    Isayama brought every single Point of View and perspective of the millions of people that watch this show into one single circle which is literally episode. His themes and message stands very clear to the audience.
    Marco’s last words, “We haven’t even talked this through” resonates so much into our world and society, not to mention what is currently happening right now. Communication is key to a successful relationship, and we as humans fail this because we just assume directly rather than to talk.

      @mitromney 2 роки тому +11

      Not everything can be solved with a conversation. This episode makes it clear and that's even more so true in real life. In a confrontation like this every side has it's reasons to justify war, loss of life and cruelty. And all reasons are valid. You can't put a price tag on human life. So if either Eldians or Marleyans have to die, there is no correct way out of the situation. Everyone is both right and wrong. There are no villains or heroes in attack on titan. Just people, everyone with a unique and completely valid perspective.

    Gabi's development is great. From warmongering child soldier, to a confused, angry, bitter child with trust issues, to finally understanding her mistakes and of those around her, to a reflective personality who might not know all the right answers yet, but will listen and keep looking for them.
    And still she literally gets physically hit by the sins of those that came before her (Reiner). But I kind of think that she's alright know. She will have to live with the memory of killing Sasha, a great woman, who was beloved by many, while being enraged for all the wrong reasons. However, last episode Conny said to Falco he doesn't hate him for what happened in the heat of battle (Sasha's death), and Jean doesn't seem to blame her, or at least he sees her trying to change. Sasha's closest comrades and her family either forgave her or are trying to move on from the blame game and get out of the forest. 😊 At least, that's my take on her situation up until know.

    This show is really amazing at depicting the whole grayscale of war. I love that we follow Paradise for 3 seasons just to get our perspectives flipped 180 degrees in the 4th. And to see our hero being turned into a villain just to save his home. You can draw so many parallels to the real world through Erens character arc. It's so sad and realistic to watch a boy turn in to a soldier by hate and then into a terrorist, just because of what some other nation did to him. And then see him to the exact same thing to them. Starting the whole cycle again. The best villain is someone who believes they are the hero.
    If you're into this you should watch Pains speech of "Cycle of Hatred" in the Naruto Shippuden series, it's pretty much this whole story summarised in 5min.

    I think Jean understood there are no need to blame Reiner. If he hate the people who killed Marco, he also punched Annie too., but he didn't. In my opinion, Jean punched Reiner for Reiner. He killed so many people to get praise, but now he regret it, but he became a hero in his hometown. He want to die but he can't. Jean want him to release his sence of sin, so he punched Reiner as a judgement.

    oh, I forgot to add that I still hate Floch, since the first moment I saw him and only more since. I think he just wants anarchy and power.
    I really also dislike Magath, using history to excuse the atrocities Marley has caused. Like, yeah, the Eldian empire did terrible things and subjugated Marley. Ok, but then when the king left for Paradis, Marley then controlled titans to subjugate and invade other lands, so how are they different? Marleyans' logic is flawed from the beginning. And Udo said the other nations treated Eldians even worse, so...
    Annie is right that in the end they will protect Eren and they might have to fight then, but baby girl shouldn't mess with Mikasa. She put her down once, and now she has four years of experience on her. Sit down, honey.

    Désolé j'ai eu la flemme de me traduire en anglais.
    Voici ce que j'ai vu en essayant de comprendre certains plans.
    Plan sur un ciel bleu azur dégagé mais au soleil particulièrement flou: rêve illusoire. Fantasme.
    Plan sur une fenêtre: Personnages qui se retrouvent dans un océan de ténèbres (la pièce dans laquelle ils se trouvent est quasiment un vide absolu) a cause de la situation mais cherchent un échappatoire qu'ils pourraient accepter. La fenêtre étant autant une ouverture qu'elle possède des barreaux, fait office de porte fermé de cage.
    Plan sur la foret: les persos sont dans le brouillard pour ce qui leur sera possible de faire et tentent d'y réfléchir "a l'aveugle". La forêt a beau être confortable, elle cache l'horizon.
    Plans sur les branches. Parce que la situation est inextricable, Jean ne peux pardonner Reiner, même si Reiner s'en veut. Ces branches sont une cage. Dont Gaby sera la clef qui permettra de calmer Jean.
    Parce que Jean est celui "qui comprend les faibles" ou quelque chose comme ça d'après Marco. Gaby représente ces faibles a n'être qu'une enfant qui implore de l'aide.
    Cette foret, ces branches n'étaient que les barrières confortables des préjugés. Préjugés desquels il faut s'extirper pour comprendre et accepter le monde. Pour comprendre le sens de l'enseignement du père Brauss. "même si c'est peine perdue, il faut s'évertuer a essayer." aurait dit Niccolo.
    Ces branches sont ce qu'étaient les murs au début de l'œuvre. ça les planque dans un confort relatif tout en obstruant la vision.
    Vision donc obstrué comme l'aveuglement de Jean:
    Les horreurs eldiennes sur les mahrs datent d'il y a 2000 ans d'après Jean? Non elles ont commencé y a 2000 ans mais n'ont cessé qu'il y a environ 1 siècle. Donc pas "il y a" 2000 ans mais bien "pendant" quasiment 2000 ans.
    La première attaque des guerriers est autant la faute des Mahrs que du roi Fritz lui même qui acceptait parfaitement la situation. Rappelons que le roi ne souhaitait pas "la paix" mais "disparaitre" en emportant tous ses sujets avec lui. Donc en vouloir simplement aux Mahrs comme si tout était de leur faute parait un peu absurde. J'ai cru pendant un moment qu'ils avaient découvert la vérité(du moins la partie Fritz) mais en fait non, j'ai du rêver. Eren a vraiment tout gardé pour lui. (pour garder les protagonistes dans le flou autant que les spectateurs?)
    Et pour Reiner, je comprendrai si Reiner cherchait a minimiser la gravité de ses actes, alors que là non seulement il ne les minimise pas mais en plus il fait comprendre que lui même s'en veut tellement qu'il ne pourra jamais se pardonner. (et préfèrerai mourir pour ça. ça, il ne le montre pas directement mais nous on le sait depuis ses tentatives de suicides) Lui taper dessus dans ces conditions ne semble pas très utile, mais bon, Jean a facilement tendance a se laisser emporter par ses émotions, c'est pas nouveau. D'où sa lutte interne, d'où la cage de laquelle il doit s'extraire pour avancer.
    Comme dit Hange, arrêtons de ressasser le passé, surtout qu'on est les trois quarts du temps a coté de la plaque vu qu'on y était pas et qu'on y comprend donc pas le contexte correctement.
    Sans oublier la marmite au contenu rouge sang, écho d'un passé sanglant qu'on ressasse et qui envenime la situation aussi facilement qu'un feu fait bouillir la sauce.

      You are doing something fun. It's fun to seek meaning in symbols and images. I understand. But don't overdo it too much, it's not good for anything. ^_^ Important elements will appear repeatedly in the story. It may change as the story progresses, but it is consistent. As an example...the forest of giant trees as an anti-titan trap...the forest as a hate labyrinth...and the forest as the current meeting. The meaning may change little by little, but the meaning as something to hide or expose is maintained.
      Because it is a visual language, its meaning intensifies with the time of its appearance, and it can only exist in the context of the time before and after it.
      No matter how attractive a motif may be, the context before and after it is important. Imagine what a DJ might be doing in a one-hour minimal techno set.
      They are redefining and contextualizing each track. That is the condition of time-related art. The same goes for video and animation: a tasteful drum'n'bass at the end of a half hour is fun, but not meaningful, even if it is effective. That's how I see it.(^ω^)

      Short-sighted and hypocrites aren't the right words to describe this team. Just because they are threatened to be killed, doesn't justify them killing millions of INNOCENT PEOPLE.
      However, hypocrisy is indeed a major theme in AOT:
      Marleans despising the deeds of eldians 2000 years ago but still treating Eldians as horribly once they had the power to do so.
      Marleans, again, calling the Titans "devils" yet using them to terrorize the world and conquer other lands.
      Eldians using the same arm band labels that were used by Marley to discriminate against anti-yeagerists.

You know this, so paradoxically, Hanji's " genocide is wrong" is very much alive. It takes courage to say this because it is a shared virtue and common sense. Its so close to something hyp.

    Floch is no more brutal than Eren, which is important to realize. The best part of this show is how gray it is. Floch doesn't do these things because he is heartless and neither does Eren. They don't believe that they have any choice and with the whole time things that were revealed before, do they truly have any free will anyway? Can you ever truly be free? Can you ever truly change the future, or is it destined to happen? The show brings forth a lot of questions, not all of which we can easily answer or answer at all within the boundaries of the show.

    • @Mitsu2040
      @Mitsu2040 2 роки тому

      I honestly don't think Eren cares about "eldian superiority" or the "empire". Floch loves having people bow to him. It's a power play from an insecure man and he revels in it. Eren, I believe, sees it more as a necessity. That's how I interpret it, anyway.

    • @thesauceguy1809
      @thesauceguy1809 2 роки тому +1

      @@Mitsu2040 They both see it as necessity, Floch clearly states that we need a Devil like Eren. He knows that what Eren is doing is not good. He's been in a helpless situation, just like what the people subjected to the rumbling are in now. His actions are motivated by feelings of necessity and justice. While he may or may not enjoy being a leader, he does it to keep people in the cause. This show is extremely gray, as I've already said. I don't think it is Isayama's goal to portray Floch in the way that you perceive him. Whether or not you agree with what Floch is doing, other characters have done more damaging things. Armin, for instance, DIRECTLY killed FAR more people than Floch. Armin also did this to save Eren. Did he truly think that it was necessary for the survival of the island and his people, or was it just for Eren's survival? Regardless of which reason you believe to be true, Armin has killed far more people (much more of which were innocent) than Floch has. Despite this, there are not many people who view Armin in a similar or worse way than Floch. Few people believe themselves to be villains. In the world of Attack on Titan, characters make decisions that I'd consider morally reprehensive for a wide variety of reasons. A lot of their actions, while horrible, can be understood and/or empathized with. This doesn't mean you are condoning what they do, but that you can understand why they might do it. I still think Floch must be stopped, but I don't hate him for being influenced by things out of his control. New episodes may reveal more about him, we shall see. I'm too tired to reread what I typed, so I hope all of that made sense lol.

      Well, only the part where he reminded Jean that these were the people that sent eldians to eat eldians and wanting revenge, especially after surviving the Beast titan's brutal assault. But what I see is that he enjoys power and he enjoys hurting others. It's why I don't like Beast titan even though I have sympathy for what he went through.
      But I am looking forward to what's to come, terrible as it may be.

      @@Mitsu2040 I think the enjoyment aspect is subjective. I don't see them as enjoying it, but more being uncaring. You can also argue that people will change who they are to cope with their actions. Characters that kill can regret it (which would lead to hesitation) or they can embrace it.

    While i believe that the genocide eren is about to commit is morally wrong indeed i cant help but think that there is no best solution.Them stopping Eren probably means they will struggle finding or even preserving their peace afterwards leading to more warand iin the end because Paradis is going to be helpless without the colossals they will get eradiated which is still genocide althouugh the other way around.Mass genocide vs genocide is the thing here unless the world is uniited by the time erren is stopped.Its genocide both ways and there is no right answer.

      The point is obvious, this is not a story about right and justice. That is why so many people support AOT. People who understand that just don't agree with the idea of patriotism in the story. Really.
      Everyone has an emotional attachment to one of the characters. But that is not a reason to approve of their actions, which is the best part. Because that's where the tragedy begins.
      I think it is okay to like the floc. I am sure that the floc is patriotic as well. It is also true that Armin and his friends are pathetic.
      It is totally fine. Many people just don't think in that dualistic way already. Everyone in aot is pathetic, miserable and helpless. Even the king and Yumir. It's just that some people understand that empathy isn't always necessary to read and understand this story, and some people don't. They may or may not realize they are drunk. Floch is a national hero, and is doing everything he can to save his home, and his people, while the traitors (alliance) are actively trying to kill everyone they know and love.
    But since floch is portrayed as the "bad guy" and most of you people are marvel-avenger tier watchers, you cannot recognize true evil from the antagonist.
    Floch is correct and right. The alliance are traitors who want to kill their own beloved people. The answer seems pretty clear to me.
