It’s so good knowing you can get the vachetta replaced. I recently did this to my 97’ Keepall 50 and it looks incredible, like you a bit nervous about the tanning process 🤣 it’s nice to have some THICK canvas with fresh leather

I love how you can replace the vachetta and keep the OG canvas 💚 Interesting you describe the repair process as “easy”… I’ve tried to have 2 items I bought preloved repaired and was basically treated like a criminal in the Brisbane LV store - Accused of the possibility of the items being counterfeit (which they absolutely were not) and the SA demanding original receipts for the repair to go ahead. So disappointing! I would love to hear some advice on how to approach the repair process in store to actually get this done 😊

This is really helpful. I need to get a repair done for an Alma with vachetta, and I was told LV don't use good quality vachetta, which is a dilemma. Obviously some repair places will tout for business and say anything. If you go with one of them, LV won't touch the bag again. So risky!

Do you know if they will replace with the black coated leather for the trim & straps? Or does it have to stay with the original leather type?

I would be sad to lose the date code. It would not be difficult for them to re-stitch the original date code onto the new vachette. That is what would make me hesitate having vachette replaced. Thank you for the video! Lovely bags, both as good as new!

oh hey - you said 'they are using the oxidized leather now' and I'm curious to know more about that? I'm looking into getting a vintage Noe (authentic) and they replaced all the vachetta and it doesn't look quite as 'white' as brand new - certainly not like yours and I'm wondering if LV is replacing some bags with different leathers? Does that make sense?
They look amazing, but LV really know how to work out the repair price. New bag not far away from repair and old bag cost together !!! Good that you love it, I prefer first hand new pieces.

I was just abt to ask the same exact question. I just purchased a can of Apple Guard for my VERY FIRST brand new LV bag. I’ve watched a few videos but I’m still afraid to spray my vachetta strap. Did u also spray the entire bag 💼 or just the vachetta parts?
Do you know if StockX sells fake Louis Vuitton items? I wanted to buy a men’s pocket organizer from their but I’m skeptical.

You probably should contact LV and ask them to replace the date code. That's a major oversight on their part.

I had a horrible experience when I took my Samuar 35 that I purchased from France to have a complete restoration done. Long story short, I had to get my attorney to contact Louis Vuitton attorneys. It was pretty bad. I will never go back to LV flagship in SanFrancisco, California and I have been a customer there for over 25 year's. 😔
