@@CJMGalaxy, try roasted pumpkin with butter, salt and pepper. It's delicious. I will even eat canned pumpkin this way. It has a really subtle flavor, like lots of vegetables. The spice blend used in pie (and 3 million other things these days) is just overpowering.
The white chocolate macademia nut cookies are my fave! Also it was hilarious when the bread slipped out of the bag and Jen was like "Wait ... what? When did it stop being a bag?" LMAO
Worth noting is that the Costco muffins freeze *really* well. My family will get the 2 pack and individually wrap the extras and freeze them, then pull them out as needed! Some locations have corn muffins (similar to the mantecada I guess? but labeled as corn muffins) that are really good sliced in half and toasted with some butter.
My family would cut them in half and freeze them! It was one of the non-shelf stable things we bought because it was just me and my mom (usually shopping as my god mother's guests). They are AMAZING heated up, including when they are heated from frozen.
I milked a goat once. A friend of mine in highschool raised goats and I spent the night at her house. I was expected to help with the morning chores and part of that was milking the goats. At first I didn't want to touch the teats but got over it. I was surprised at how warm they were. It's something that stays with you.
You can still celebrate Thanksgiving as a Native person, you just have to alter the connotations of the holiday. My family is Native, and we just use the day as an opportunity to hang out together (something we don't do often), eat a kick ass meal, and fall asleep on the couch in a food coma while watching football. The holiday is what you make it!
I thought Thanksgiving was originally a Canadian Holiday. Celebrated because we were thankful to not be American (during the civil war). Canadian Thanksgiving coincidentally is the Monday of shame (Columbus Day).
I've been wondering about the tub of mini chocolate chip cookies for literal years!!!!! I've never bought them but every single time I go to costco, I stand next to them for at least two minutes and stare at them, wondering what they are like, wondering if they are soft or hard. Thank you so much for ending this mystery for me. Wow this video means a surprising lot to me
I just need to say I freaking love the editing for all these videos. Makes Kitchen and Jorn go from "omg my sides hurt from laughing" to "wait what sound just escaped from my mouth, I didn’t know humans could make that sound while laughing"
They’ve gone back and forth since I got my membership (10 years ago). They were like a danish pull apart ring with icing, then they switched to individual danishes with like a streusel, then they ditched the streusel for the icing again. I wish Costco would get it together lol.
You guys have probably had higher quality croissants than I have had, but I freaking love Costco croissants and usually end up eating the entire package myself in like three days. Partially because no one else in my house eats croissants, and partially because I love them.
Agree! I've had far worse grocery store croissants lol, I quite enjoy the Costco ones. At Target, it literally felt like I was eating weird-shaped bread, it was not buttery or flakey in the slightest LOL
Kristin's description of the big box of tiny soft cookies as a vampire is so good that it might help with my binge eating urges w/ OTHER foods I feel that way about 😂😂
As a Southern born, we didn't keep milk out on the table for meals, but it was a common drink in our home, especially for breakfast and dessert 😋. Also, since y'all asked so nicely💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
How about a video of unusual or not commonly found snacks at a dollar type store? (For us rural people who cant shop at these common box stores) Also I always look forward to lunch on Fridays to watch these!
Given that Salvadoran food has its base (since ancient times) on corn, beans and different types of gourds and we are so proud of that, I am all for you reclaiming pumpkin. Yes mama, take that pumpkin back!!!
My favorite costco bakery item is the cranberry walnut bread. It randomly comes out in between the beginning of fall and Christmas. Although I found it twice in the middle of summer this year. It's really good with the cranberry goat cheese (not Kirkland) they get around the Hollidays.
I used to watch you both a few years back, under a different name/channel. Im so happy I came across this channel. Love you both, missed your reviews and comedy ❤
The mixed berry pastries and the cheese Danish are very sweet but if you find them when they're baked a little longer they're so much better. They're just a tad darker. I tend to toast mine in the air fryer
I loved the comment about plastic coffins (3:14). That is exactly what those clear boxes from the grocery store are! I will now be referring to them as such.
Well Kristen either needs to randomly tell us about each new pair of earrings/art that they wear or make another separate video just of the beaded art. I did really enjoy that and learning more about native heritage.
I WISH that it could be Halloween till Christmas. They can blend together in late November à la The Nightmare Before Christmas, just before Advent starts. I do not need any break in between.
I think the argument can be made that it’s the concept of pumpkin spice that is associated with the basic white girl. When they are referring to the lattes and other seasonal pumpkin spice things mostly it’s got no actual pumpkin content. And I give pure pumpkin to my kitty for his tummy too. Not just for pups!
Ironically, growing up I was only allowed to drink milk at home when i was eating breakfast foods. When I was offered milk with dinner for the first time I was so confused and excited. I'm from the Midwest, btw
The Costco muffins freeze beautifully. When I need a piece of cake, I take one out, nuke it for a few seconds, and have warm cake and ice cream. Quick, easy, and delicious!
I worked as a farm hand on a small family farm and we milked cows twice a day, you bet each meal had two half gallon mason jars of fresh raw milk with cream at the top. The kids would fight over the first few pours so we had to make a rule that you have to shake it before you can pour your glass so you don’t take all of the cream that rose to the top. 😅
The almond Danish from Costco is SURPRISINGLY good. It's not super sweet, and because almond paste is driee than another filling, the pastry doesnt get soggy quite as fast
I think it would be brillant to watch you both do sessions on foreign foods/snacks. As an Aussie I can only imagine the dialogue around some of our snacks and iconic food items (oh and I don't just mean Vegimite!), I'd be in fits.....
My lil sis and I watch you from opposite sides of the US. And send clips as a way to stay in touch. Thank you for this gem... my favorite lil nutterball 😂😂😂
There is a section at Aldi with their "quick meals" that have things like Thai Chicken, Pork Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, Korean BBQ Chicken, etc. that I think would be great for you to try! Some of them are less good (to me) than the others, but I buy a couple of them at least once a week!
Re: blueberry muffin. They’re infinitely better warmed up. Bonus points if you add butter. Also, if you ever see them you absolutely need to try the almond poppy seed muffins.
Kristin's outfit gives me incredibly fun & fruity summer vibes, even if Kristin's very over summer haha. Like ummmm fruit roll-up candies, but in the most positive connotation I can give!
That’s not a standard size American muffin just a super sized one from our bulk food store. I don’t know why instead of selling a pack of 18 or 24 standard size they super sized them in an average quantity pack.. probably to see if people would eat them as a single serving therefore needing to come back and buy another pack sooner than they would if it was a big pack of average muffins.
I loved the earrings segment, and as a person of Irish and German descent who is not fond of potato and much prefers squash or pumpkin I tend to get crap from my family. You should absolutely reclaim the pumpkin for it is understandable with how tasty it is. But please leave some for the rest of us 🙏.

Y'all I know I was wrong about cheesecake I AM SORRY
Maybe that should be your next minuscule food fight!
Oh my bad I literally just commented that lol
You guys should each bake a cheesecake and Bree could be the judge 👍
I read this comment before watching the video and still got confused when you said it 😅 We still love you Kristen ❤
Only some cheesecakes are baked! You were not wrong about the existence of unbaked cheesecakes; it's just that Costco bakes theirs.
The fight box items should get tried by Bree and she can decide where they belong
I was looking for this comment 👏🏻🎉
Yes!!!!!!!!!
Yes!! Also, don't let Bree know who liked or disliked it beforehand! :)
Yes I agree! Get a third party in here to settle the Fight Box items

I work in the Costco bakery and 1000% was not disappointed by this review 😂😂 the bags also make us so angry.
The double chocolate muffin is like twice as good when you warm it up in the microwave
and put Kirkland vanilla ice cream on top!
And they freeze great, which is important when you have that many. Pull one out of the freeze, pop it in the microwave, and you're in heaven.
Both god ideas to ponder! Me thinks some Baileys on top of the vanilla ice cream would be good
We had this at school and it was a delight in winter! Hot choc muffs.
